Should the game just be 1st person like Rust? The camera angle doesn't really make sense in PVP with 1st person shooting mechanics, people will lie behind trees, cars, inside bushes etc forever and look around the corner to overview the entire area. I've seen streams where people sit in a building for 30 minutes and look out the window. This camera angle allows you to see a wide area while being invisible, it's just illogical and hurts the game more than it improves it. A lot of people like the third person, it kind of makes them feel like they are safer when in fact, the opposite it true. With 3rd person enabled you can never be sure if someone is watching you or not, you cannot confirm it, because the person could be invisible and pop out from a corner at any moment and shoot you. With 1st person you will be able to see someone who can see you, also in general people will not be able to see you as often since they are limited by more objects blocking the view. Sure there are 1st person-only servers but only very few and only few people ever play on them. Usually I love 3rd person view, in single player games I always use it. But in multiplayer based games with pvp it just always creates these dumb stalemate type situations where everybody lies behind a bush. I think it should be removed, it has no place in such a game.

It would be amazing if a song like this came up if you enter a zombie infested town. EDIT: But then again zombies in this game aren't really that scary. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well I think most people are not aware of the issues that exist with 3pp or just play in the mode that everyone plays. But I think people could get used to 1st person quickly. Well let's see what the devs are gonna do, I personally don't have huge motivation to play on 3rd person anymore since realizing how everyone always looks around corners.

It doesn't matter what kind of apex predator they are, they are extremely afraid of humans because they recognize them as intelligent beings. Do a little bit of research, wolves will not even come close to humans 99% of the time. Now I could see if the dev team made it so that if you are in a tired injured state the wolves would attack you but in the trailer it looks like they always attack you whenever they see you which is complete bs and has nothing to do with realism.

The wolves are complete nonsense. In real life wolves don't attack humans.

Hello, I'm sure we all know of this exploit of running characters. Since momentum doesn't get preserved and there are no restrictions to the way you turn, you can basically move in extremely fast zig zags, which in addition to the desnyc and lag in the game often makes players move around in the most illogical ways imaginable. I have noticed that streamers like Lirik constantly use this exploit (or strategy, whatever you wanna call it) to run up to geared people, dodge their bullets and knock them out. I think this is kinda nonsensical. Irl you wouldn't be able to run up to a person who shoots at you with a shotgun and then beat him up because stopping and turning always takes a while. A simple way to try to fix this would be to limit turning speed, depending on how fast you are moving. So for example while standing you would have no restrictions at all, while walking there would be a slight restriction so you can't turn 180 degrees immediately and while sprinting it would be restricted even more. Running players would be able to run in curves (like in real life) but not change directions instantly. I'd like devs to consider this.

I didn't mean to say running up to people and beating them with a melee weapon is an exploit, I meant the way you can do it is. (Even though I think it's almost impossible to run up to a guy shooting a shotgun, if you have ever played with paintball or softair in real life you will know that people running towards you are the easiest targets in the world to hit). And yes you can zig zag in real life as well but not the same way you can do it in Dayz. In fact humans are not that good at zig zaging or turning while running (as opposed to animals) since they are tall and bipedal, they need to stop the entire mass of the upper body from moving first without falling over (usually by making smaller stopping steps and leaning backwards). The point I was making was that running into a direction full speed and turning 180 degrees witout losing momentum is kinda nonsensical, yet it is abused to the point that it has become a strategy. Players, instead of being careful and staying in cover, often run in circles and unpredictable patterns as fast as they can when they are afraid of being shot. Sure, the dev team could just leave that mechanic untouched but I think the game would be more fun if it was fixed. It would lead to more realistic encounters between players.

I've read that as well, I just thought it's probably possible to fix (or almost fix) this problem without implementing new technology. You could probably edit the mechanics so that everytime the character is in a moving state, the X-Axis camera movement speed is adjusted (but the looking speed needs to stay the same). Although I don't know exactly what the devs have planned for that.

I hope before they add stamina they add more vehicles and/or more places on the map. Walking over a gigantic field of nothing for 30 minutes is gonna be quite boring.

I don't know if this has been talked about much but what do you guys think about zombie infections? I have thought about it and I think it would be pretty cool if zombies had a certain chance to infect you when they hit you. Then after about an hour you would turn into a zombie. You could get cool situations where you never really know if one of your companions is infected or not and if you know he is, you would have to make the decision of shooting him or chase him away. Zombies would also be extremely dangerous and scary and you would usually have to either run away or shoot them to get rid of them with melee weapons only being the absolutely last option. In certain areas with a lot of zombies you would have to play really carefully to be able to enter the location and get the loot. It would also encourage teamplay to kill off big amounts of zombies.
-
That's a weird explanation. So you're saying there can't be a scenario where most of humans get infected but a few manage to live due to caution, weapons, survival abilities etc? This 'players are immune' thing is pretty lame imo and I can't really see a reason why zombification shouldn't be in the game. You could pretty much replace the current zombies with wild, aggressive animals and it wouldn't make a difference. This zombie virus/infection or whatever you wanna call it, that is responsible for the death of pretty much all inhabitants in Chernarus has absolutely no relevance at all in the game which I think is unfortunate. I could understand that in the mod nobody really concerned themselves too much about that but in a full game, I would love to see the devs kind of make it relevant.

I just got attacked by several invisible zombies. I wasn't even in a building, they attacked me on the street with no chance for me to kill them. That has never happened to me so far. The question is: should zombies be removed as long as they don't work correctly? Right now their only purpose is to annoy you beyond imagination, they don't add anything meaningful to the game . With the new update they even come silently from behind, not to mention that they track you through walls (and sometimes run through them as well). And how can they make you bleed by slapping you anyway? And why is the wound so big that you need to bandage every time? I just don't see the point of having this incredibly broken thing in the game. Especially in something like the Survivor Gamez zombies shouldn't be in the game, they just ruin the experience for the players.
-
But what about SGZ? I think broken mechanics like that should not exist in a competitive environment. I don't think you understood the point of this thread.
-
Who cares? They are broken as hell.

Facilitating Peaceful Player Interaction: Trade & Reputation

But some people even in real life killed many humans and didn't care (eg serial killers). You can't enforce these stupid moral mindsets on everyone that doesn't make sense and isn't fun. -

Here is how you encourage friendly interaction between players: Add other dangers that are easier to overcome in groups. For example big zombie groups that are very dangerous and need to be shot or special infected that are harder to kill than normal ones. Right now the only thing that can really kill you are other people, so you might as well shoot them first. -
So my friend and I were sitting on a building checking the area. We were both fully geared with HELMETS. Suddenly this one guy runs on to the roof who has nothing but a farming hoe, I turn around and he hits me and I die instantly. My friend tries to shoot him, misses one shot and then he gets insta killed too. WTF? Why does a tool like that kill you instantly? That makes no sense for it to do so much damage. I think the devs should really look into that thing.

We had not seen anyone for like 40 minutes and had been eating and drinking alot, I'm pretty sure we were completely healthy. I just think this makes no sense, someone finding this thing in a shed somewhere and can onehit people who are completely armed. Also I have never seen a melee weapon be this strong. I thought I could at least survive a few hits.
