Dayz standalone?

Good Afternoon all, I am looking for a group or clan with a TS server. I am only interested in a group that just plays dayz Standalone. I used to play the dayz mod for about 2 years and was part of a group there the whole time who held TS mod and server admin. I am familiar with the mod map, but still learning the SA map. I have played about 40 hours on SA now, and am familiarized with most of the need to knows. As for gear, I know where and how to get it fast. I have no intentions on meeting a single person and getting killed for my loot. I am only interested with credited groups who value integrity. I am not interested in immature and annoying environments. I am looking for a setting where members are treated as equals, some groups I have come across claim to hold a rank structure yet have no respect in their group (idiots). This being said I am not fond of most rank structure set ups, but i am open minded. I want a group who is US East centered. I will be trying to play often. I am 22 y/o, male. I do not like constant KOS, I do support self defense which sometimes happens quickly. I have no interests in hoarding gear, that ruins the game. All the gear I need I carry, and am not bound to any location on the map. I typically stay away from the coast. I like serious gameplay, but not so drastic as roleplay. I am not looking for a specific age group just as long as it is mature and enjoys dayz. Goob

I have 8 and I bought the samsung evo 850 as mentioned above 250 gb and my os steam and dayz are the only things on it.

Niko how is it that you only have 3.0ghz, but get so much better fps. What video card and how much vram

I installed the ssd. Its better, but not happy with it. It still can get real choppy even in a smaller town up north. Haven't even gotten to a big city. Frustrated....

Frosty, I did some research on tour suggestion and I believe that is what is "bottlenecking" me into my current situation. While my rig is nothing special it is ok for most games. But my hard drI've come to find out is pretty much crap. Low rpm hard drive, and no where even close to performance if even low end ssd's. I did not realize how much dayz does utilize reading information from the files, but it makes perfect since that I would have losses due to piss poor read/write speeds. I ordered the samsung evo 850 250gb with 540 mb/s read/write and another sata 3 cable for about 120 $. Thank you for the insight about ssd's, I was completely out of the loop. I don't know much about transferring the crap off my old hd to this one and such but I will start researching. I am curious to know if I could keep my old hd hooked up in there for extra document space. Thanks! /R

Fre, is purchasing a ssd worth it as far as improvements? Is there anything special or specific to look for?

Good afternoon all, I've been having some trouble with standalone. Basically my graphics are set pretty low and I've still got terrible frames. My system has 8gb ram, quadcore i5 650 3.3 ghz, nvidia 650 ti boost with 2 gb dedicated... The only additional program rynning besides standard op programs is steam which I run dayz standalone off of... So what I have tried to do is edit the properties on steam such asput inputs for my cores, threads, ram, vram, no pause etc.... I have also looked at many guides and tried different combos of setting with no improvement. I have also attempted to edit the two notepad files in documents, I changed the suggested view distances etc, but I knowticed no change and several times I have opened the notepad files and settings I changed have reverted to their defualts. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
