I was minding my own business, locking some zombies in houses to surprise others when I hear multiple shooters down by the base of sniper hill. I move in to investigate and witness two players looting someone they have just murdered. What would you do? This is my story.... it doesn't end quite how I was expecting it to but I am not the only one who gets a surprise. Some of us are good, some of them are bad. :rolleyes:

Yes it was painful to watch. It is always easy later in the calm light of day to see how I could have done things better. For example shooting at the guy with the AKM, rather than the guy with a Mosin would have been more sensible. Not trying to change to an axe right at the end and reloading on the move to shoot the zombies would have been better. I felt bad for Geordie when he was shot covering me. He die din exactly the same circumstances later that same day when again I was looting like I had all the time in the world.

There are always players like that but you tried to be nice. I think you would have a better outcome if you all agreed to put weapons away. Es gibt immer Spieler so, aber Sie haben versucht , nett zu sein. Ich glaube, Sie würden ein besseres Ergebnis , wenn Sie alle einig , Waffen weglegen.

I had a recent experience in both the Military base and the NW airfield. I will put them in a film when I get chance but I have quite a few friendly encounters at both because I don't approach aggressively and usually (nearly always) have a weapon shouldered. I met a guy upstairs at Balota airfield. We both had weapons out but I only did because I was carrying two. We both looked a bit shocked but said we were cool and came out into the open. The other player (now a friend) said he was a survivalist and stuck to the wilderness but had always wanted a military gun. Well there weren't any, so I gave him my AK74 with about six boxes of ammo, a silencer and a wrap. We looted two villages together and I made a full sniper suit for him before going our separate ways. I met the other guy who was Spanish, at the military base and gave him a UK Assault vest. He said please don't shoot me although he had a weapon out and I didn't. We spoke for five minutes and moved on. I've actually had three friendly meetings moving through the NW airfield on one occasion. Admittedly, I saw the other person each time first. Had it been the other way around, it could have been different. Some of us are good, some of them are bad.

What goes around comes around. You deserved it buddy. I think the shot came from behind in the woods. You give some, you receive some. This was your turn. I prefer for the most part to take a risk by speaking. My experiences are usually good. This includes military bases and airfields. I don't surrender to anyone and have never been held up or handcuffed. I don't intend to either. Better luck next time.

Well, me and GeorideTom from the Knights of Mercy group met near to Kambiwobo and exchanged some stuff before proceeding into the village. Our plan was to travel together and meet another Knight Ender in Elektro before going inland. Things didn't quite work out to plan when we saw a player down the road with what looked like broken legs. That meant someone broke his legs, so we observed as two more shotgun sounds rang out, which I didn't hear. Soon enough, the shooter revealed himself, so I decided to take him down to prevent further injury to the victim and to protect me and my friend GeordieTom. As we got the the player who was now conscious, he was finished off by someone else but who? That's when things began to kick off and it got a little crazy for a while. "Some of us are good, some of them are bad". Here is our story...

The fight in Svet was funny where you ran into two guys. Well done. Are you ever friendly with people or is DayZ one big PVP for you?

I thought it was funny being shot at by your friend. I did that once by luckily missed too.

Well I had an odd day in DayZ which I decided to put on record. I spawned by Vybor, the place where you start in your pants and it was raining!! Although I only had a jacket and pants, I found a truck and thought I 'd go to the military place as a one stop shop to gear up. As I turned into the field to go to the camp, I saw fully geared players going there too and they saw (heard) me. One of the went to ground and I thought to shoot me out of my truck. As I had no shoes and don't like walking, what could I do? A dilemma of sorts... What would you have done? Trucks are 'semi' bullet proof :lol: After that incident, I had a couple of friendly encounters. Later in the day, I went to Berezino, heard lots of gunfire from multiple weapons and just had to stick my nose in where it wasn't wanted. I knew it was going to hurt but that's DayZ right?

To be honest I was in two minds about attacking them as I don't KoS. However, it seemed obvious they were going to try and shoot me out of the truck. I really don't know why they didn't get to the tree line and I couldn't have done anything other than drive off :rolleyes: I'm just glad I saw them as they were on the way to the base too. Would they have killed me there? I think so!

Well done m8 but I'd have to have gone to try and kill all of them for that. I have a Karma film too but the aggressors were American soldiers on leave :D They shot me for no reason when I was eating and minding my own business. It took me a couple of players to do it but I went back for them.

I used to get a lot more anxious when hurting other characters because it felt like I really was in a fight. Now I've played a lot of games over the years and first person shooters since Wolfenstein 3D. I've never bothered about stabbing people, shooting them or indeed setting them on fire but in this game it feels different. I think it is because we have interactions where we speak and get to understand there is a person behind the character. I know sometimes I get really angry when some douche shoots at me for no reason. Having said that I am glad they do because I enjoy the rush of the odd fight. In the video below at 50:42 I am shot at just after meeting a crazy Russian kid. I locate the sniper around 56:55 and there is a brief but violent fight soon afterwards. I was so pumped in that fight I swore loads and actually had to hold my mouse in my other hand to loot I was shaking so much. I couldn't give them the coup de grâce without really concentrating. Other players said the same in forums. After nearly 1,000 hours, I am a little more composed but still feel that buzz when in action.

My friend and me are looting up the NW airfield and just as I am about to open the door to the barracks, I spot movement inside..... We don't KoS. I try to make friends even at places like airfields and military bases, but sometimes people just don't want to talk to you and be friends <_<
