Keep in mind that some PUBLIC servers have some buggy loot. Me and my brother spent 20+ hours searching nearly every inland towns for some specific items (Netting, Cooking pots, Gas canisters and Bear traps). We were playing on our server at the time and found 0 of each item. btw it is by vilayer
We swapped to someone else's public server and found all of the above within the hour including 10+ cooking pots/canisters, 7 netting total (in random houses), and 1 bear trap.
Our server didnt exactly seem like it had broken loot, it just had NONE of these specific items. Hope that helps

Sounds good as long as they really add all areas (except military areas, but the towns next to them could be possible).
I would really like a system to spawning rather than the completely random coast one we have now
To add on to the OP's original idea it would be really awesome (in my opinion) if on bigger servers, the respawns happened in short "waves". Where 5 or so people would get dropped off near a city/town
that has been picked to be of medium loot with CLE. Would add a feel of actual competition in my opinion and a sense of limited time whilst having to be careful while raiding buildings for initial items.
The positioning of this idea would put the wave of spawned players in a circle around the nearby town just so that hopefully people dont spawn in getting punched

Dont know if related or not, but my brother had 2 accounts with dayz and he had to download TWO clients to play on the second properly.
They should sort the multiple account/character system soon.

Short opinion but...
The reason they can test extreme difficulties and concepts is because it is alpha
I would assume they take advantage of alpha to test the extremes to a large playerbase to get feedback and results instantly.
Need to figure out what needs to be done to zombies? throw them at players and see what they say.
Loot balancing? test with high amounts and food then remove all of it and see how many people survive

Even if not completely up to date, and if this is accurate at all... this is FUCKING HELPFUL. Too many beans given to count :)

The problem with survival is not with the amount of food you will find, but the lack of resources needed to HUNT, FARM, and COOK food.
Cooking pots/pans are nearly impossible to find and matches are pretty rare although ive seen them
Also since the persistence fixes, the southern coast cities seem to be getting even emptier every minute. Ive checked a building i cleared out 2 days ago and nothing new has respawned at it. The building had like 10 items to start with

I agree on this issue, the desync in general is way too unstable in this game. Even servers with less than 30 ping to my good connection will have desync at times.
This causes people to warp back and forth between where they are on their screen, and where they are server side.
Have you ever been unable to pick up an item? This is because the connection between you client side and server side is bad. The server might think you are outside a building when actually inside.
Also have to comment on running speed and turn rate, cant wait till this gets tuned down a bit (only talking 15% speed decrease and we're good). Of course we'll need more vehicle spawns then

Oh, and when diseases actually get implemented, enjoy your Kuru, Hepatitis A, and various intestinal diseases and parasites.
Eating people should be an absolutely last resort, and you should get infected for doing so.
I cannot wait for the game to get harder still.
You do realize apple picking is highly dependent on RNG/luck.... time will vary.. duh.
Also when the game is finished hopefully it wont take your character 10 minutes to find several apples on a damn apple tree.
Oh and bring on the diseases, thats part of the fun. Hopefully i can get some diseases, fill a syringe with my blood and ninja inject people. Hope i find you, actually.

AFAIK you still need a pot/pan.
but to answer all your questions:
1. Use a knife on a fruit to get seeds.
2. Matches seem to be extremely rare, or dont spawn. Road flares are common and you can light fires with them
3. Pots/pans are not spawning this patch as far as ive seen, so SOL...

AKMs are a little rarer but they do spawn
Ak74s (and Aks74u) are pretty common from previously mentioned military -jeeps-
Have not seen post .55 ak101
There is another common area AKs spawn but ill let you figure that out

Go ahead and be a cannibal, its entertaining and solves your food problem.
Play the game how you want, not how other people want you to.
And shush with the apple trees, it literally takes 2-3 minutes to successfully find an apple, let alone you need to find about 15 to be good. The rate is like 1 in 25 searches

Players have little to no threat in basically every central/eastern inland town because over 90% of the players in my experience take a certain loot route
(Cherno-Balota-Pavlovo-Zeleno-GM-Vybor) or this (Novod-Severograd-NWAF-Vybor)
If they arent on those routes they are very likely on the coast not bothering to explore when they can get their action right where they spawn.
Perhaps we wont need new spawn locations if we get a very large player count...100 players max? (i dread finding loot on these servers..would have to craft 100% of my gear)
Any southeast coast spawns lead to boring fistfights or running with nothing for 10 minutes. Berezino is the welfare gear pvp zone, Elecktro is the universal pvp zone with tons of hackers.
Oh if you have trouble with loot just head inwards 1 town, regardless of how many people there are noone even bothers with them

They should really just add inland spawns (excluding vybor/nwaf).
This would solve the massive imbalance between population in areas on coast vs inland.

Snipers are what give you fear of standing on buildings or out in the open.
Sounds like people are afraid of them then use the excuse that they provide nothing for gameplay.
While he did not describe it exactly as i would, i would agree that they should and are not going away

My favorite is restaurant workers keeping pistol suppressors and long-range scopes under the counters. :)

Had to finally make a forum account just to say it has not been nerfed.
Hit a guy 700 meters on NWAF one shot kill in the legs, he had military clothing and an m4a1.
I actually couldnt even tell he was dead had to have my brother scout his body (whom got ambushed shortly after)
The mosin has been the most consistent weapon for me ALMOST ALWAYS one shot killing people... maybe 2 shots.
I would have to say the AKM is the most consistent after the mosin.
Anything else seems to be largely random. Last patch i tested how much a jacket full of rocks would protect vs a mp5k bullet from healthy status.
Sadly.... got one shot killed in the torso (bullet was not near my heart)
Still need to test .22 vs helmets.
Towns should be FULL of junk loot and very few usable loot

I dont mind shifting towards this, but man they really need to improve their crafting system if this is going to work
