That's low. But the guy did lower his guard. If it had been me I woulda searched his pack 1st. Always do, never know if there's good shit to steal or your saving yourself like here. Not that that means the Op was justified, as a matter of fact if anyone tries this with me and I see a revolver in your pack you're getting shot in the face. -
Alright so I think I might have thought of a system that could work. I'l explain it with a scenario... Say me and Chiefmon are both in Cherno and Chief spots me and wants to see if I'm friendly. So he sneaks up behind me and whacks me over the head with the crowbar. I go down and out but not dead. Instead I have a Trauma "mark" on me (familiar) This mark lasts until X seconds after I have revived (10 - 20 I'm thinking). If I'm KO'd again while the trauma status is in effect I will die. The KO also applies a concussion mark on me. This stays for Y minutes after the initial KO. If I am knocked out after the trauma and before the concussion marks expire then the next knock out has a reduced duration (like 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 1 minute, 10 seconds etc). With these two combined a PKer will PK even with a non-lethal weapon, and a griefer won't be able to "stunlock" a player as effectively (10-20 seconds is alot of time for the player in question to kill them before getting knocked out again for a reduced duration) While also allowing legitimate teamers to give a player multiple chances. Also (just a sub idea) if this does get implemented I believe it should be different than the KO efect we already have. Maybe you can still look around but only slowly (and for higher graphical/auditorial settings have a gaussian blur effect with a reverb sound effect).

A good idea, but I think it should be cut down to 10 or 15 seconds. Enough time to run to cover if you have some zeds on you but not enough to actively search for the person who shot you. Also I assume the darts would be loaded with horse tranquilizer or something and as far as I understand that stuff is powerful

I had one story about GM... I have not returned since. Demon Groover linked my post about it... But... I can feel something calling me to that place. Perhaps when I can again play I shall return. But this time I shall bring with me all the fury of the hell Chernaraus has become. And I will not be alone.

And these reasons are why I love having a GOOD bag (Get Out Of Dodge). And I'm out in the country, have access to a personal armament + many melee weapons. Additionallly I could likely make it to my local Walmart/Canadian Tire in time to get something else for defense. That'd be a sketchy move though. -
So i loaded up the game with 1.7.2.3 and it start to run real nice. Smooth As butter on silk (nice rocket). Yeah this was on CA 1, I don't know if it's just that server or other server's but I heard other players shooting nearby so I legged it the fuck out of there so I could logg off in the woods safely. -

Suggestion: Expanding on in-game voice communication

Without side chat, only people within ~40-80m would hear them and at the higher end of that spectrum it would be a much lower volume. + they would simply be broadcasting their position. Don't forget constant direct would not affect 90% of the players in the server. @OP: I'm all for the constant direct, and Megaphone Idea. I think the direct comms already replicate the talk whisper shout idea to a degree but don't quote me on that. -
^^^ This. Steam has a season pass for it available (access to all 5 episodes as they become available.) And it's styled off the comic, Plus it is actually slightly traumatic since you are forced to make no time cut and run decisions with consequences almost immediately after. Its both terrifying and amazing.

I've found that UAZ before, got it repaired and hid it in the forest nearby. It's a legit car I believe. I've seen 2 spawn in. BTW nice camping the north of Starry Sobor. (Is it sad I know almost exactly where he is) -

Yes an Alpha would be the best time to make major changes. But that is really at rockets discretion, It's like that one signature on here (can't remember whose it is) It's rockets game, as such he is allowed to do whatever he wants with it. We are merely along for the ride, but he is the driver. And you never annoy the driver. -
Yes you paid $24 - 30 for ARMA 2. Not Dayz, regardless of what you think your reasoning was, DayZ costs 0 dollars and from what I hear it might be possible to play Dayz without buying CO (not sure on the legality of it however). If you only watched youtube vids (of people who only captured their best moments) and thought you wanted to try this game with no further research, then that is a LARGE case of buyers remorse... If you had done research you would have realized that people like the yogscast crew had a special start, or that most videos don't start with people on the coast. You would also learn that the game is in ALPHA and as such is in a perpetual state of instability. Rocket and BI owe you NOTHING. It's your fault you're in this mess, now they might be nice (and Valve might too) and reimburse you, but by no means should you believe that you are ENTITLED to a refund.

I lolled TechnoAlchemist is probably one of the best players I've ever seen. Not only did he not DC, but even stayed up there like a champion the entire time. Alas I cannot connect to the game atm, even 1.7.2.1 is giving me serverside errors so We shall have to delay my stories for a while.

Yes it's possible that people would start killing for more ammo but here's the crux of the thing... Noone would have any. Since we can't see what ammo a person is carrying it would be up ot the bandit to choose wether 1- 5 of his 30 Stanag rounds should be expended on the player with a fireax in the hopes that he is carrying a random Stanag clip. Yes he might get lucky and find a clip but more likely than not there will be nothing on the body and he will have wasted those 5 rounds on a fruitless goal. Now in the event mr M16 come across a M4 user or some other Stanag utilizing rifle then yes it is likely there would still be murder for the ammo. But that is how I believe the game SHOULD be played. I see you have something I want, therefore I will kill you to take it. Not I see that you might possibly be a threat if I drop my guard and stand in the open, therefore I should kill you now. I've been in favour of the reduction of ammo and possibly guns (at the very least a slight reduction of military loot) for a while now. It fits the theme in my belief as this does not appear to be a 5 minutes after outbreak scenario but upwards of one or two months since the outbreak and thus military locations and ammo in general would be much harder to find since most common places would have been looted already. -
