Reacher (DayZ)

Gotta say, I like both, full or lowpop server. I have a friend who likes to chill and loot ,when I join him it´s gonna be on lowpop servers. That´s fine but not all the time. And then I joined freethink here and got into all sorts of trouble on full servers. Awesome :D

Gearing up is half the fun :)

I´ve got one for you that was really really annoying....this just happend to me..... I was gearing up after beeing killed in Berenzino last night. Nothing unusual about that, it was a firefight and I lost. Now, I had just found me a shotty, the pistolgrip one, som ammo for that, plenty of food and decent clothes (Riders jacket, black cargo pants, and a black cowboy hat). I log out in a police station, had to put kids to bed, spawn back in and it´s all quite. WHAM!!! Connection loss, rubberband, desync....EVERYTHING possible that is f****d up with your internet connection all at once. There I am, unable to move or do anything...and a guy pops up from nowhere...shots me dead... What caused this massive loss of internet connection then? Did the moon fall down on my isp? Is there a real zombie apocalypse going on? Did someone cut the wiring just to piss me off? Nope....my wife came down all joyful saying she found an app that let her sync ALL her cellphone photos to her Google account....I´m on ADSL...heavy uploads is not good for gaming...not good at all..........

Killing an bambi that tries to punch you out is one thing, I would do that too. But killing one that haven´t even seen you is for a**h***s. I see no sport in using bambis for target practise, I use zeds for that.

The "looks" of the game, if you ask me, is really good. Yup, it is. Beeing an alpha and all the graphics are stunning. It actually feels like you are running around in a real world me finks. It´s not just the graphics that does that to you, it´s the whole feel to it. Yes there are bugs here and there, some more annoying than others. I can live with that. It´s still one of the best games I have ever played. You just have to remember that this game is not ready yet. I think we gamers kind of forgets that from time to time. Finally, where else can you dress up in a dirty pink wooldress, arm yourself with a hockeystick and run from zombies while you are dying from starvation? Awesome :)

I mean huh??!!! What´s up with all these servers that apparently is closed for public players?? Join=Kick they say...or Whitelist, Join=Ban etc. Today I found one saying "Don´t join, I want to loot alone". Ofcourse I tried to join. I spawned and got instakicked. There are tons of servers like this. It kind of smells funny if you ask me. These kids (my assumption) just want to gear up undisturbed so they can go on other servers and cause trouble. Or what?? I come from the Battlefield world where EA had their EULA (End User License Agreement me finks) wich made it risky to keep stupid server rules or kick/ban just for fun. I have been part of closing servers that where used for statspadding for instance. Just raise a support ticket including ip adress and server name. Why is it ok to keep players out like this in DayZ? Kind of pisses me off. Maybe someone here can answer me this. Hopefully this will get adressed in the future or else there will be no other choice than renting your own server to be able to play it seems. Best regards, Reacher

Ever since the 0.55 patch/update there have been numerous posts and topics about how DayZ is either "too darn hard", "just fine" or "heading where it should be". Ok, so lets agree to disagree. Fine by me. Now, coming from the Battlefield series, been playing that since it came out in 2002 me believes, there are a few server side options worth mentioning. There will always be players with different preferences of how a game should be. Why not make it possible to have different server settings? Best of two worlds. Those who enjoy playing Picking berries Simulator 2015 can have that and those who want to gear up for world war III will be happy aswell. Just make it impossible to switch between these servers without losing your character. More people will then actually buy the game. Should be of interest from the devs one would think. Ah well, maybe this has been suggested already. I don´t know. If so, well, sorry I guess but here it is again :) Happy gaming folks. /Reacher

Well, I beg to differ. It has worked well with the Battlefield series. Settings like "Infantry only", "Hardcore", "Friendly fire on/off" etc. No problems at all. It is still the same game. No question it will attract more players. /Reacher

It´s there alright. As said, get hydrated and eat a lot. Eat like 5-6 cans of food, wait a minute and it will show healing. /Reacher

As a new player (30-35 hrs of gametime) I find these "new" zombies a bit too strong. Took on 2 of them with a fire axe and got beat up pretty darn bad. Lost a lot of blood. Ofcourse it should be hard to survive but there´s a thin line between "hard" and "darn right rage quitting impossible". As a fresh spawn now you will not stand a chance. Especially we who play alone. If you got a crew the fine, I get it. But not all do. If you don´t have guns you are scr***d. And to get guns you need to stay alive longer than 5 mins. I agree that the zombies were a bit weak before the exp update, they didn´t feel like a big threat. But now they are too strong for fresh spawns. Geared crews will take over the game and guys like me will be respawning and respawning all night long. Besides this, I really enjoy the game. /Reacher

Hey all. Reacher here. I´m pretty new to this game, only got about 30-35 hours of playtime so far. Just trying to get a hang of it. Played lots of fps games through the years mostly the Battefield series though. I´m actually turning 42 this summer (yeah old guy huh) and live in Sweden. Ingame I´m friendly and do not shoot on sight. If I can help I will. I am mostly on my own in DayZ wich is kind of hard, especially with this exp. update (zeds are a bit too buffed imho).
