If nobody responds after a day or so I'd recommend that you tweet this to one of the devs.

You're right about most of what you stated. One thing that I should further clarify is why PVP was so big in the east, and I think it'll make a lot more sense. First thing that I should say is that military loot used to be very very uncommon. The game used to be about forty people running the coast with shotguns, mosins, sks, and pistols-all of which could be found on the coast in the backs of trucks or in homes. You were more than welcome to run to NWAF, but the likelihood of even seeing an AKM was not guaranteed, and an AK 101 was worth losing your shit over. Now everyone has an M4, a gun that used to only drop from helis for a very big portion of SA's history. So in order to compete, you have have to run to the NW portion of the map. The game is definitely more accommodating now-much easier than it's ever been. I would almost guarantee that we will see fewer military loot drops and more guns appearing in residential areas near the coast-just like it used to be.

The Price is Right never gets old. Record that.

I like this, but I think it would totally defeat the purpose of windows. Not only that, but I don't think we'll get zombies in-game until we get a more refined melee system in place. It's incredibly hard to kill zombies in the open, let alone killing them in a confined space. I can see it now; everybody temporarily quits DayZ because no building is safe from instadeath. We have never really had zombies spawn in doors for whatever reason, and I'm not really sure if we ever will. But I'm like you. I really want this to be a thing.

I don't think you would have much of an issue running the game. So long as the price is very fair, I would do it.

Hear me out, but in the big picture, it sounds like you are actually pretty new to the game. Please don't get me wrong, 300+ hours is nothing to scoff at, but depending on when that time was played during the games development you may have missed a huge chunk of time where the eastern side of the map was the best. I've played SA religiously from the day it launched to now, mostly due to my already established love of the Arma 2 mod, and there was an entire 9-10 month period in 2014-2015 where EVERYBODY was on the east coast. Berezino was an absolutely massive magnet for pvpers and freshspawns who were looking to clean up after the carnage of the battles that could be found constantly on pretty much every single server. I know what you're thinking, 'Berezino IS on the coast, I know it well.' But what we had back then was a daily routine where players would hit up the NEAF and all of the surrounding cities within 3~4km radius and they would flock back to the city in hopes of bringing havoc to the coast. All players who played back then will surely agree that we all got to know the other parts of the map if we ever wanted any player interaction. My theory: DayZ's developers have a cycle which they follow, and they will often times change it as they see fit. In early 2015 we saw many people abandoning the East due to the popularity of the prison island, and admittedly I stopped playing around that time, but from my understanding all of the action took place on the southern coast from that point on. Now we're seeing everyone head to the western hills because that's where the action is. I believe it falls on us to change this if we believe it is necessary. The best thing that each and every one of us could do is dedicate more time to parts of the map that aren't popular at the moment. And that is the only way we can make full use of this gigantic map.

That requires heating and cooling to be in a balanced place and that probably won't be for at least another year. By that logic, they would have to give us shower caps so that we can stand in the rain or swim in water to keep our hair dry as we rapidly cool ourselves down. I just don't think having a onsie makes any sense, and I don't think the community as a whole would want the developers to waste time on any more cosmetic items for the foreseeable future.

Man...let's try and keep this game somewhat serious.

Really good stuff, once again! I was looking forward to your continuation of "The Journey" and I'm excited to see where it goes from this point. Keep up the good work, man.

Identify players with Binoculars, Longrange scope etc.

It sounds like a bit of a witch hunt, and that usually isn't fun for anyone... I think the better solution would be to establish a bit more of a community on the server by inviting friendly players to come and either convert or weed out the KOSers. I know I wouldn't be to bothered to hunt down a random bandit for some loot that I could get myself within 15 mins of looting a military area. Plus I don't actually think it would solve any problem. Giving the bandits more of a reason to KOS will not be worth it in the long run. My theory on the matter? Educate, inspire, and convert. Show the KOSers a good time with good RP or group play and they won't go back to their KOS ways again. -
I'd do just about anything to get the dirtbike back in game. Very little maintenance, easily taken on and off the road, and extremely quick. I'm really hoping that it makes a comeback.

Good video! Maybe make the next one a little bit longer.

Need to restart the game each time I leave a server.

It sounds to me like you are encountering an uncommon bug. If I were you I would try and search online for a solution, OR I would say your issue will be resolved in an upcoming hotfix. None the less, good luck getting it resolved. -
Man, you're wasting precious playtime by just looting the coast. I don't care if the servers just restarted, you need to run inland as soon as you spawn. With the addition of the fog, reduction of loot spawns on the coast, and the new military locations in the north, you'd be crazy to think that you'll find anything at this point on the coast. I would almost guarantee that within 5 minutes of walking inland that you would be able to get fully hydrated and completely energized. And weapons, clothing, and other 'uncommon' loot drops are everywhere off the coast. I found an M4, a silencer for said M4, and 5 magazines within 40 minutes of logging into the server and running inland. Give it a try and then go look for trouble on the coast like the youtubers do.

I'm not sure if it's Windows 10's fault or what. I know a lot of people who have upgraded, myself included, and have yet to have any issue. Actually, I noticed a significant increase in launch performance as far at time to launch the game is concerned. I would say dig around online. Windows 10 has been a thing and I'm sure others have resolved the same issuse-assuming Windows 10 is the issue.

I'm not knocking you at all, but from my point of view I can see why the devs haven't really rushed to have SA servers. Hear me out: This game is early access, so it doesn't necessarily have to be available in every continent. I would imagine that servers will be available later on in time, but I think the devs chose Europe and the U.S. based on the already proven market who would be using these servers that cost them a lot of money. Also, I play with some friends who are from Chile and they have the hardest time even purchasing pc components that would even allow them to get 'okay' performance in game. I'm seen GPUs that cost a thousand dollars in SA but I can go to newegg or amazon and get it for $350. If I were a dev, at this point in the game's development, I would have a hard time dedicating servers in a place where it's extremely hard for the players to purchase components. I feel your pain. I'm just playing Devil's Advocate.
-
I would have to disagree too. I believe that the developers are doing a good job of keeping DayZ as far away from 'easy mode' as possible. We can't control the weather where we are in real life, so I do not believe that we should be able to pick and choose a server with anything more than the servers name, ip, time of day, etc.
-
I think this design aligns more with Rust than DayZ. With that said, did you play the mod? The tractor was one of the most incredible vehicles in the game. There was nothing better than running through the northern fields and stumbling upon a tractor of your own. So what it only had one seat. It was incredible!

I hate that you are struggling to find animals, but I think that you may be looking in places where spawns are no longer frequent. For example, a friend and I were running along the road to the north of Elektro, basically the center of the map, and we found one deer that was stuck against the fence. We then made it to the next small residential area, can't remember the name-it has two houses and a dumpster, and we then found a herd of deer running against the exterior walls of the house. There were four total within a pretty small area, all running as a group. Here's my theory: maybe wildlife respawns are bugged. I know for a fact that the areas you have mentioned have massive amounts of animal spawns. I'd guess that those animals have been killed, but they aren't coming back after resets. Maybe try a lower populated server to see if they are there. I was on a server with 25+ people when I ran into my herd, and I know that we weren't in an area with much traffic at all. That would explain why we had luck and why you're struggling. TLDR; Maybe wait for the devs to address it or possibly look in less-traveled areas on the map.

You've basically got it figured out, but the NE Airfield was more in line with the Balota Airfield in design. A few hangars, a military prison, and a few other military-esque structures. NEAF was actually my favorite airfield in mod. You were never positive that there would be other players there, but the ones who would hang out there were always decked out in pretty sweet gear. It was more of a surprise than NWAF where you knew that you would find guaranteed trouble. Not only was the pvp good, but it was also the best place to find air vehicles. Man, I really miss hanging out up there.

I've never thought about remapping my movement keys. What made you abandon WASD?

This was one of the first zombies I found after a 2 year break from the game. I don't think it was working as intended.

Anything is possible in DayZ! I've noticed that when it comes to glitches, when it rains, it pours. It's hard to imagine all of the things that you could have made that zombie do. lol -

I'd try and get the z to climb the fence in hopes that it would just shoot up like a rocket! RIP lol -

Sorry! I meant he should have tried to get the zombie to crawl over the fence after he downed it. -

You should have seen if he would have been able to hurdle a fence! I saw one do that for the first time yesterday and I just about lost it.
