I collected 15 or so rags, went to a remote location, dropped one on the ground, logged off and went to another server. Dropped a single rag in the same location, logged off and went to another server. Rinse and repeat until I’m out of rags. Play my other character for about 6 hrs and then go back and check on all my rags. Only one remained and I think it was because that server didn’t restart. So to those asking, persistence is still not enabled. DON’T DROP YOUR $HEIOT if you want to keep it. I’ve been doing a lot of zombie watching and I’ve noticed that when you’re within a certain distance they tend to wonder towards your location. I have lain in open fields, behind buildings and in the woods motionless for long periods of time and zombies slowly but surely end up right next to me. I don’t know the distance that this begins to happen but the furthest I’ve witnessed this was about 50 meters or so. If it was all just a coincidence it’s happened about 8 of 10 times I tested it. I also don’t understand how a headshot with a 22 will instantly drop an unsuspecting zombie but a shot to the head with the same gun while they are charging does not drop them. It takes two. I tried this 8 or 9 times with the same results. Ruined many jackets. I dropped a tent in front of a zombie, climbed in and closed the flap to see what would happen, bad idea. Zombies clip straight through tents like they weren’t even there. She walked in and spanked me like I deserved.

I’ve just finished playing a 6 hour session on the new build and although the scarcity of loot has been a challenge I’ve managed to figure out how and where to collect equipment and food to survive. Loot is sporadic but I am finding items in civilian areas that before could only be found and military or helicopter locations (ie… ammo cans, hand grenades, AK74, high cap vest). HINT: don’t ignore outhouses anymore! The new Zbees are a real pain in the arse. I don’t mind the more challenging opponent but like some have pointed out, the melee action from our point of view needs some serious work. I got my arse handed to me from a lady Zed and before I could get a swing in, I had a helmet and a high cap vest ruined. She actually hit me several times without being in arms reach. On another occasion a military Zed hit me multiple times without even swinging. The axe no longer has that glorious appeal it once held. Might as well be swinging a stick. On a positive note, I’ve found chainsaws are quite effective if you can find one and the stun baton is beautiful weapons against Zeds. Who would have thunk that two whacks with a baton kills them dead! I used to walk past the baton but now I’m collecting every battery I can find. I don’t know what’s going on with the persistence issue but this also needs fixing. I’ve found and set up three different tents (on three different servers) and lost them all and their contents when logging off. I began experimenting on servers I frequently play on and drop backpacks, re-log and when I get back everything is gone. It really sucks to put in that kind of time just to lose your whole camp site. I still love the game but I hope this gets some attention soon. BTW anybody got a book of matches they’d like to trade?

Couple more ideas, Burlap sack on head and coached by team mate through obstacle course Zombie magnet. Who can get the most zombies to chase them Lumberjack competition. Cut and carry the most wood in a set time Roshambo using F1 (wave), F4 (finger), or F7 (thumb) in place of rock paper scissors Meat hunting competition. Who can come back with the most steaks Civil war. Only guns that require magazines but no magazines allowed. Must reload after each shot, only given 10 rounds

Here are a couple ideas for your event. Cover charge: To enter everyone should bring a backpack filled with party items (chem lights, cans of bacon, flares, other items needed for activities) Old west gunfight with flare guns Boxing tournament Scavenger hunt (randomly place backpacks with notes giving clues to next location) Climbing races (ladders, rocks, any dangerous surface with potential for injury) Shot put competition Capture the flag or smear the queer (keep away) using backpacks and stun batons Bat fights (only leg hits) must wear motorcycle helmets Fire walking (barefoot) Lay down and roll relay race (this should make the avatar operator want to puke)

This is interesting. I just assumed admins had this capability or a similar way of monitoring their maps. The other day I logged into a server and while I was getting my 60 second countdown a voice came over my headphones saying "player (called me out by my ingame name), log off this server immediately or you will be killed. I will give you 10 seconds to comply", and then started counting down. I canceled out and continued my adventure on a different server with no harm done. At first I was pissed because I didn't think it was right for someone to host a public server but threaten new arrivals but after thinking about it for a while I guess it was a decent gesture allowing me time to get out without loosing all my gear. I assumed it was the server admin and he had to have a special monitoring ability to call me out before I even logged in. Any ideas on how this was done?
