How far does one have to walk before finding a weapon? (or anything for that matter) I spent literally 40 minutes walking in a straight line away from the coast, spent a good 20 minutes crawling on my stomach every time i came by a house, and had NOTHING to show for it but empty cans. Total playing session this go round was over 1 hour 30 minutes and found NOTHING but empty cans. Survived a couple of close calls with zombies but literally 95% of my playtime was spent walking or crawling through empty woods and fields. I've been told that you have to get away from the coast in order to find anything but expecting players to spend 90 fucking minutes walking through the woods everytime they log in is insane. As it is I'm not sure when I'll pick the game up again, definitely done for the day.
I know the flashlight button is 'L' but it is so dark that I can't even see if it's in my hand. I'll pull it out of my back pack, go back into the game, hit L but nothing happens. I know the inventory system takes some getting used to but can someone talk me through how exactly I equip this stupid thing?
I had the EXACT same results today. 6 hours and never found a weapon. Brought it up on here and was told I was making it up so be prepared for people to call you a liar rather than take Rocket's cock out of their mouth for 2 seconds.
After an entire day of playing I have still never found a gun. Even being visibly unarmed I have never come across another player who did not kill me. They can be close enough to clearly see I have no weapon but they kill me anyway. I suspect the near total lack of loot recently has made people desperate. One day I hope to find a gun so I can defend myself but suspect I will lose interest long before that.
Things spawn often? What version are you playing. Out of the 20 or so buildings i've entered I've found loot exactly twice. If one day I ever find a gun you can bet I'll shoot anyone I see on sight because that's what they all do to me and clearly that's what the designer has intended.
So nightime is pitch black which is fine, you cannot hold a gun and flashlight at the same time which is fine, you can't run with a flashlight which is starting to border on retarded but fine. But in order to switch between flashlight and a gun do i really have to keep bringing up the inventory screen and placing the flashlight in my backpack/remove gun from backpack? Is there no way to streamline this? My character model has tons of pouches and pockets but he can't just stick his flashlight in one? It has to get placed neatly into the main compartment of his pack? Does my character have OCD?
Finally got into my first game and have some issues: 1) How do I put my flashlight away once I've equipped it? All I can manage is to either carry it in broad daylight like an idiot or drop it on the ground. 2) I came across a body and when i got close to it a green icon appeared indicating i could search it. When the inventory opened I could only see my items. I assume the guy may have just spawned and therefor had the exact items I did but if that was the case I could take niether his painkillers nor bandage. Thanks for helping out a noob. Sry, question 2 is answered but still looking to find out how i put my flashlight away.
... on the very rare occasion where I find a server using the latest version that I can connect to, when I am able to load a character with no glitches (no audio, terrible framerates) even when I endure and hang in there and go through 5-10 false starts in order to connect to a functional game, I get killed before getting 400 yards away from the coast. Not by walkers but by armed survivors. I'm not nearly as angry at the wasted $30 as I am at the entire wasted day of my life.
I've had this game for 6 hours and have yet to find a weapon. There are armed players killing me before I get so much as 400 yards inland. Who says they have to gain something out of it? I've tried half a dozen servers and so far it's the same everywhere. If you have a weapon you're a god on the coast. Maybe I'm just unlucky but I seriously wish I had decided to try this game a few days ago instead. I have no reason to log back in and sit through all the loading just so I can make someone's day by being an unarmed idiot. I want my $30 back.
