    4 hours in...

I got this game a few days ago with 6 hours logged on so far. I love survival games, post apocalypse games and Zombies games. So I felt this game would fit me like a glove. After logging onto a server, without knowing where I was, I spent the next four hours of the game exploring towns, scavenging in houses and improving my character to a point where I felt healthy and energized. I had a found tons of loot. But the game felt odd, after spending all this time, I had only come across a few Zombies, which were easy to dispose of and no human players at all. The would felt empty, like I was wondering through a ghost town and to be frank, a little bit boring. Wouldn’t it be more realistic if the world was filled with more Zombies and less “fresh” fruit? Perhaps this will change over time. Then out of nowhere, while scavenging in a home, I bumped into another player, a fresh spawn more or less. Way cool!~ First human interaction. We both had mic’s and chatted a bit. He knew I was a noob as I was fumbling with my keys trying to make things happen. Now I know what this game was before I purchased it. I knew there was a very good chance he was looking for an opportunity to kill me and take my loot. and I was almost curious to see if he would try that. I had my shotgun ready on me incase I needed to engage in some action. None the less, I was super friendly to him, I gave him a ton a free loot to get started and he said he would lead the way as I stayed behind him. That’s when things took a turn for the worse. I knew full well he might try to pull a sneaky, but I didn’t expect what came next. He turned around and pulled out the .357 that I gave him (Yes, such an incredibly stupid move on my part, lesson learned) and pointed it my direction. But no problem right, I was ready for a firefight, when suddenly I noticed my shotgun wasn't equipped, also what was odd was that he wasn’t firing right away. So I went into my inventory screen and quickly tried to equip my shotgun, lo and behold, it would not equip no matter how many times I tried. He still had not fired yet, so I figure I would make a run for it, and yet again, more strangeness, I could not run, it was like I was running in slow motion. Then… BANG, I’m dead. my question is~ is what happen to me the effect of glitches, my own clumsiness, or the work of a hacker? If I died in a fair and square fight, I can accept that as part of the realism, the survival cut throat reality of the Zombie world where dog eats dog. But the way I died didn’t seem realistic at all, it felt crappy and underhanded and frankly, like the work of a hacker. So I spend the next two hours getting killed quite often strange enough. Having to, in a way, really learn the game. Getting killed by cold, starvation or whatever it was. Learning that server hopping can kill you and Finally bumping into something that vaguely resembles a zombie “horde” (Not sure if 5 zombies can be considered a horde) and getting killed by them. In my humble opinion of being a six hours player, this game would be much more rewarding if there was more PvE elements, such as much more zombies. It would give people more of an incentive to team up if the zombies represent more of a genuine threat. But as is, I think I will now stay as a lone wolf.

How Often Do You Meet Survivors?

I've been playing this game for a some hours now, probably less than you and I found another player 4 hours into the game. But the thing is, I'm not sure you want to meet other players. It seems most people get trigger happy when they see another player. But I would think if you got on a populated server and traveled to a large city, you would probably find more people. or their bullets.

@Gannaf @Kronons @coldatrophy I’ve already chalked up my experience to possible lag, dysnc or even my own clumsiness. That being said, I’ve moved on and have been enjoying the game. This game is a strange one. The first two hours into this game I found it boring and I was regretting buying it, now many hours later I’m a total addict and can’t wait until the next time I can get on. I understand there are still bugs and it's still in development. Such as yesterday, when I logged onto a server and right off the bat a zombie was attacking me. But this game is very rewarding and has much potential.

Hello Zelot37, I don't know much about dsync, but that might have been what it was. It was just my initial knee jerk reaction to think it was a hacker. I do look forward to future updates.

Thanks for the response Impulz, I actually removed my complaint about the graphics before I saw your post. Later thinking about it, I felt it was to harsh of a complaint for a first post, but thanks anyway for the info. The lag is one thing I didn't think about and that could very well have been what it was.

I get that. It's just a crappy feeling to put four hours into a game to loose it all to a hacker.
