Does loot in persistent storage affect the spawn rates of the immediate area?
Szymowich replied to koujou_1's topic in Troubleshooting
I was in no way arguing anything. Was just stating concrete facts from my experiences. Will say that Multiplay is one that I never dealt with, nor did I check pricing. Regardless, that does kind of sound like a typical corporate excuse to just raise a price, as I have never ran across a statement like that coming from other providers... but who knows. Just browsed Multiplay pricing. They seem to be the most expensive out there at $59.00 for a 30 slot. This the new price? Or after the increase? -

This is untrue. From what I have seen personally, costs on server contracts have actually gone down in pricing. I have two servers... one Fragnet and one GameServers. Both have dropped in pricing that, at current cost, you can get a 50 slot for just a few bucks more than a 30 slot a year ago. As an example, My 30 slot GS server went down in price $24.00 a month... from 69 bucks down to 45 (and anyone that rents servers take note: When prices drop, they do not automatically adjust your rate. If/when you find the current price is lower than what you are presently paying, you have to submit a ticket to have it manually adjusted. I found this out when I randomly saw pricing somewhere and it was like "wait, what the... ?"). I have checked 4 of the server providers (GS, Frag, Vil and GD) and, in pricing, they are all in the same ballpark - $38.00 to $45.00 a month for a 30 slot (prices rounded to nearest dollar). *and no, I am not here advertising for these providers or saying one is better. just wanted to point out some facts, as I highly doubt loot files cause inflation of server prices* -
Fal definitely made it into the recent stable patch... came upon one not 30 minutes ago.

The infected spawned into the game are already 'dormant' until a player gets to within 500 meters. At least that is what I found by testing it using a friend with binoculars and a range finder... as I slowly walked towards the frozen subject. Sure enough, at approximately 500 meters it sprung to life. Then I backed away slightly and it froze again, in a pose that would have made Michael Jackson jealous. Tested it repeatedly and always the same result.

Aside from a hacked SVD being equipped, hotkeyed from the start and even used during the fight, I liked the squeaker in the squad talking about cheating and nobody even batted an eyelash and turned on him, sending him to an early grave. Starting at 3:38 when he is seen running away crying help, stating he was out of "bullets" to when he remarked "that is why I need unlimited [ammo]" ending at 4:16. Birds of a feather... There were plenty of times and places (sitting in bushes doing nothing on sniper hill, in the middle of nowhere, for extended periods) where that SVD mag could have easily, and safely been disposed of if that was the honest intention. Instead, it could have ended up in the hands of that swimmer, or any other player for that matter. Bollocks all around!

Great PVP moments in Elektro (and massive explosions?)
Szymowich replied to PokeMeTV's topic in Gallery
I paid attention so here goes... What about the hacked 60 round Stanag you have in your plate carrier? At 10:52 all sorts of things are seen... the hacked Stanag, the hacked SVD and as icing on the cake, the hacked SVD is now hotkeyed (even if you 'found' the hacked gun, who hotkeys something unless they plan to use it?) Also, throughout the video, you open your inventory several times and even in your protector cases and ammo box there are no other legit M4 mags or even loose ammo to be seen (except a flare and shotgun rounds in the ammo box). Kind of suspicious to not have ammo, aside from a hacked mag, during extended PvP yet you can carelessly fire at will. Adding to suspicion is your shootout from 8:02 to 9:02. You fire off a substantial amount of ammo, yet after that firefight you do not even think about checking how close the mag is to being emptied, or top it off (or swap mags) as most people would do in a heavy PvP area. You just skip away bleeding and hole up in a house for several minutes... until 11:16 when you are just about to open up a protector case and show the contents and then, bam... edit. Whether you created the hacked items or not, using the stuff is just as bad. It is difficult to see innocence here but that aside, it boggles my mind why you would share recorded evidence showing you carrying the stuff around (can you say tarnished reputation?). Call me strange but if I were in such situations, I would have never touched the stuff and if I had to for some odd reason, I would have instantly logged with it and sent it to the bottom of the ocean on an empty server... and deleted the video file. Bottom line is... there are some shady things going on in this video. -

There was a hotfix dealing with persistence and in the process, persistence files had to be wiped.- 1 reply

too many "do not join" servers to report
Szymowich replied to Wookieenoob's topic in General Discussion
Worse than the fact of these server admins kicking everyone but themselves and their friends is the fact that they restart the server repeatedly to farm loot and then transfer it to a persistence-on server. Not going to mention server names but I have run across a couple servers that I have witnessed being restarted every five-ten minutes, repeatedly and for hours on end. It is obvious what is being done in this situation. There is no other reason for such frequent restarts on a non-persistent server. As well as reporting them, I have begun to look up these outlaw servers on the numerous 'server listing' sites and have found that the majority of these servers were registered in the same time-frame that the cheaters began dropping like flies. Not that it is proof of anything but is it coincidence? Doubtful. Bottom line is that a public server is public... period. In theory, if everyone that rented a public server broke the rules and kicked everyone off, people that purchase this game would not have a server to play on (and save the "play on private servers" talk. this is all about principles here). Lastly, aimed at a brewing side-argument, I rent a private hive (master) server and I can switch the server between public hive and private hive (and to state what should be obvious, characters and loot do not transfer between the two) but I am not sure if all server providers give that option. But even with it being classified a private server on paper, the differences between the public and private setting still remain true to hosting guidelines for each. -
That looks like you are speaking of a Vilayer server and I hate to say it but it is more than likely gone for good. I have run into that numerous times in the past, up to the present, where their persistent servers vanish... and after stashing some goodies of course. They always seem to vanish the day after the weekly wipe, once you decide to set up a nest egg. For example, there used to be at least a dozen Vilayer hosted 'Dayz NY-such and such a number' but now there are like 6 remaining. It drops weekly it seems. And they do not change hands to public 'owners' and change names, change perspective, hives or anything like that. They just 'poof' all together.

Flares for the flare gun are stackable but I am not sure if it is intended or not. With flares in your inventory, right-click on each flare and then click 'eject'. The flares will then have a '1' appear in the top right... you may then stack up to 5 flares in one slot.
