Bandits vs Survivors (We should change our mindset..)

To be honest if I meet some one and they don't immediately run away I shoot, way to many times have I had some one be nice and shoot me, with a team i don't need extra hands so there is only the small chance of them getting in first or my aim being off as a down side. However if there is distance or they have not seen me they can continue on their way. The difficulty here is that there is nothing at all that can be used to be certian that as soon as you say hello to some one they wont shoot you as soon as you turn away. The bandit clothing was a good start but due to self defense and general conflicts out side of backstabbing it looses a lot of its value it just needs to be refined some what, perhaps a friendly bond you can create (ie introduce your self) that if you then break that you loose humanity / become bandit. This would give people the ability to feel some what secure with direct interactions, this bond should not carry over to new characters after death but the penalty should (much in the same way that humanity does now, but perhaps with out any buffer to start with). A cool down so you can cancel it tell the other person to go f**k them selves and walk away then 5 mins (of the other persons online time) later you can shoot them with out loss of humanity they get that time to move away / prepare them selves. This would promote both conflict and cooperation. -

They are pretty obviously supposed to be an unrepairable wreck. The blades are bent and a little twisted' date=' it's buried in the ground a little, and you can only enter the door gunner position. [/quote'] I guess you mean then that the difference is that the wreck one has bent rotors and can only be entered through the gunners position, while the repairable one does not have bent rotors and can be entered from other positions? thanks for being helpful, i like many have not seen a repairable Helo yet so am unable to compare hence why i asked for the differences.. -

Is it possible to tell green and grey apart at night with out a white light? are there any other distinguishing features? Found one last night killed a friend but i could not see any loot guess i was missing something. -

I just thought about dead characters getting up and walking around looking for brains will make them certainly more difficult to loot if you have the chance of notifying the locals that you are there when you go to shoot them again. -
Interesting suggestions, however with the restrictions on placing camp fires (right out in the open) that there are at the moment I would feel it was a little to much.

In b4 It's alpha. No wait its alpha you seriously can't say you are expecting not to have wipes randomly and often.

ARMA2 does not allow for the changing of character models apart from equipment loadout in a session, however ARMA3 will :). I do like the possibility of choosing at spawn though, still headache where many better features and fixes are needed.

Is it only me that loves to hate the random spawning you at the furthers point from where you died want to be? With spawning / meeting up being in greater control you would cheapen death considerably. I am already wondering if the "waiting for server" roulette upon death getting fixed will detract some what from the game play. Equipment loss is only as harsh as the difficulty of replacing it, friends and control of location make this a lot easier.

To clarify this is the BETA version for the next ARMA2: OA version, not the next DayZ mod version.

That is an excellent idea I love it, loot the body quick before it gets back up (random delay?).. perhaps an additional option to burn a body will stop it getting back up? keep the bury for after you have shot them for the second time. -
Keep Them I like seeing at least some high Res models, seriously though until a better recognition system is available get rid of them.

To be honest this is only an issue right now with the server stability and accessibility, once servers are stable and we are able to connect to our preferred server with out issue where will the problem be?

Yes some work on the inventory system would be nice, if it possible I doubt. I find my self wishing for 2 primary weapons a lot of the time, however I am sure that the hard choice of what weapon you choose adds a significant amount to the games feeling, it also promotes group play with a variety of weapons and greater chance to find specialist ammo. -
