Thanks for the magazine heads up! I'm not sure I understand the attachment part, though. Should I spray paint the AKM? I was under the impression that it doesn't remove parts, it only makes them invisible until you log in the next time(?). I've tried putting the ATLAS bipod on when the gun was on the ground, in my hands and on my back. None has worked so far. :/ -

Holy shit! I tried the -newui just now and man was that an FPS increase. The problem is, the UI sucks big time. No hungry/thirsty/injured/etc. stats, bulky and hard to navigate etc. So one has to choose between good FPS and a UI that is actually usable. /cry -

I played on a full server and ran in the general northwestern direction (didn't check map to keep track, just went by hunch). Didn't see a single other player during the whole 3-4 hours. Even peacefully looted a downed helicopter I happened to come across. Where do people gather nowadays?

Finally met another player! Was looting a house when I heard footsteps. I closed the door to my room, and the footsteps were in MY house. For some reason he didn't come into my room, so when I heard him leaving I went out. He was outside and he spotted me. We looked at each other for a moment, then I raised my .357 and shot him in the face. Today was a good day!

Nah, I'm fine with being killed. I just want some action. Today I played on a full pop server and once again peacefully looted two heli crash sites. Played for a couple of hours and never saw anyone else.

I actually saw three deer run away from something unknown. Didn't see what it was, though.

You do come across nice people every once in a while. I actually saw three friends looting around in NWAF one time. They were quite heavily geared. I though "eff it" and made friendly contact, and we hade a nice chat for a while. No hostility.

So I've heard that you have to put some graphics settings to more than Very Low to actually get an FPS boost, because if it is too low it gets redirected from the GPU to the CPU. However, I tried playing around with different setting and I always have the best FPS when I have everything set to the worst quality. Is it just a myth, that GPU/CPU redirection thing? I'm on a quite shitty system (GeForce GT 520, lol). AMD quad core, 8 gig RAM.

You've got it all figured out man. If 3pp didn't affect 1pp, then I would have nothing against. What makes me grumpy is that 3pp drains the 1pp servers and keeps most of the 1pp low pop, because people want to play easy/cheat mode.

It's one thing if you're playing on a server which almost noone else plays on. But if you're playing on a popular high-pop server, you've got 50 guys running around 24/7. At one point in a future not too far away, they are collectively bound to have seen every place on the map. -
