Well this can be true sometimes when a game is uninstalled the files won't get deleted but there is a faster solution to restore your DayZ.cfg file. Since I did a few tweaks to mine I though I would reset this file. I deleted it and did a verify cache which did not work. I then started the game and a new DayZ.cfg file was created. I did need to reset the screen resolution and a few other graphics settings but it did do the job. WARNING: If you do this your screen will be running in a 640 by 480 resolution, the default for the game, your game will look horrible. It can be changed in game its just difficult to read the menus. You could also just alter the DayZ.cfg by hand to set your resolution.

Well I would be interested in joining this server. I have played the mod and standalone and have never been a big PVP fan. I am just getting sick of the KOSers and fresh spawn killers. I am almost 40 and to verify that I remember having to edit my Autoexec.bat and Config.sys files just to play games in the good ole days...2400baud modems anyone. Feel free to send me a PM.

I have been thinking about this issue as well. Mags right now are so rare that players, including myself, horde any mag that they find just in case they find the weapon for it. There is also that possibility of people just grabbing them and dropping them later so others don't get them. This just makes mags/clips harder to find. I think spawning an empty mag inside the weapon would be a solution that could be a fix for the short term until persistent servers get fixed with improved loot spawning. Ammo is not easy to find unless all you do is visit military bases/camps. Mosin ammo and the shotgun shells might be the exception to the rule I can find that all the time. When the loot system is in a more finalized system I think it could be brought back to its current state when weapons spawn with out a mag. Or make it rare that the weapon would have an empty mag with it.
