Well currency concerning the trading part is meant to have more safe trades. Actually 80-90% of all trades are baits of griefer groups, that just shoots you down. Is that really the trade you want? Adding in a non lootable currency would actually not reward the griefers on top of this, as they can actually not get access to it.

i think a delay of 30 seconds shouldnt be that much of an issue. As you are aware of this you can look for a safe place to log of. -
''Hey give me your colt for a transfusion so i can kill you with your fresh new 12k hp afterwards derp" This is what happens most of the time. But as I'm talkin of a currency that is not connected to your inventory and cannot be looted people would really have to make an exchange to get to your money.

Alright maybe no L4D zombies. But an improvement is needed.I heard of a weird zombie mechanic. If a zombie aggros on a player, the players computer takes the task to generate the AI e.g. your computer decides what happens. This causes the notorious lagging Zeds. Because it just takes to long to transmit information. This also causes the Zeds to disappeard upon disconnecting. The calculations should become server sided, although it would take insane amounts of the servers capacity. But i would deny reconnecting to stay alive(for the Zed part). You would need to change servers to get rid of them. To their AI itself: They move weirdly and very fast what makes it pretty hard to shot them while they run. But hard is actually was the mod is supposed to be. Not as a zombiegrindergame compared to Painkiller etc,

Sad but true... I'm for the 30second delay. Would help alot actually. Seems Rocket has to be creative with the implementation of rested logout. -
Players camping towns for new players
DestinyAscension replied to John Johnson's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I do this sometimes by myself aswell. Not for just killing newly spawned players. On the one hand i actually have seen everything and got everything in the current life and lack late game content. So i look for some exciting PVP. On the other hand, i'm carebearing like shit for my crash site loot. This makes me decide to camp innocent players. Kinda dick move tbh and I sometimes even feel pity with the guys. Sometimes i'm laughing and rofl after a kill. Another time i just think: Maybe i told him a lesson not using his Enfield on the open fields. To the topic. An immunity would maybe prevent being killed. But if you do this, you could let them spawn with an AK and some survival gear aswell. Immunity is a free ticket to everythin mentioned before. -
Just to make one point clear: Have you been in a Zs apocalypse yet except dayZ? Can you for sure say currency is not developping? An apocalypse in my eyes is also a kind of reset of a civilization(if there are survivors). A new start. everything will develop to the state as it was before. Maybe better. People just dont want to stick in that mess forever. Progress is wanted to be made.

@aversionfx You know how money just got invented? People searched for a way to avoid trading in exchange for other items. Imagine a peasant got 1 Kilo of corn and wants to get some milk. The shepherd actually does not need 1 kilo of corn but 10 eggs. So now the Peasant with the corn has to look for 10 eggs to be traded in for his 1kilo of corn in order to get his litre of milk. To avoid this complicated and time wasting way, they looked for a currency. An overall payment system which is used for every trade. So now the peasant can sell his kilo corn for 5pieces of gold. And with this gold he can now purchase his milk. Thats what a currency would actually be good for. Regarding to the zombie apoc = no currency: I clearly stated that i don't think of an entirely doomed world. And as we all havent seen such an apocalypse yet we cannot say, that there wont be currency anymore. I took an example of several games like Fallout, Metro and Stalker. Now some people will say:" K GO PLAY DIS GAME THEN". Stating that a currency is a means of governmental control is wrong. Even the most forgotten tribes of black africa have currencies aswell. For example seashells. They may have a chief though, but this cannot be called a government. That a currency system would make the game easier is not a must. With some good balancing and appropriate penalties up on death it should get quite hard so save enough. I was not saying 10k a zombies head and 3500bucks for a chopper, Thats just not real. I can see this by myself.

Hi everyone, I'm quite an enthusiastic DayZ player and I really appreciate the work of the Devs. It's really fun to play and i'm pretty satisfied with what it offers. But i'm actually missing a currency system in the game, like in every RPG. I came to this idea because back in the days we still had the side chat, people often called:"Trade gun for transfusion, gun etc." I always wondered how they would be doing it and not just bait and kill each other. It is important, that you keep every single buck from life to life, just so players maintain a certain status and dont have to start over and over again. Maybe a respawn could cost a %-age of your wealth but not everything. Just as little penalty upon dying .Well there may remain some questions about this. Money in a Zombie-Apocalypse wtf? Where the hell should i spend it?? In my scenario i don't see the entire world doomed. I rather compare it to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in which just a certain area is contaminated. I thought about placing military checkpoints at the edge of the world with some NPCs. Why would they be there? Just as in stalker, that the infection does not escape the area. With these NPCs players could trade their cash to weapons, gear, small vehicles(motor- and bicycles , ATVs) etc. These NPC places could also act as kind of nokill- and spawnzone. Not sure about the nokillzone. One thing's for sure. They would be hotspots and would be camped. So there need to be many. The NPCs would also offer a a closet to the player for some bucks, which can be used to store some high value items. Not much though. Maybe 1-2 weapons and 10 slots of gear. Just so you have a backup plan upon dying. This is just to maintain a certain status, comparable to a Level system in RPGs. Just it can be rollbacked. How would i earn my money at all? The beginning of all money should be a certain amount of cash as soon as the feature would be implemented. But of course there should be more ways. The main source of income should be killing zombies. It would make killing Zs more rewarding and even new players have the chance to access some easy bucks. The amount shouldnt be to high as grinding bucks for OP gear is not intended. It just servers as moneygenerator. The focus of earning money should be trading and helping eachother out. Also selling items like fuel tank parts or scrap metal to the NPCs could yield a good amount. Taking the usage of inventoryspace and the dangerous travels into account there should be quite a big payment in the end. I also connected a bounty system with my idea. If you kill innocent players, a bounty will automatically be set on your head. Not sure about that because many banditing players might complain. But bounty usually is prestige for bandits isnt it? :) If not automatically placed, I would say players can put bounty on somebody's head. But you would have to know the name of the bandits then. Players should not know that the player infront them has got a bounty on his head. But there should be a Top-5-Bounty list at the NPC camps. So accidental kills in self defense are not a problem at all. All in all, bountyhunting would be a way to earn money. NOT only for survivors as bandits often kill each other aswell. Players should not know that the player infront. The next way to get some bucks would be trading with other players. Trade a custom amount of money for something you need. If it is a gun, a transfusion, food - just everything. I though about a special way for bandits to earn money. Players should spawn with a dogtag which can be taken. Maybe there could be added an NPC banditcamp where you can trade this dogtag for bucks. Just as a way to stop camping and encourage the bandits to really confirm their kill. The fact that you would lose a %-age of your money upon dying would reduce the farming of those dogtags. Also giving the bounty to one of your bandit friends wouldn't be possible when you lose more buck then you receive. So far to earning money. What is this shit all about? Is there any deeper sense in this stupid idea??!? Yes there is. The very first and most important thing of my idea would be, that players, that really invest time in this mod, dont have to start all over again all the time. Also this idea should enable more social interaction in form of trading. If you want to earn your money you really need to help the person out to reveive it. Although scamming might be a problem that needs to be fixed. I did not intend to adress a "problem of banditry" by adding in a bounty. I just want to make it more rewarding for "the good ones" to kill a bad guy. Also the zombie hunt gets more rewarding as now every single kill would yield cash. Even some worthless items, such as scrap metal which is really rarely used would now get some more reputation. And maybe it even would kick out griefing. It hardly yields money and has no longterm use. As people will lose a %-age of their collected wealth they WILL definately care about surviving. We are all human and we dont give away freebucks. Mhh..this should be everything for now. I apologize for typos and wrong grammar. Just in case :).It's 5am and i didn't read over my own wall of text once more ^^ . And I am very thankful for your attention so far. I hope i could convince some of you of my idea. Also dont forget to let me know what you think! Improvements to this idea? Or do you think it sucks ass? If youre interested in this topic stick to it, as i will update THIS post right here with. Either information i forget or new ideas(by myself or other post. I will link you to them aswell). I am really looking forward to your opinions. Please be constructive and polite. I'd like to have a nice and clean discussion here.

natural feeling "stress" system
DestinyAscension replied to antiskub2.0's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well. I'm actually not sure about this idea. It would increase the difficulty of banditry a lot and i think people should not be punished for their gameplay by autopiloting them to death. And it would not reduce the amount of griefers, that grab the next best gun and kill everything. If you wanted to adress the banditry with this system, i guess you hit the wrong ones. I can just repeat myself. Bandits are not the problem. Griefers are the ones that are needed get rid off. -
Consequences of player killing - a new direction!
DestinyAscension replied to heretic (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No. Imagine, as an honest player you are scavenging Cherno. Suddenly some griefing guy opens fire. You're lucky and got cover. Phew just a scratch. As you sneak out of your cover you see the griefer reloading. You take the chance and you go for the kill. Now YOU are the bandit. Getting spammed by voices, steps, shots etc. This would really piss me off as a non-bandit -
What if everyone started with a tent?
DestinyAscension replied to andrew99's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Rather no. Most new players dont have anything to stash in their tents. Tents would become kinda spammable and ruin the landscape. Btw you can destroy other people tents, ever used a grenade? or vehicles? Works fine. -
Just flipped my truck yesterday with a shitload of stuff. I admit jumping off cliffs may not be intended, but it starts pissing me off.
-
No. Simply No. The mod is way to easy without bandits. Especially if all 50 Players on a server are forced to play together. It is kinda like singleplayer then, just easier. @Pte.Robinson-6th AB- Please stop spamming your pretty unfunny memelink in every 'banditry'-post. Either get a better one or let it be.

Not a bad idea imo. Why not? Coding work? There are already a kind of containers in the game like corpses or medical boxes, even vehicles. I'm sure it could be carried over to some closets and chests aswell. And it seems some people didnt get the topic. Maybe i didn't, but i guess the TE was not talking about carrying chairs and tables with you. I guess it is about taking guns etc out of a closet just as you take butter out of your fridge. Nothing to do with troll at all.
