He opened his gear menu and went from a M14 AIM and Alice pack, to an AS50 + coyote as well as gaining NVGs and a rangefinder along with various other items. @OP: I'm guessing it was a hacker who was going to see what carnage he could cause by giving everyone those items. (I would presume other got them as well)

Thermal is OP, the bullets are kinda shitty.

But not more powerful than the AS50. M107 takes 2 or 3 shots on engine block to destroy a vehicle (I think). AS50 takes 1.

M4A1 CCO SD is. M4A1 Holo SD is not AFAIK.

The only flaw I see is a crowbar and a crossbow. with no backpack. Otherwise grand fun. Maybe I'll jump on a private server and do this.

This will likely by used to test new mechanics and features. Dogs, variations on the item spawns (ie devoid of anything everywhere) etc. Bugtesting will have to be done on the standalone version

The only part of that story I don't mind is the logging off right after logging in and taking fire. Everything else is cowardice, but in that instance and in the case of a hack attack I can understand choosing to logg off immediately. You need a bit of time to gather your surroundings after logging on, trying to do so while taking fire will likely end up killing you. (IRL if I woke up and heard gunshots I'd still be on the ground and act dead long enough to understand the situation. In DayZ we don't have that option)

Agreed Banditry is needed in this game... But what you describe is not banditry. Banditry is exciting because there's the uncertainty factor. If I cooperate I may get out with my life, if I don't He'll probably shoot me. Can I take him on and possibly win, if he shoots 1st will I have time to react and shoot back? Will following him end up being beneficial to me or just a hindrance. With people like you there is no uncertainty. Your going to shoot me, so I have to shoot you better, faster, more. You are slightly elevated from the zombies that shamble around. You are a zombie with a gun... do not put yourself on the same level as real bandits.

Definitely an AS50

I found 2 on my home server a few weeks back. 1 was the red variation which a friend and I repaired from scratch (after i ran from bloody cherno to the north to get back to it). the second was a military variation which I'm pretty sure was abandoned because the engine block was red. Drove the two of them together and then I'm pretty sure reality collapsed as I parked them near each other but still decently far, and then the military one randomly exploded. (This was before the mass induction of hackers and the server hadn't been experiencing any strange activity)

Had a dream I was part of an excavation crew (don't know why). When we suddenly started getting shot at. I got pegged in the leg and it broke but somehow that made me gain a Winchester with ammo, I snuck around the bandits and took out two before getting gunned down. Then suddenly my "consciousness" transferred to another one of the team members and so did the Winchester and I took out the other 2. You think your dreams are messed up?

But it does make it hacking when the game does not normally spawn it in. At this point I ave to say any remaining TWS are probably gone or in the hands of hackers and should probably just be buried on sight.

I sincerely hope this is a troll post. If not then GTFO now. Don't make any remarks about the it's alpha replies. Because that's the truth, IT IS AN ALPHA. Do you understand why most companies only have closed betas? Because most of the time even THEY have ridiculous amounts of bugs. Alphas are used as a form of rapid prototyping. Most of the systems are jury rigged in an effort to see how things play out. That is why we get such random gameplay changes, because doing this stuff in a beta, while bug testing would result in the product never going gold. Beta test's are usually used to root out bugs and quash them underfoot. The recent trend in the industry of releasing an almost complete game with minor bugs as a "beta" is nothing more than a publicity stunt to generate hype. Essentially you are not truely in a beta. So if your complaining about stability degrading in an ALPHA whether it is standalone or mod, then quite frankly... You are doing it WRONG. You are allowed to post your feedback, but if your feedback amounts to any derivation of "WTF U DO ROCKET TEH GAME SUXORS" then kindly click the X button at the top right of your screen and go outside or something for a few hours to calm down. /vent Now the fact that the standalone has been announced will probably mean the loss of continued development of this mod. This is true. But the way I see it that probably won't be for a while, since they will have to code the mechanics and systems again for the new engine. As well as any elements that were taken from ARMA 2. And while I imagine that the team has started by now on this it will still take time for them to achieve this point of "completion again". In the mean time they will probably devote a few hours here and there to creating new mechanics and testing how they work on the mod, then importing them to the standalone. I've said my piece now. Barring any profound questions I return you to your thread.
