  1. BelMarduk, you're right, surviving is the heart of the game. That comes at the cost of enduring your environment as it is presented and bandits are a crucial obstacle of the environment (I'm just adding to this point, i'm not being defensive). A survivor can run forever from zombies, zig zag through trees and lose them easily. Zombies are dumb, as they should be and pose very little threat to the player unless they are under specific conditions (broken leg, ran into a one entrance/exit building, shooting within a close proximity) whereas bandits are the true variable to survival. Bandits are unpredictable and less easily fooled than a mindless corpse. Without them, you would have a shooting gallery that would get old fast. There would be no danger in a group because someone could epipen and bloodbag you back to health, but under fire of a bandit, the whole situation would be comprimised. There would be no fear without bandits.
  2. Bandits and PVP are the heart of this game, those who want that to change are playing the wrong game or are just bad at organizing with friends. The biggest problem with players (not the game) is they jump into a server solo and try and make friends. They TRUST random people and die because of it 80% of the time. They give away their position in chat trying to meet up with people and complain when they're killed. They play stupidly. Trust is earned, not a handout.

Will dogs log out with the player?

That is actually a good question. Where am i??
  4. ahorseofcourse

well that was fun while it lasted

i admire your honesty. Hell i like you, you can come over to my house and fuck my sister. Hearing that a hacker has more fun playing the game than hacking it is a step in the right direction.

    Broken bones and humanity

In interest of allowing the game to take on more incentive for teamplay, why not change the way a broken leg affects the player? How about change morphine so it can only be administered by someone else. Blood bags already work on this principle and while most players can make due hunting animals or huffing beans when low on health, breaking a leg in the wilderness on a solo run could mean life and death. Also, maybe broken bones should have an ultra heavy bleeding effect that will rapidly drain HP and give some sort of UI indicator like a red screen pulse. You can still bandage yourself (possibley double bandage due to severity of blood loss), but the effect of being bandaged by another player is either quicker or replenishes a small amount of life. Consider it a humanity multiplier. What do you think?

    Broken bones and humanity

90% of the time i play solo. I'm not trying to say everyone should play with a buddy, I'm just saying that breaking your leg should be devastating. Morphine is questionable as a remedy to a fracture in the first place. Alternatives for healing a broken leg would be fine for lone wolves, just rarer in the game world. How about adding a splint, which could be used by the player or another player? Morphine is readily available already if you know where to look, and the splint can be more rare, maybe hospitals only.
  9. @ Luke: Sounds like you should do one of two things. Start shooting other people for no good reason or quit.
  10. "seem to insist that folk who don't play the game *their* way are idiots/morons/retards." Thats why i kill everyone i meet in game. Reading these forums is great fuel. "Copy popular internet "memes" to reply to posts rather than coming up with any cogent argument or discourse." Lol you mad bro? I'm firing mah lazer while ceiling cat watches you masterbate. This will never go away because it's funny. "Insist on pidgeon holing people into subgroups such as "Carebears" or "Bandits"" Prejudice really is a thing. Sticks and stones will break your bones. Why even care about this? "Focus on non relevant issues in threads rather than on the whole concept/topic." This is the only thing i agree with you on. Moderators either are too lenient or there are not enough of them. This community will represent the game just as much, if not more than, rocket or any PR presence can and yet trolls are rampant. You can definitely tell there are more children posting here than adults. I belong to a very well organized forum and coming here usually ends up with me hitting the back button until i'm back within the realm of coherency. "Finally as with standard Megalomania have a super inflated opinion of them selves." yeah, i'm pretty great. Can you stop feeding the trolls now? They have an enormous appetite.

    Got good stuff...Now what?

Survive. If you have good gear your eligibility for survival is at max, essentially you want to look for vehicles or kill people. Whats that you say? "But horse, i don't want to kill people i want to be a gentleman". Well to that i say; nice guys finish last, and spawn on the coast bitter and without beans. You can try and help people out, but you will eventually run into someone with low level gear that will view you as a mobile treasure chest. If you want to be nice with people, organize with them before you join the game and meet up. You can't trust anyone you don't know in the game, it will always put you at a disadvantage. Remember this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_BfBwyOXJ4. Consider it a reminder.

    Watching a funny bandit stream.

So what? I do this all the time. If they were good players i wouldnt notice them so easily.

    OMG more LLJK goon hacking!!!!!!

Oh hay, can any pony post here?
  14. Think the game is too easy, not challenged, not having a good time? You should probably keep playing it. Oh, and post as much as you can about it.

    Do you guys think?

Not worth the work that would go into it as of right now. If the timeline was months or years after the apocalypse there would be no loot like there is now.

    If I were rocket...

Alot of you are getting pretty irate, and it is becoming increasingly clear who the arma vets are and who the new people are. Rocket has truly given us something groundbreaking here and I, along with many others, really don't want this game to become a victim of it's decreasingly helpful community. This game will only get better with time, many of you do not see this. I could spout off "ALPHA" until i'm blue in the face but 75% of the time it falls on deaf ears. This game is a work in progress, and each time i read some prepubescent post about how Rocket is messing up the game i become more and more worried that Rocket will lose interest in this project. Obviously nobody wants that, we're all here because we know this game is great, but this blanket of negativity that has come over many of you DOES affect how others perceive things, whether it's a new player or a developer. There are Suggestion and bug reporting forums on this board. Use them. They will improve this game, not a long winded rant that only demeans the intention of this project. If you see a bug, or randomly lose your gear, or your gun turns into a garden hose, post maturely about it. These game-issues are not made on purpose and can/will be fixed. If something is drastically changed in the game, maybe try and consider the reasoning for it. Many people don't own guns, for example. Spawning without one, in addition to the newly added ability to get away from zombies that are chasing you makes PERFECT sense, all the while catering to the hardcore theme of the game. As for you, Rocket. You've created a great game here, I just wanted you to know that many of us trust in your ability, despite the few that are louder than most. I have alot of games on my plate right now, but i haven't played any of them in months (I have logged 45 minutes into diablo 3, for example, which was purchased at launch). Don't let them make you lose focus, you are very rapidly becoming one of the most prolific modders in existence and I look forward to the future of this game.
