  1. Very simple.... Only firearms are configured. The old spawning system was a placeholder, the new system is working, but not configured. So right now we should only be commenting on firearms for spawn placement, all other objects are irrelevant.

    Devs, hope you enjoy working for BI, must be nice to have such great support from the top. They are completely comfortable walking to their own tune, and not following trends while being dedicated to PC platform. Thanks for taking the time to do dayz right Marek! Lesser CEOs would have mucked this up. Vision and commitment will propel dayz to what we all wanted from the mod.
  3. While it has been stated only weapons are configured, we all should notice what has become common. Everyone has their own story, sound familiar? This has always been the goal in developing dayz. While it needs tweaking, you should get used to this. You should want different experiences every time. The game is about your story, your journey. Seriously, server hopping 10 times, because you feel entitled a weapon, because your in a particular house? Your missing the journey, and the whole point to the game.

    Well, I think they do talk about it, and everyone is aware of it, duh. Here dwarden talks about the EOL http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?183674-13€-DLC-hefty-price-for-2-choppers&p=2819446&viewfull=1#post2819446. BI was put into a position that they didn't expect to be in when standalone sold so many copies at alpha release. They have already said they wish that they had stared out with a higher price and less overall sales. The long term plans of standalone where shifted, they doubled down and I like it. But, it remains to be seen if this was smart and if doing so will increase the already 3mil. player base. In the next year we will see the fruits of their labor as the new engine slowly gets implemented. If things go to plans the 3mill will spread word of the improvements and they can continue on like minecraft development chunking it full of features while building a platform for community content.
  5. Yeah so, I know the new update had new textures for rocks, but they look to have more hard angles. Not sure, am I dreaming? Also, I'm sure the rocks are still a WIP, but what do you guys think of the changes? I've come across some that look great and some look outright strange, they look out of place with the surrounding textures, or maybe it's my eyes, been playing the a2 version for many years.
  6. yeah, I know. But, it goes to show how differently people play the game. Many people actively search out player interaction, I don't. I think it's much more interesting when you just go about your business and let it happen. Most of my encounters are at a distance.
  7. Oh no, I wasn't condoning making people wait as long as I have. :D I would like the 3-5 minute timer, shouldn't bother anyone, they're unconscious that's the point. If it's not in-game at release or atleast a hardcore or server option, I would be surprised. Right? But, right now its not really needed.
  8. I had a private server character that was unconscious for a long time, not even sure how long, but it was hours. I got knocked in the head with a fire extinguisher, while laying there the guy said he was going to go find a knife, come back and eat me. I came too, and was able to make it away, thought it was a good time to try stitching, still not sure what that does, got sick, and collapsed again. In my free time I would just fire it up and lay there, never came too though. I'm thinking it was around two hours +. 3 to 5 minutes, that's nothing, it would allow for some fun in that time, as long as we could wake them, that's the other issue, pour water, epi, others? So, it is only helpful if you can wake them too. Right now it wouldn't make much sense, until full medical system is in or close. But, full game absolutely.

    Right, but that's because the infected danger level is non-existent, this will change. IMO most bullets to the body should kill quick. Cooperative interaction with meds will be centered around surviving against the infected. I'm betting infected will do mostly shock damage, which I'm assuming most of the medical coop interaction will be based.

    Yes, let's all hold games certain standards! Now.... Why can't I have a view distance greater than 200 meters in all games, now!If your comparing games you've got to compare everything, BI is working efficiently, it will come when it's time.

    lol, I thought the same. Guess it all depends on the view distance. A3 runs nice now, but it hasn't always. When it was Alpha (for us) it was further along than SA. That's the real problem here, not understanding where standalone is, was, and going. Plans have changed, due to BI underestimating popularity. They're not building the game they where, theyre going deeper, be patient. It will be worth it.
