Already have a gun, and I never go in PVP cities because I don't trust the shitty gameplay enough. Desyncing all over the place during a fight isn't my idea of fun. I've been to Krasno a bunch of times, never been impressed by the loot there. No idea where Stary Yar is, can't find anywhere on the map by that name.

I'm in Novo at the moment and can't find jack shit in the way of loot. Damn looters, stealing all my loot.

Novo is a barren wasteland on every server I've tried this morning (yes I'm server hopping, deal with it). Kind of annoying.

I didn't want to make a whole new thread for a simple question, was just looking for a one post answer (like "it's a glitch, usually you can" or "it's always been like that, you can't shoot thru them".

Random question: Why can't you shoot through windows? I just took 4 shots at a guy through a broken window from inside the room (aka barrel wasn't stuck on the window sill or something) and it made little floating "holes" in non existent glass and didn't hit the guy. Kind of annoying...

I've been running into less then normal but they are still around.

Yeah the desync is so bad for me it's making the game unplayable. It will run fine for a few minutes then I'll get hit with desync for 30 seconds, can't move, randomly looking up at the sky/down at the ground, floating 10-15 feet in every direction, spinning around.... Super frustrating.

Care to enlighten a vehicle noob on how you go about driving one? Do you need gas or do they usually have some in them?

Which is too bad because a lot of the inland cities are awesome. Novo in particular, having 30 people duking it out there would be amazing, yet every time I go there it's a ghost town.

Yep. This game really highlights the reality of a gun standoff. The movies have people pointing guns at one another willy nilly without gun fights breaking out, the reality is that once a gun is leveled at you, all it takes is a squeeze of the trigger. There will be no warning or chance to do anything about it, your life (or int his game, your hours of looting and surviving) is on the line. Because of that, once a gun is pointed at you that is it, you can't afford to hope that the other person is a nice guy.

Go wander through cherno and elektro on a full server, I guarantee you you will get some interaction. Might not be the kind you enjoy though, lol!

My justification is prior experience. I haven't run into a single armed person in a major city who didn't try and kill me. The reason I had only a blaze rifle w/ 2 rounds is because I had just been killed a couple hours prior by someone running into the room I was in and axing me in the face before I could stop eating my food. And that was in the middle of nowhere. People are guilty until proven innocent in Dayz.

Just killed a guy in Elektro. Heard zombies, saw him killing one with his axe, and he ended up running around a corner. I had a blaze rifle with 2 rounds, so no room for error. I moved around so as to keep sight of him, saw him come out of the weird printing press building. He stopped when he saw me, I shot him in the lower body, then again as he was falling down. It was kind of awesome, not gunna lie. He had a loaded repeater on his back and he was in Elektro so I have to think he would've done the same.

This.....This is why I have trust issues.

Where are you finding sks ammo? I almost never see it in any kind of house, only place I find it is at airfields, and I'm not visiting one of those every time I need more ammo...

The only way .30-06 makes sense to include in the game is if there are other rifles that use it, like some bolt action hunting rifles. Make it a one shot drop (which .30-06 will do) on direct torso shots and the M1 Garand starts to look pretty awesome. If this make believe location has M1's laying around, it would naturally have tons of clips for it. Those things are a dime a dozen. Also, I want slugs. That way a mp-133 is a viable primary arm, you can hit targets at distance with slugs and use buckshot when in close quarters.

My first kill was with a mp-133. I was being attacked by a zombie, doing the run around thing to avoid being hit, I had a crappy melee weapon but didn't want to use my shotgun for noise and ammo reasons. As I'm doing this I notice a guy wearing a cowboy hat watching me. I finally bludgeon the thing enough times. He comes over and we stare at each other for a little bit. Keep in mind this was the first interaction with another player I'd ever had. I pulled out my shotgun and put him down with two shots, the first one only partially hit him because he strafed back and right as I pulled it on him. I wanted to see how well the shotgun worked in dayz, only one way to find out.

honestly, I'd stop playing the game if bullets and guns artificially became that rare. It already takes me awhile to amass 40-60 rounds, which realistically isn't that much ammunition. Especially when each shot fired draws zombies in that will also need to be shot. I'd imagine the new zombies will be more of a issue in melee combat then they are right now. There wouldn't be a ammunition shortage in real life, quite the opposite in fact. Yesterday I was working my way through Severograd and decided to use guns. I ended up being attacked by like 10-15 zombies and didn't find any ammo, they just kept coming.
