It'd go up the higher you set the texture quality, but as the GT520 is an entry level GFX the extra RAM is only a marketing gimmick (I'm afraid). You could try increasing the textures and see how it effects performance. Conundrum, you're right. Setting it to "low" puts the stress on the CPU instead of the GFX card. -
Don't forget a lot of the FPS issues are attributed to the server you're playing on along with the DayZ mod itself. If you look at the change log notes, you'll see Rocket & co do a lot to tidy up certain elements that can cause the FPS to drop. 1.7.1.5 was perfect for me performance wise, 1.7.2.3 is freaking awful. It's a bit of hit 'n' miss; I've gone through changing config settings & startup parameters and they do benefit me when the 'right' patch comes out for DayZ, but it's just something that we have to learn to live with when it's not (the right patch). My rig consists of an overclocked Q9550, 4GB of DDR3 and a 2GB AMD HD6970 - more than enough to play this game with decent settings. With 1.7.1.5 at 3360 x 2100 I was getting a steady 40FPS unless I use binos. With 1.7.2.3 I have 25-30FPS which gets worse the longer I play. I'm really looking forward to the next update to DayZ as I'm hoping it'll improve my frames. :D

I usually just refresh the link after clicking cancel and that usually starts it. I think it may be to stop people from crippling the servers. -

Had a few teething issues getting BattlEye installed last night. Once done, I've noticed a massive FPS drop to the point where it is almost unplayable. However I'll will be "testing" again tonight to see if it was the server (load) causing issues. -
Apparently the latest beta patch 94945 causes issues but if you're having difficulties with 94876 it might be worth trying 94945. However, before doing that, try updating with Six Launcher.

Sorry the late reply. I have a 2GB HD6950 flashed to a 6970 and then OC'd. I even run the game at 200% my native resolution; 1680 x 1050 and my frames have stayed the same. -
Download the latest beta patch. Install it as normal and then you can either create another shortcut for the beta enabled version or just add =beta to the start in where you have the mod tag. Sorry about the image but I'm at work and don't have access to ArmA.... ... if you have the Steam version you have to put it into the Properties>Set Launch section. Hope that helps.

I think I'm probably the only person here that might actually have better performance. I played for an hour or two tonight and the game felt better than it did before. I'll definitely report back if I notice any drops. :) -
Full Explanation of Icons in Bottom Right

Welcome to the DayZ forums Tokae. Your right about the mask icon, that shows how good/evil you are. The more your humanity goes up the 'happier' the icon appears. The lower it goes, the 'angrier' it appears. The temperature icon will come into effect with the new 1.5.8.2 patch. The two white icons; the first being the broken bone is as you've stated. The other is a disconnection penalty. For example, before 1.5.8.2 if you fall off a ladder and it appears, if you were to disconnect, the next time you rejoin a server you'll be penalized. I've never had it happen to me but I believe if you do try to rejoin you'll be presented with the egg timer and have to wait a set amount of time before you can carry on playing. I hope that explains it for you. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. :D See you somewhere Chernarus. Have fun, stay safe. -

Hmmm... one of my real life friends (who I introduced to the mod) is a something awful forum member so wears the LLKJ tag. He definitely wouldn't use this exploit. I've shown him this thread and he'll most likely have to remove his tag, which from the sound of things won't be a bad thing. Why is it that a bunch of douchebags have to ruin it for the majority? My friend was telling me that the tag (LLKJ) was to tell other SA forum members apart so they aren't dicks to each other. A day or two after this, he then tells me that a lot of LLKJ members are now killing and personally targeting people from SA. Seriously, how pathetic! Now an innocent DayZ player has to forgo a tag that he should be proud to wear. Sigh. -

You just have to be patient. Don't forget this is an alpha for a mod that has gone from 0 players to over 60,000 in 4 weeks. The server is being stressed all the time. If it takes longer than an hour to connect, restart your router and try again. -
