The Vampire Lestat

I've been playing on experimental since the news broke out that zombies were coming back in the update, but I haven't seen a single zombie since I've been playing again. On the bright side, I have some awesome gear! Has anyone been encountering zeds regularly?

I've set up family sharing with a friend of mine that has the DayZ mod for ARMA 2 so I've been trying it out. There are lots of zombies on there! It's got really different mechanics so it's quite a bit to get used to. H1Z1 has an interesting set up that the amount of zombies spawning depends on the amount of players in a server and the amount of players and loot in an area.

I must confess that I haven't played since they basically took out zombies either. I've been periodically checking to see when they're going to be back. I bought DayZ for a realistic experience of what it would be like in the zombie apocalypse, but I'm still not disappointed. I'm very excited to see what they're going to do with the infected. I want to see scattered single zombies roaming around, as well as big hordes roaming the entire map. I am hoping they make bigger cities more dangerous by filling them with more zeds. Right now, the best completed zombie game for me is either State of Decay or Dying Light. A game with Dying Light's parkour and weapon customization, State of Decay's community system, barricading, and permadeath, and DayZ's unforgiving realism and MMO elements would be the ultimate zombie game lol.

I read that they were going to disable infected spawning temporarily for stable branch. Any word on when this is going to happen if it hasn't already? There'll be more zombies when they've fixed them up and gotten the servers more stable.

I know exactly how you feel...I was trying to be a bandit that day but I had just had a change of heart and tried to make a friend. Earlier that day I'd killed someone for dinner, so I guess it's karma!

I've considered checking out the mod off and on but I'm not sure that I wanna spend the extra money on it lol.

Is there any evidence that the zombies are actually cannibalistic? They don't seem very hungry in your encounters with them. I'm assuming that they're more like the zombie in Left 4 Dead. They're just psychotically violent and seek to kill or infect anything that isn't infected (i.e. They bite to infect, not to eat).

It's pretty annoying. I'd just lost a very good character due to some random idiot deciding to shoot me and now I can't find anything to restock my character.

Bigbadchuck, maybe I don't feel like sifting through dozens of pages hearing about people not being able to find loot. I appreciate the douchey and presumptuous response <_< Thank you for your kind reply, cash81. It's nice to know that there are some people on forums that aren't rude.

Since the last update I just haven't been able to find ANY food. I've found one drink today, along with some clothes and body armor with melee weapons and ammo but nothing else. Anyone else having this happen to them?

In my experience, survivor encounters are even rarer than zombie encounters. I didn't actually "meet" one (or more accurately, I met his bullet) until several weeks after I first got the game. Everyone seems to have lots of stories of interactions with other survivors but I really don't see very many. I'm traveling down south to either Cherno or Elektro, so I'll probably encounter more there. I know the usual strategy is to move North after getting good gear.

Ever since they added cannibalism to the game I've been wanting to eat someone, and today I finally got my chance. My unsuspecting victim met me and I "saved" him from a group of zombies. He asked where I was going and I told him I was heading south, and so was he (to Elektro). He went to scavenge houses while I waited and contemplated whether or not I was going to kill him. He asked if I could be his friend when I came back and I told him I didn't mind. While he had his back turned I submitted to temptation and shot him in the with my shotgun. Lord, I think you for the meal that you have provided! :P

That's freaking creepy.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but don't you think they should make it where loot spawns on zombies (especially military ones)? It'd also be nice to see more corpses laying around Chernarus, just to increase the post-apocalyptic atmosphere.

I enjoyed a nice meal with a friendly, until we were both attacked by bandits and gunned down. If I'm not mistaken, the leader of the bandits was saying he was friendly while he was pointing his rifle at us LOL!

I had a really good character and I lost him in a bloody encounter with another survivor lol.

I'm surprised more zombie MMOs don't use this for character deaths.

Maybe some of the zombies are "fresh"? :blush:

I wish more servers were day and night. Almost every server I've played on is totally day or totally night.

Love it! There's no telling how many times I've gotten into a house soaking wet on a rainy day in this game. Maybe make it where it could attract zombies and other players as a cost though. I got the idea of it attracting zombies from a perceived plot hole in 28 Weeks Later.

LOL Do they plan on raising the server cap? I know H1Z1's servers cap at 200, if I'm not mistaken.
