Sorry if this is in wrong section, i just got a new motherboard and cpu (i3 4160) have done a fresh install of windows fully updated, just downloaded and installed dayz but it keeps crashing to desktop after a certain amount of time. I was just changing ingame settings and it would crash, i managed to play a game for about minute and it crashed, i have to ctrl alt delete to exit the game, any ideas? Im on windows 7 64 b, 8gb mem, i3 4160 and r9 280x and dayz is on my ssd. Everythings is updated windows/drivers etc im on latest omega driver for gpu. Backround programs running are msi ab & riva tuner. norton internet security, andd ccleaner monitoring.

Seems it was something to do with msi ab & rtss once uninstalled no more issues

I have just built a fireplace kit, looks a bit different than before so i assume changed in 0.53? Any way i used bandage and sticks but i cant add anything to it? I tried adding paper/book no dice and i cant ignite it either with matches, any tips? What am i doing wrong

On another note, i was fully geared at the time of this pic, i drove just 2 minutes away to balota airfield, drove threw it to the top where the gates are, stop the truck but kept engine on, thinking id get the gates open quickly and have a wuick getaway incase i was being scoped, got out, the truck move forward on its own accord about 1ft and im dead. I love this game!!!

the closest i get is camping a military loot area until the server restarts so i can get good loot, but i never jump from server to server, whats the point, this game isn't all about shooting people like the mod but alot seem to forget this and constantly hop for better guns etc. If you hop you aint playing the game the way it was designed to be played, may as well be hacking duping all the same in my eyes

btw t he hackulors are back, i have been killed by 1 punch twice today, and no no one was near me!!!!!!!!! dayz wouldnt be dayz without the hackers we love you gays im mean guys

Remember most fresh spawns where bandits, cannibals and even rapists in past life, i dont trust em and no 1 should, all lot say you shouldnt kill em but i say go for it, and when you do, cut em up and eat em, how many times have you been killed as a fresher by fully decked out guys with m4s or aks? all the time, i shoot 1st eat 2nd ask questions 3rd.

Ok, atleast you where nice about it, its like dayz is so bad but so good, sometimes you get annoyed with it and need to vent your fustration, on another note another post i made was removed by steak and potatoes for no good reason, it was a completely reasonable post, abuse of power sometimes friend.

btw it just happened again, had full gear ak101 loads of ammo and mags driving to pick up my friend in cherno and the truck hit an invisible wall in the road and flipped, i was still allive upside down though, got out of the truck bam dead, seeing its the time of lent i think il give up dayz for it.

I do remember driving along the road and bam just stopped and dipped into the road a bit whatever the hell that was...and the things are way too loud in 3rd person, seriously what was the reasoning behind this. 0.54 fix the fkn sound bugs please, be it the v3s to darn loud, aswell as rain and wind or the random noises, im sitting in military prison and all of a sudden someones munching some food, not a sinner about the place, 0.54 fix the v3s and fix the sound bugs please.

Yh that makes sense, needs fixing, also a bit unrelated to the post but are any of you getting big freezes again? This has only started to happen since 0.53 for me random freezes for 2/3 seconds but sometimes more

You know this happens to me all the time. I find a rare gun possibly one i have never had and i end up dying before i shoot 1 bullet, nowadays when i find a gun like this i always shoot 1 or 2 zombies just to shoot it :)

yh sucks big time. id say about 2 minutes after i took this photo i was dead, had decent gear too, will the damage every be changed or tweaked in this game like seriously if my character could fart it would kill him

can someone please explain this to me, i have a fx 6300 oc 4.7 and r9 280x with 8gb ram, im playing at 1080p with varied settings as im sure most people use, some very low some high, so im in berezino just standing in the middle of the town im getting 24fps shoots up and down towards 30, for giggle i have put everything very high and my fps is the same????? I ran around a bit into some buildings and im averaging the same fps, will somone please explain this to me

Also why are so many people recommend ssds? I have a small ssd and a standard 7200rpm hdd, yes it loads faster but both hdds produced same fps, anyone saying ssd can improve fps.. i beg to differ!

You have a pretty good rig, your fps seems a lil low like but its common to have bad fps, especially with amd cpus, surely you can get more than 4.3ghz out that cpu (depending on your cooler ofcourse) seeing dayz works on single tread performance my 6300 is actually out performing your 8350 as im currently running at 4.7ghz and all fx cpus have the same single core performance at the same ghz, id bet you could get close to 5ghz on that cpu! Just dooo it!1.55v and go for it!

i have tried almost all fps boosts out there and they do work, i stopped in the wild and adjusted every setting one at a time, monitoring my fps with steams fps counter, i seen 5fps+ boost when turning aa/alpha coverage off regarding textures like object clouds i seen very lil change from high to low settings, but did see 3-4 fps boost changing shadows from vhigh to v low, BUT no matter what you do cities are never effected, you will never experience fps change in cities changing these settings, with my custom settings i got 24-30fps in cherno, i then turned everything up to highest and guess what, 24-30 fps in cherno, im now confident in saying this as i have tried everything...all these tweaks, launch parameters will do nothing for you in cities im afraid. Hoping this new engine or rendering will improve fps in cities, i have read it will support dx11 now i dont really know what this means for fps but hoping its a good thing!:)

Man i did such a noob thing and its made me so mad arrrrrrhhhhh, i have been putting in a session today made my way down the coast gathering good loot and made it to the prison island for 1st time surprisingly it was a ghost prison :) bot a soul about the place and unlooted in full 50 server which i found surprising, so i swam over and headed to kamarovo where 2 guys opened fire with mosins, after 20 minutes of intense gameplay i killed them and started to loot the bodies, just to notice a guy running in the distance, i decided to give chase, got within 20 yards of him and plop i forgot i had my gun unequiped....FOOK A DUCK, he spotted me, i managed to get my sks out and shoot him but he put me down! I have many hours in dayz sa and no not to grow attached to gear but doing such a nooby thing really pissed me off...arrhhhhhh Only myself to blame, i dont see myself as a bandit as the first 2 guys shot first, the guy who did kill was suspiciously close to the first guy i killed, but anyway i gave chase and died because of the noob inside me :( R.I.P DungShoveler

I was like that in my early hours of dayz, would find a decent gun etc and it would take me easily 30 minutes to get through a town without looting, just trying to stay away from any conflict, im now more calm etc in gun fights and when someone kills me fair enough but when i do a noob thing like stated above its hard not to get mad, but hey what ya guna do its just a game after all, all be it an intense adrenaline pumping finger twitching game :) i swear to god some intense gunfights my hands are shaking with adrenaline.

I have a amd machine i built, fx 6300 @ 4.7ghx 8gm ram and r9 280x also overclocked pretty good, i play on customized settings at 1080p some very low some very high, i get 30+ frames in ALL cities and 50-60 in wilderness, is it dayz not being optimized for amd or is it amd being a cheaper cpu with less single core performance? If budget is an option do what i did and get a water cooler for your cpu, i use a cooler master seidon 120v and overclock your cpu higher, for the fx Vishera range im pretty sure all the cpus from 4300 series right up to 9590 series have the same single core performance at the same ghz so for dayz no need to get 8300 or higher stick with a 4200 or 6300 and overclock the sheet outa it. :~)
