    A possible "sabotage" suggestion.

The ability to poison water / food? But I could see that being exploited by trolls that poison all of the stater areas... I suppose the thinking would be focused on a system to pull that off? Or is this concept already incorporated via "disinfectant spray" for now? Sabotage weaponry? Self explanatory. Renders the gun useless / dangerous to the wielder. Just a little brainstorm. It's interesting to discuss small ideas in the hopes of nurturing them into larger ones. Thoughts?

I appreciate you think that man, cheers. Just download "Open broadcast software" from Twitch. Stream for fun. Set OBS to save the recordings so you can edit them into videos if you wish. You could easily share your moments that way, and it's all free. ^^ What you said is also along the right track. Once the game's physics are improved, then maybe. The dev team do often jump surprises on us every once and a while, to think of the amount of new things coming in for 0.53 is almost unexpected. As they said themselves, it's going to be a busy but great year for DayZ.

    Woods are Fun

I remember seeing you post one time. Some member of the forum team saw you trying to take charge and pretty much told you off. I just wonder why you call yourself the "Imagination Administration" because it's hard to think of a reason why that even exists. Please clarify?

Self proclaimed admin? Why are you bothering with backseat moderation that doesn't actually apply realistically?

    Doesn't sound fun to me.

The problem with throwing knives is that their "arc" is uncontrolable. You can throw a knife at someone, but you cannot be certain if the blade will spin into the victim at that direct moment, or the "handle" will hit them instead. Not to mention how difficult it would be trying to have enough throwing power to penetrate an assault vest. It's these factors that would make it more realistic. Maybe a throwing knife could certainly happen, but it would be a form of desperation. Otherwise, good thinking.

    The reason behind KoS: ?

It truly makes no sense when people do that. They can get an experience out of talking to you. They could help you, and you could help them. You could travel together and have such a better time on that particular life than being sent back to the coast within deathmatch city.
  8. I joined DayZ roughly around 0.46-0.47. I have seen from videos that the gask mask was once wearable along with the ballistic helmet. This obviously is no longer the case. Why did they remove the option to wear both of these items together? They posed no clipping issue and I personally feel they looked brilliant together. The ballistic helmet as it stands struggles to match anything cosmetically in terms of facewear, the green balaclava is a little too dark to "match" the green of the helmet. Of course, you can tell I am cosmetically biased, but regardless, let's answer the question.

    A wonderful experience.

I agree. Not moments ago I went into a city on my main public hive character that has been alive for over a month. He had a full ghillie, mosin, smersh vest and backpack. Very rare stuff. Because of the upcoming wipe, I wanted to help as many people as possible and not worry about risk. I got to help two people by providing food. I then approached a third. He kept asking, "Sniper? See sniper? Bad sniper? Where is sniper?" I replied, "I'm not a sniper. I'm just a ghillie, I'm here to give you some food." "Oh, no, there is sniper, a bad sniper. You are nice sniper." *You are dead* He was talking about a sniper of the rooftop above me all along. Damn communication barriers. My point being, I don't mind death, but it was horrific to have months worth of effort and character development taken away with such a boring, unoriginal shot from a rooftop. I truly don't understand the benefit behind mindless killing.

    Rarest Loot (Experienced Looters)

One time I actually died walking up those demonic, metallic leg slicers. I was merrily jogging along, only to be greeted by an instant "You are dead" screen. Very upsetting. Had a full ghillie at the time. Spent 5 hours previous on empty servers looking for burlap sacks. I taught me a valuable lesson though, the game's not about loot, it's about the unknowable experiences that may or may not happen. I find myself having more fun in crappy, weirdly coloured clothing, but with a band of friendlies at eachother's side, travelling the map together.

That is actually amazing. I'll definitely take that into account. Be more mindful of said mindset.

    Your most memorable moments?

It was back in 0.47 I believe. It was also my first life, I survived for over 6 hours not knowing what to specifically expect or look out for. The beauty of my first life was that I was completely, blissfully unaware of how deadly and manipulative the game and it's inhabitants are, so I approached everything with no fear and enthusiasm. After finding lots of food and drinking out of a pond ( I figured out the spam-click "method" myself :P ) I found a map in a police station. the "Map of NW chernarus" to which I eagerly opened to hopefully gain some sense of direction. I immediately noticed a rather large runway, and I like runways. So away I ran towards said runway, without a compass, for I had no idea they existed. It took 5 hours of losing my bearings, ending up on the very top left of the map (the edge of the actual map, where everything stops loading) avoiding multiple bandits and their gunfire, looting houses and drinking a lot of Pipsi, but I finally spotted a distant hangar over the treeline. I darted into the middle of the airfield, without caution or care and eventually found myself in a prison building. The first sight I was forced to bear witness to was a dead body, of which I began looting, as I knew I had to find SOMETHING to defend myself against whatever or whoever did this. Among his tattered, torn gear was a small pistol, I believe it was the makarov or the 1911, I forget which one specifically. I picked it up, this was the first gun I'd ever held. I was constantly in first person as I didn't know third person existed, so my "field of view" was at a disadvantage in comparison to the potential threat. Not seconds after I picked up the pistol, I heard footsteps outside. I crouched and aimed towards the double doored entrance. The door burst open, and there stood a fully armed player gear consisting of an AKM with drum mag, a blackskull balaclava, a smersh vest with smersh backpack attached, full gorka clothing and a ballistic helm. Being a new player, I couldn't comprehend or understand the sheer amount of intense danger this person posed, additionally I was starving and had no clothes other than a black hoodie and white hunter pants with my freshspawn shoes. These factors added up in my head all within a moment. Needless to say this caused me to begin firing at him, aiming directly at his head. He died from the second shot, but that didn't stop me from "inserting" the other 6 bullets into his skull. To this day I am unsure if he even knew I was there, since he died so quickly. I skimmed over his loot, and I noticed that his once amazing looking blackskull bally was now a rusty colour and "ruined". This was the first time I learned about combat ruining items. I took his AKM and rushed outside. There was another dead body directly to my right! This didn't stop me as I continued running past the part of the prison building that represents a small tunnel. INSIDE the "tunnel" was another player, bandaging. I shot him once in the head, and down he fell. I took his pristine hunter backpack and gorka gear along with my first helmet (completely disregarded that it was ruined, I got a helmet m8) I then continued to kill 6 people effortlessly, as I was not at all worried or nervous. My sheer ignorance was calming enough to allow me to aim and fire without any panic or missing. I ended up eating roughly 30 cans of food from these victims. Most of them were running across the runway, out in the open, or camping in the firestation + control tower. My first death occurred within the same hour of my first kill. I entered one of the "officer barracks" with a few beds and a small wooden table, the exterior looks like a small green hangar. I heard footsteps outside. The door opened, I was eating a delicious pepper, I was shot in the head. Didn't even care, I had a great time. I then learned from various tutorials and advice from players the extreme details of DayZ and all of its functions. With this new knowledge and clarity, all I could do was sit at my chair shocked. I pulled off a seriously rare killing spree, and I had no idea how badass I was doing it. ;) So, what's your most memorable moment?

Ballistic helmet + gas mask = not compatible. Why?

How do you have that "signature" every time you post? The "There once was a game know as DayZ..." I've always wondered.

    Your most memorable moments?

That's awesome man. You had a brotherhood. An experience that's hard to come by in such a cold, unforgiving world of the apocalypse. It was almost real for a moment eh? Cheers for sharing, dw about the pirated version, you did the right thing in the end ^^

    Your most memorable moments?

Well, honestly it depends on the server you're on. I've been able to achieve your experience from being on persistent servers for example, where loot is very, very rare. I admire that simplicity. It's the atmospherics that get to you, the moments where the game stops being a game, and for a moment you're connected. Good stuff man, I can definitely relate.

Ballistic helmet + gas mask = not compatible. Why?

Hm, that's the question though. Why would it not be the case in DayZ anymore just because they added a helmet that IS compatible? I would have imagined having two different types of helmet to use with the gas mask, which appears to be a highly valued item because of the way it looks, would satisfy a higher amount of people? Unless there is a specific intention / reason behind why they cannot be used together, it makes no sense. Obviously because it's yet to be justified. And I'm not worried in regards of "usefulness" and "looks." I can find the balance. My problem is the guns themselves, I'm yet to use them enough to be good at battling others. But in terms of gear? I'm always well equipped (currently rocking a full ghillie on a hardcore private shard and a green half ghillie on normal servers.)

    The reason behind KoS: ?

Yeah, I agree with you. I just wanted to understand the motives behind it, not "Why do you do it I'm fed up dying *crying irl*" I think all play-styles provide a unique aspect to the game and keep people constantly uncertain of how to approach different encounters. That's what makes the game so special, despite its early stages. At least that's how I feel.
