Hi all, hoping someone can help me! I'm trying to meet up with my buddy on Off The Grid server. But there is another server called "You are now, Off the Grid". Is it possible to be jumping between similarly named servers? Can a server change it's name at any time? The reason I ask is because ive now made 2 characters, one on OTG and the other on "YANOTG". I haven't seen YANOTG on my server list in a while so i figured they changed names to just OTG. Anywho, i log on today on OTG and its loaded my old char from YANOTG server!! So I'm very confused. I just want to know if there are indeed 2 separate servers that are similarly named. But also, how is it possible to log on to one server but have it come up with the char and location from the other?? Thanks!

if chernarus has military bases then it would stand to reason they'd have some kind of military riot gear, no? i would think that would make you tougher to die by zombie, but not bullet proof. i would like to see some riot gear if only to help with zombie defense. even if it's 1 arm pad or shin pad or something. like a set you would have to complete (one piece each limb).

ive found a ton of 7.52x39 ammo actually. but i agree there seems to be a ton of sks' out there. ive been lucky enough to find 2 protector cases. never seen a smersh vest just the backpacks. granted i haven't been searching the most heavily populated mil spawns yet. weapons ive found in about 100hours: 1x longhorn 2x sportsters 3x mosins 1x repeater million makarovs 1x cr75 20x sks 2x izh43 1x mp133 1x cr527 but yeah, would love to find some kind of assault rifle but i don't know if that's worth the risk lol

Made that for my laptop today. Had to cut it free hand so it looks a tad ghetto but at least it's a good scratch protector lol

Thatd be cool to use as an ambush as well. Say you can tie them up with some duct tape but they break free in 15 minutes. You could find a high loot spot and drag a few z's there and close the door. That way in a while they all break free and are waiting for an unsuspecting victim to wander in.

Agreed it should take a while longer to make a fire using that method. Although crafting shouldnt be tough since its literally a stick with a rope lol

Where are you guys finding them? I have yet to find a xbow, lots of bolts and arrows tho so im assuming the same places those spawn?

So does that mean you can turn off the effects of dieing? (The saturated colours and blurriness)

You can also find warming packs (those gel type things to warm your hands up). I dont know how effective those are tho. I also wonder if using one in your pants plus a jacket or vest would add to the warmth...

any word if combining a stick and rope to make a bow type fire starter is coming down the pipe?

while waiting for my friend to start in on the fun of dayz. i've been scavenging a few things in a stash for him for when he arrives. (nothing great so even if he arrives after server reset on wednesday it's no big deal). but while out today looking for a mosin for him i came across an Izh43, used the hacksaw i had on me (for just such an occasion) so now i have my sks and another primary to carry on me that only uses up 4 slots in my bag. ate a can of sardines and a kvass and hopefully it'll stop raining when i return lol
