if you're on a server that works, yes it is apparently. don't shoot him down when you clearly haven't been on any empty servers.

yes its quite common. don't listen to those that say you're a lazy, dress wearing failbot who needs to l2p. just switch servers until you find one that actually has some stuff. it took me roughly 8 server changes in private to find one that actually has working loot.

it all depends on the server you are on. some have literally nothing but books and hard hats even inland. while others have things all over the place even at the coast. it's luck of the draw to which server you find. so if your server has a proper loot table, stay there! lol

New day. Decided to check a server i've never played on. Higher ping, more people. Spawn outside cherno, run in, lots of people running around shooting. I see 2 people, one of whom i found dead a short time after spotting him. For some reason i couldn't loot him tho. I checked pulse and it said "no pulse and body feels warm" but i couldn't take any of his gear.... not that he had much, crowbar, gas mask, childrens backpack, 2 cans of food, stone knife, nothin major. obviously encountered one of the guys firing shots. anyways. it didn't matter, because this server has loot!!!! after barely finding a damn thing all patch long on the other servers i play on. this one actually had some stuff. and that was on the coast of all places. found a jacket quick, and a can of tactical bacon. then went to the police station and found a rak with 2 mags, 2 mags of mp5, a pump shotgun and lots of clothes. other servers i played on. 2 police stations i was in only had handcuffs and worn keys. im convinced that i'll have to just ditch my other chars and continue to search for servers that aren't broken like those others. good luck to all of you guys struggling, just switch servers until you find one that works properly. then hope that the update fixes the currently broken ones.

what about apples and berries? that's all ive eaten since the start of .55 and ive never been energized. been hydrated tho.

after heading north a few days ago on the newest spawn through khelm and black lake. i started out tonight in olsha, starving. spoke with thewire and decided to meet up south of the neaf. headed west and cleared the neaf with no luck. met up south near some small housing plots while i was picking apples. he was nice enough to give me a water bottle and some blue berries. i had no problems after eating about 6 of them, so i'm pretty confident they don't make you sick. picked apples for a while chatting with thewire about where we should head to next. we decide to try out kranostav. we fill our bottles and our stomachs with water at the closest well then jog through the forest to krano. check a few sheds/houses after thewire downs a zed with his longhorn for shits and giggles (no horde came after the shot btw). nothing in our search so we decide to head to black mountain. check there and nothing. so we downed a few more apples atop of black mountain checking out the scenery. good apples and good conversation, that was my dayz today. sounds boring but it was the most fun i've had this patch. didn't find a damn thing (typical) ate apples and berries (typical) but got to hang out with a friendly which is usually pretty rare. cheers!

Agreed. While i poke fun at hardmode pumpkin farmers, i direct my comments to those who solely imply that because myself and others who are unfortunately playing on broken servers, are noobs who are lazy need to l2p when they clearly dont know the situation. I am not quitting the game because i understand these things are constantly tweaked. And if the hardmode guys love the game they are playing, then id love to experience it as well. Because they dont seem to understand that the game we are playing (broken server loot) is really not very fun for anyone.

The co2 helps them grow. And then i sit and guard them from the pumpkin bandits so that my ultimate survivor pumpkin patch will be safe. Who needs to explore and find loot when you can play farmville defender like the cool hardcore kids. :)

but the expert hardmode players are never wrong.... we're all just lazy. i guess we shouldve been more hardmode and made things materialize out of thin F'in air!

they might as well just remove all the guns and let everyone beat each other with farming equipment over plots of pumpkins. farmville with weapons lol

How would taking away food and loot solve this situation? If anything there would be MORE of this behavior. Just without the melee weapons or funny clothes because they only have 20 minutes to fist fight before they starve and start over.

Me too, survival at its best. im looking forward to being able to guard my farm from pumpkin bandits. Or the challenge of dealing with rotten tomatos! What if they introduce gophers that might eat some of my zuccini crop? Now those are the true trials and tribulations of the zombie survivor...

Downed a zombie with a nuckle sandwich tonight. 2 hits to the head and she was down. Then another zombie silent ninjad me in a house and while i was punching her it sounded like gunshots, unless that was her magic tentacles. took a few more than 2 head hits but it wasn't more than 6-8 i think. i was bleeding like a pig but only my pants were ruined. i was in Shakhovka. found a damaged kitchen knife and brass kuckles, binoculars, hard hat, pack of .380 ammo, damaged canteen with 20% in it, no food. the berry bush gave me 4 berries in 20 attempts (did they buff it?) apple tree gave 1 apple in 10 attempts. New point: why can't we punch while crouched? i want to be able to have the option of giving these bastards some "shattered dreams" action. or for the ladies, a straight shot to the ovaries.

Anyone else excited for the new renderer and the direct x 11 on its way?? Think of a world where your fps is constantly over 100 and no lag or desynch, allowing you a totally uninterupted, and fully immersive, apple-picking experience. Also, with new sound editing youll be able to almost taste each juicy,crunchy bite as you chow down on that glorious treat you found after 15-20 attempts. Only another year to go until beta. Dare i risk to think there might even be several varieties of apples to be picked by then?? The anticipation is killing me!! :)

i got no problems eating apples but like you pointed out, people are still starving because you have trees full of fruit but it takes you 5-10 mins to find an apple. Then you die because you cant eat enough from a full tree to make you last until youre far enough in land to find actual stuff. So we agree there needs to be tweaking is that what youre saying? Kinda like the part i said that we are testers giving feedback?

Just for your info ive never ever been a fan of fps'ers. I dont play cod and i was more than happy with rockin an sks and a few rounds while exploring the map and seeing new towns prior to this patch. I had a few encounters with people but mostly got kosd. I tried to avoid people at all costs but eventually (like 3 days before .55 came out) i was finally geared with some decent clothes and a nice gun (Which i only got from kind traders making trades with me). Now its gone so far the other way id only want to see someone if i could shoot and eat them (if my new spawns could find a gun) But yeah, the way the loot system is now, might as well make jam if you die of starvation in 15 minutes while searching empty towns making you way north.

Havent gotten sick yet eating blue or red ones :)
