That's not true at all. Protector cases, suppressors, red dot sights, and long range scopes are not a common loot spawn. Without server hopping those items will take quite a while to find, and with server hopping you'd still have to be lucky to come across those. 200 .45 rounds and 160 7.62 rounds can take forever to horde all that ammo legitimately assuming the OP didn't just pick them up off a corpse. Don't be another fanboy that just sugarcoats over the more frustrating broken parts of this game. However the OP should have accepted that all that gear is temporary. You're going to loose all your shit from glitches, character wipes, and other players.....

The "LLJK Police Patrolled" title is just a joke for that server. They are poking fun at other servers that advertise only a specific way of playing...it used to be a decent enough server but lately it's filled with hackers and dupers.

Can't say I'm too excited for this update. Until they actually sort out the core engine and gameplay issues then this just feels like extra fluff on top of a very glitchy game. I'm talking about just the most basic features...things like weapons actually switching the first time you press a button instead of after 5-10 tries or inventory management actually being responsive and snappy. I'd like to be able to pull out a weapon/item and have it just *work* like any other game in the past decade instead of my guy randomly stopping or suddenly moving forward five feet and off the ledge of a building. For all I know these features could be totally broken at first and just cause more problems. Adding binoculars for example, seems simple enough but even that's all screwed up on the first release.

What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
eviltoast499 replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
For me it would be the clumsiness of the controls and interaction never being solved. Having to always press 1 multiple times just to get my character to respond and pull out his gun. The always present inventory delays from moving objects around, eating/drinking, and placing loot on the ground. Not being able to switch weapons without my guy either coming to a complete stop or getting stuck in a run mode until he finishes switching weapons. Look at other large-scale MP games and you'll never see these issues. Games like rust or planetside where pressing crouch actually works right away on the first time or moving something in your inventory is snappy and not delayed. -

eviltoast499 replied to Zedicologist's topic in General Discussion
I don't care about getting more zombies. They need to be fixed first before they start adding more. Zombies need to be totally redone..they need new sounds, the AI needs to not be so clunky, they need to stop going through walls, a dozen other things. Because right now the zombies are an annoyance instead of a proper threat. I'd rather see a town have 4-5 broken zombies like it does right now instead of 25 broken zombies. -
Unfortunately Dayz is sort of designed so that the point of it is ruining other players fun. You have to grief someone before they manage to grief you.

Earlier today I ran into an unarmed guy on the top floor of an apartment. He was able to kill me by getting right in front of me and vaulting into my character, which pushed me through the wall where I then fell to my death. So he was able to get all my gear with this glitchy tactic. That sucked pretty hard, it would be nice to have not such buggy collision in future fixes. :(

Why Mouse Acceleration in First Person desperately needs Fixing #2 *Long Post*
eviltoast499 replied to 27 others's topic in General Discussion
I'm happy to see that other people here think the mouse movement is awful and not a feature but a problem. Seriously the people who think it needs to be even clunkier and that having responsive controls turn the game into Call of Duty are out of their mind. Moving around in buildings is a pain in the ass, you always get stuck on door frames and small objects. Turning around too quickly makes you look straight up in the air...it's just unnatural as hell. -
Well, here is the issue with zombies... [VIDEO]

That video made me cringe. Holy shit bro, you sound like you've got some spazzing out issues or something. Are you this guy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eavjX1ifTIc -
Why Mouse Acceleration and Responsiveness desperately needs Fixing
eviltoast499 replied to 27 others's topic in General Discussion
Why do you think the mouselook is in any way natural? Do you not have your own pair of legs, or perhaps you're not a human or something? Are you a fish? It is not hard to turn around or navigate through tight areas when you're carrying a bag of equipment. The last time I've had to do something similar was hiking through the appalachian trails with a 50+ pound bag on my back every day, the only thing made more difficult was walking up steep hills. I didn't end up staring up or down from turning around too quickly like the current mouse-movement in dayz, how does something like that even make sense? You can have no gear whatsoever in the standalone and the mouse movement is still clunky. This problem wasn't in the dayz mod and it sure as hell doesn't exist in Arma 3 because it's obviously bad design. Like I mentioned, throughout the mods development there has always been some unintuitive things popping up with controls or inventory or whatever, and you can bet there's always been some dude on these forums claiming it should be a feature. Makes me scratch my head. -

I think the devs will do a good job tweaking it in the future. What I think puts us in trouble are the guys who always defend such clunky/glitchy design on these forums. Reminds me of having your legs break from crawling through doorways or getting stuck in hallways from the mod and the players who actually wanted that shit in the game just to make it more annoying to play. -

Why do some people here think being able to turn around or aim quickly is unrealistic? Are they really fat or have terrible balance? It's not hard. You can be weighed down by plenty of stuff and still be able to turn and aim on the dime. I'm tired of the milspergs who think shitty and unresponsive controls make a game more realistic. -
Don't know why dayz became a slowe paced pvp shooter? I'll tell you.
eviltoast499 replied to mkrrr's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm not even sure what to say to something like that. It's almost like being a hipster or something in DayZ. If a sniper shoots me I'll say "shit!" and then respawn to start over. I'm not going to be thinking "Ugh, that guy shooting me is such a testimony to his lack of creativity! Art is dead!" Seriously makes me laugh.
