  1. From someone who has this many hours,

    PvMdIiL.png

here are a few reasons why i only play once or twice every month now:

    • Hackers and glitchers is probably the easiest reason. Hackers are scarce after an update, but dupers/wallglitchers/groundglitchers/etc are there after every update. The sad part is that you can reliably find out how to do these in about 10-20 minutes.
    • Time spent for fun/excitement. With items getting rarer, you spend more time finding what you want. This often only pays off for a shortwhile in the current state of pvp and leads to a person taking a break after a death.
    • Lack of reward for killing zombies. Boring zombies. I know that they are adding loot to their bodies soon. Maybe ill return and more people will want to team up at that point.
    • Lack of server capacity to populate map. PVP areas are not varied. Out of our 60 player servers, hardly any of those are spread out. In my opinion there are usually 10 people at NWAF, 5 at kamy(kami?), 5-10 at cherno, 5 at elektro, 3-5 berenzino, 3 at Balota, 3 at three valleys corner (this place sucks arse), 3 at svetlo. Out of all of those only one is not a coastal spawn location. There are probably only like 10 people on average actually roaming the map.

Im sure there are more and better reasons, but after thinking for 10 minutes this is what i came up with first.

  2. The main problem as said in the video, they do no outright damage to blood and health. They will break limbs but cause no damage. Being shot in the chest or head results in a shock-like damage that will cause instant kills most of the time. If you aren't insta-killed you can recover the shock and hidden damage in seconds with a splint/morphine because you don't actually have to regen blood.

  3. They should just add a playercount for everyone to see. Don't argue immersion, some people dont want to end up playing alone on a server and want interaction.

Admins logged in with server password need the original playerlist in my opinion.

  4. I am not sure about being insta-KO'd from near healthy status, but be aware that once you're under 10% blood (500 out of 5000 blood units) you will permanently be KO'd until your blood rises from greenbar status healing or outside sources of help (other players assisting with medical items).

  5. Loss of the player list is extremely annoying to server owners. Why should any of us have to alt tab to external programs to administer the server. What is the reason of getting rid of the playerlist? Just to annoy owners into tabbing back in and out to check names buggy halfarsed gsp tools.

edit: Might as well remove in-game login altogether. Completely worthless now..

  6. The Blaze is the master of taking out single targets, nothing survives two .308 rounds. CQC can fail pretty bad if you dont make those 2 shots count. The LRScope is easier to aim at high distances than the PSO scopes imo, and has more zoom

The SVD can massacre multiple people with the 11 round capacity. It also does well at self defense being semi-auto with 11 rounds. It only suffers slightly less zoom then the long range scope on the blaze.

I'd pick the SVD in most situations other than extreme long range, provided i had both guns with an equal amount of ammo.

  7. Yeah, I really hope they hotfix the season or temperature to go down a little bit. It only takes about an hour of sprinting with clothing on to go into hyperthermia. Thankfully, the ***Hot, Overheating, and Hyperthermia statuses only drain Hydration*** as tested in this video

I'm having the same problem right now. As I type this, I'm unclothed, sitting in a pond, and it's raining. I've been drenched for about 20 minutes solid now. Hyperthermic popped up while I was running in the rain and drenched. I've been wrestling with it for several hours now. Not sure what to try next.

Hey, me and a friend had the same issue yesterday - instant transition from normal to hyperthermic status. I WAS able to lose the status after about an hour of camping an area while drenched laying down with no jacket on. My assumption is that the statuses were just hidden and you've really went way over the hyperthermic meter/limit(?) and it just notified you. Thankfully the only thing i think it does is drain hydration faster...

    2) Reduces the amount of usable items in those spawns, which means that stagnant loot stays there longer untouched. Thus the VSS ammo box pileups.
    3) It encourages players to go on wild goose chases for helicopters where VSS's and SVD's and FAL's spawn. Helicopter hunting sucks. Balls. Big ol' horse balls. Big 'uns. Like grapefruit sized.

I see where you are coming from. However, you are naming an old mechanic.

All loot (even loot that is untouched in its spawn) will refresh (get replaced) in 30 minutes to an hour. Pileups are nonexistent now.

    ok.

so 8 gig of ram is prolly ok then?

and really? sweet! but i really just want to build one, so i can like pay payments basically.

so where did u get urs?

The majority of games wont even use 4GB, but considering you arent extremely good on managing RAM usage... definitely go for 8GB. 8GB is about standard for today's gaming.

If you're looking for a budget build for DayZ performance, then go with an I3 intel processor or a highly overclocked G3258. Intel averages more FPS then amd does for DayZ. Stronger core performance is also better for MMO-type games and older games.

That graphics card is more than enough for medium/med-high 1080p playing. I use it so I know; usage never caps out when playing on med-high 1080p with most extra effects off.

  11. so i spent all day fixing vehicles, i fixed a truck and 2 sedans and none of them move. the screen just jiggles when i rev up. all the tires are pristine., tried on a new server. what am i doing wrong. is this a thing and has anybody else seen it or fixed it?

Its a pretty common problem for me. Having a friend get in as driver usually fixes it for everyone.

If you're solo, ive had good success in this:

    Remove all tires

    Grab one tire into hands

    Relog

Put all tires back on and it should work

    (You need a lug wrench)

  12. Can anyone; especially devs/forum mods, tell me why it takes them 2+ months to release patch notes that any other particular game (including other alphas)  would release on same day of patch?

Is there some sort of actual blocker in getting the patch notes or do the devs just change things in the game without keeping track of it?

Yes, I know there are unofficial changelogs. Yes, ive already looked at the changelogs. I prefer being 100% certain on changes from official logs.

We will get our next update by the time it takes them to post notes.

  13. I wholeheartedly accept the alpha argument. My point was that there are a lot of things that are implemented that have little to no use. And the existing functionality just sucks in many areas. But that is just how DayZ is at the moment.

Sorry that this makes you sick. I hope you feel better soon.

Nearly everything has a use in this game. Just because you may not use it, doesn't mean it does not have a use. I can probably find a use for anything you list. (Aside from car-part tools like wrenches etc) And yes, we're not even in beta yet so in the rare case of a completely pointless item, it will be fixed

  14. Despawn time is unrelated to location and more related to how many other players are nearby afaik. Die and noone else is in the area will usually result in a 5-15 min despawn, if lots of people are camping by the body then it could last for hours

  15. Im not one to complain about any loot but after a hard reset tonight, 3 different servers ive gone to have ZERO loot (searched 2-3 different towns). Private and public

Maybe i didnt search hard enough (~50 houses and police station) but i didnt find a single item of any type...just before the hard reset time i found a couple items like normal

Anybody else experiencing this issue immediately?

Normally i find multiple items nearly every house, its actually too much most of the time. But zero items... on empty servers

Devs probably are tweaking the loot tables realtime and broke it temporarily

  16. Maybe when base building is implemented they can introduce another mechanic where when you logout you DONT dissappear, instead your character goes to sleep where you logoff, requiring you to be in a SAFE and SECURED area. This mechanic may not work with public hives due to obvious limitations.

This idea comes directly from another game... not sure if allowed to name it

  17. OK,

Decay = The amount of time before an UNTOUCHED  item will disappear.

ALL items have a decay time.

Most fruit/food and misc items have a decay time of several days.

Backpacks and tents have the longest decay time of 9-10 days completely untouched.

Guns have a slightly shorter decay time than the above.

Touching the item by dragging/manipulating/storing items/using the item WILL renew the decay time
