I was looking at the issue tracker yesterday trying to get an idea of what would be included in last night's fix, but I couldn't figure it out. Is there a changelog, as you say, there that might get me closer? I filtered for 'closed' issues that were changed recently, and that gave me some things... but there are issues that aren't closed that have a comment indicating that "this is scheduled for fix" - but no more information than that. I was hoping that the annoying car issues would be resolved, some of them are marked for fix, but I dont know when.

Thank you for sharing your experiences on experimental. I dont have time to play experimental, so it is valuable for me that you try it out and find things before it makes it to stable... however, please report bugs you find in experimental in the bug tracker! This is how they will get fixed before they get to stable. As a developer on something else entirely, our entire team spends our time working reported bugs, not working on things reported in forums... the bug report interface is incredibly important to use for this stuff if it is going to get fixed! If it is only put here on the forums, it will not get fixed before it gets to stable, and then people will complain about how this issue was in experimental, so why didn't they fix it?

I agree, but if Dayz were to be trying to be realistic, then there are a number of things that would need to change. For example, I shouldn't be able to hear people talking after I'm dead, mocking me. I shouldn't be able to fix a fractured leg by applying a splint, etc. DayZ isn't trying to be exactly the same as reality, and where it doesn't do so it is because reality would ruin the game.

It seems like the loot tables were changed this past wednesday to be more like they were before 0.55. I liked it more how it was before, even though there were some silly things like pile-ups in the outhouses (and I don't mean that kind of pileup). I actually want the game to be harder, the zeds harder and survival harder. I also want it to be harder for people to kill you. This week I've been one-shot killed four times, three of those times I didn't even hear a gun shot, just black screen and I'm dead. All of those times I was wearing a helmet, I guess that didn't help at all. Its incredibly frustrating to finally get some gear only to suddenly just die, without any clue why. I know, I know, this is dayz and I should be more careful, and I am not complaining just making some constructive feedback.

Why would you empty the clips to take the bullets? Why not just take the clips with the bullets, they are more useful that way, aren't they?

I had an infected chase me down in a town, when I had no mele weapon, except a flashlight. I ran into a house and closed the door and was hoping that it would give up. It ran over to the window and watched me through the window, and when I crept forward, it moved forward. It was really eerie, it could for sure see me in there, and was reacting to my movements. I ended up opening the door, circling around and locking her in the house instead :)

Simple: 1. you take a stone knife and you stab a can of beans until you get a hole in it. 2. try to open the hole with knife so you can get beans out 3. watch in horror as 70-80% of your hard earned beans spill on the ground, while you are starving to death 4. eat 12% remaining, notice no change to starving to death 5. leave lost beans on the ground for the ants, even though starving to death

It used to be if you crafted a stone knife, you could use that to open cans an would always get a very high percentage on those cans. That has been fixed now (I think it is a good fix, I dont see any reason stone knives should be better than something else). However, since we are on the subject, I dont really see the reality factor here... you open a can with a blunt object and it says you lost some on the ground and then the can says 12% or whatever. If I was starving and I had to use steak knife to open a can of beans, and some of those beans dropped on the ground, I am going to eat those beans from the ground, sand and all.

Before wednesday, I packed up my tents and gear and logged off. When I read there was problems with tents, I've stayed off the public hive to wait out the issues. Been playing private ever since, here are my impressions, overall, I think this is a big improvement! . I like the new zeds, and actually think they could be harder, but I think when they start grouping up it will add to that . many glitches have been fixed (like stone knives aren't nearly 100% perfect at opening cans, this stun baton has killed over 6 zeds without totally killing the battery, it is reduced, but its working...for example) . I like the low loot situation, its way harder to survive, but there are still things that need tweaking: only hats, IV kits and shoes in houses, but outhouses are stacked with random things (I found two press vests, four glasses, six hats, and some other stuff in one). I'm finding a lot of fishing lures, seeds and lime, but no shovels or hoes. Not sure how I can survive if I can't dig to get worms or plant things, or see a single animal.... Seems like I should be able to dig with my hands, but how would I kill an animal with what I have?... I spawned near Rify, so I headed to small towns towards Olsha, waaaay out north east in Torovo, Dubroe, Belaya Polana... places I'd never been in before, hitting all the small spots that didn't even have names, checking everywhere. I spent hours trying to find things, probably 6+ and so far I found only a sporter, no ammo at all. I managed to find some powdered milk and surprisingly a PET bottle, so I stayed alive by eating berries along the way and stabbing cans of food down to 12% to open them. and then eating them. Amazingly, I found a tent in a toilet, so I put all the rags, seeds, and fishing lures and other random little things like rope and other things that might be useful if I can find some other stuff in there and finally logged off -- way out at the end of the world. I haven't seen a soul on this 50 pop server, but it seems like every town has been totally cleared out. I'm surprised I'm still alive, but I'm sure the first time I find someone else, they are going to kill me immediately with some m4 or mosin that they carried over from before the reset. I had two other experiences, both on private: spawned in Cherno, couldn't find anything, some guy comes up to me and asks me if I need any help. He gives me EVERYTHING he has, so he is in his underwear, and then takes off. I round the corner and some jokers mow me down with a AKM and say it was my fault for being in a high pvp area with loot. Second spawn I'm in elektro, search everywhere, can't find anything, no food, nothing. I'm dying. I go to the top of the police station and I start yelling, "ANYBODY THERE? I'M GOING TO DIE OF STARVATION AND NEED HELP!" 50 people on the server, and nobody was in elektro, I ended up starving to death.

You mean a smersh backpack? Now try to find the vest that you need to attach to it...

How do you see your FPS? I found an option in steam to add an overlay in games, but I'm very skeptical that it is accurate. I have a fairly decent video card (radeon 5870) and a xeon E3-1241v3 (haswell) and it feels like my FPS is lower than it should be even though the game isn't optimized.

You can carry military tents in your hands
-
How do you move those items from the old backpack to the new one at the end? You are doing it fast, I always have to right click on each item to bring up the menu to take it, or drag it into the new slots, which is really slow

Persistance is broken, see this issue about it (and vote it up! Its been broken since the 0.54 update, not just last night's update): http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=22040 Note: I don't know if last night's update changed anything about this. I also don't know if this is tents only, or other things are also lost. I've lost two military tents and one regular tent because of this, and now I just can't use tents, which is pretty annoying!
