    New Camo-Skin: urban Camo

    I think camo could have a greater purpose than for DM. Like... Urban camo gives you -1 visibility on urban environment and ghillies etc. give you -1 visibility in nature.

    Characters with actual names

    Hey there, Yesterday I had an idea on how to make the game more immersive. I would like to know your opinion on it! Every player should have to have one actual name for all of his survivors. This name should be displayed in game instead of his nickname. Why? Because it's in my opinion way more interessting to bump into a guy called "Jason M. Mason" or a "Charles Everett" instead of someone called xXiPWNurMomXx (though I have to say that nicknames in DayZ aren't this annoying so far). It makes me feel more connected to my character and makes a way more immersive gameing experience. It adds more role play into the game. Wth some more player skins, this could bring in great diversity. You can also add some new gameplay mechanics to it: So you want to play as a bandit and get on with it, but no one should be able to know you name? You put on a mask or hood that you found in a pile of loot and no one will be able to see your name. You put it down when you're not in need of your disguise anymore. OF COURSE: No one should be required to use his real name at all.

    Characters with actual names

    "his name was unkown" got fixed in one of the latest Arma 2 beta patches. I prefer a server with 3DP Off, crosshair and display of names. Did rocket say which set of preferences is meant for DayZ? @ActionMan: Nice! Maybe there is a good chance for this "feature".

    Server Wipe Global

    I think it is alright as it is for Alpha. It shows you how the game develops in the late stages and where the bugs and possible exploits are. As long as it is alpha or beta, I don't mind it at all. Of course I want to see a complete wipe later on!
  6. Me too I prefer the AKM over the other AKs (beside Kobra sight modells). I just prefer it for reasons, I don't really know. It feels more rough and powerful to me. Everytime I have an AKM, someone dies (or I just seam to win firefights with it, lol).

    Radio stations in cities

    I think this idea is quite nice. Imagine there is a safe city and some (7?) people went there for some suplies, teaming up and trading. One starts to shoot on another player, because of claiming loot or whatever. How do the other players react? Kill the aggressor? Running away? Or starting to shoot each other in a moment of chaos and confusion. --- In general this promotes to stay on one server with your character. Right now only tents and vehicles do so right now.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

    I think one solution could be quite simple: I can't disconnect when I'm unconcious. Why not do the same when being in shock? Getting shot: Shock Zombie havoc: Shock Possible things: Simple Zombie attack: Shock Getting almost shot and bullets fly around your ears: Shock That would definatly spice things up! Of course you could still force quit the game, but in all honesty it takes way more time to do so than disconnecting and if force quitting ends in sync error and future problems with your character because of bugs: Justice.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

    I think that toolboxes spawn enough. However I have to agree that it has to be easier to remove it. The "hitbox" is so hard to reach! One of my new goals in the game is to remove annoying wire cutters in the game. After removing some in a firestation, I got an AK74u with 3 mags as reward =)

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

    You need to change the map. Me and a friend where scavanging around and were able to see each others locations on maps. That's okay. We've played together for a couple of hours. However we were able to see strangers on the map too. People that we never even spotted (regular server). I'm also quite sure that they haven't spotted us too. So that needs to be fixed. I would love to create and join groups or something.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.1.5 Rolling Update

    This patch feels great! The game mechanics are very enjoyable right now. kudos! Just some things so far: -In some areas I felt like there were hardly any Zombies (max. Z in server: 500; alive 450) and I was actually scavanging threw Cherno. -If you know the cities and the bigger buildings, Zs aren't a big threat. It's easy to loose them in them. Maybe I just had a server with an unusual amount of Zs. -Barbed wire is ridicolous. It allows better equiped players to basically camp a lot of major loot points. My suggestion: Let us vault over barbed wire! With the cost of loosing blood and occasional bleeding. -There was loot in about 2m above the ground floating. Kinda strange. There was no corps, no general looting point and I was not able to reach it (might have been interessting though). No starting weapon was interessting today: Someone surprised me, I imidiatly shoot at him point blank, appologized, bandaged him. Gave him the Lee Einfield in the building before I leaved. I would have probably killed him, if would have surprised me with a gun. Why is everyone asking to remove the backpack all of a sudden? It would be okay though, but I think it's enough to swap it with a czech west pack (or however it's called)

    * [FIXED] Infected sometimes not inspecting thrown items (they will walk to the location of a noise, 20-40m away) So... flares and stuff? Flares during daytime too? Can I throw empty cans? If you implement all the features and tweak the Z AI, than this will be absolutly fabolous!

    Increase respawn time

    There must be some time between respawns. People just don't value their ingame life enough. They keep on respawning until they are finally on the position that they want to. Lame! Life is especially not valued since you have nothing at the beginning at all. There should be some consequence! Here is a story that shows what happens due to low respawn times: -------- Yesterday I played on a night server I saw two guys scavanging Elektro with some flares. I was on top of the firestation and proned. I only had a flashlight and some magazines. When I saw them I tried to establish communication. There were Zs around my building and the flares would have shown my position for sure if I tried to escape. I wanted to check out the situation first. Turns out they are bandits. They shot a guy in front of my eyes and didn't answer to me at all. Also they were actually three guys. Since they didn't answer and shot a guy and had no idea where I was, I started to mock them a bit via chat. I couldn't go anywhere and that was my way of passing the time. Watching them and leave some nasty comments in chat. One of them dies. He keeps on respawning until he is in Electro again. By the time they got an idea where I could be. Since there where a lot of Zs and that they didn't had an idea if I had a gun or not, the fresh respawned guy climbed up to my position and "tested" me. There was no real risk for him, because there was nothing to loose. The other one had something to loose after all. So they noticed that I had no weapon. I tried to escape and got shot in the head by some other guys. This wouldn't have happened this way, if there was any consequences for respawning too often.

  18. Forget about your gear! This is alpha. You can bet there will be some kind of reset for beta or full release. Who cares? We are hear for testing! Loosing stuff can be part of it. @Zomba: Don't give up on it. I'm sure if Zs AI is finally reasonable, than it will work out fine. Loosing them after a chase, might also be easier.
  19. Sry, but: no. This is an alpha. This might be okay during a beta, but seriously it's an alpha version. We are supposed to test it!
  20. I also think that Zs are way too sensitive to hearing. I got some really really weird moments today. I think they are too sensitive in general. Try to play on a night server. They react way to abnormal and too sensitive for the low amount of sight that I have during night.
  21. This just doesn't feel right. Do Zs have supersight again or something? It's pitch black night and they see me 60m away while crouched and "one bar" for sight. Do they go more after sound now? I'm confused.

    * [NEW] Once infected lose line-of-sight they will try investigate where you are Super! Way better than standing around or blocking ways and houses after a chase. My two cents.     People complain(ed) so much about the latest big changes, but I really think that they work out great when everything is fixed and sound. Like: * [FIXED] Hunger and Thirst no longer continue to drop while you are offline (only ingame time counts) This was a big issue for me. Especially since food and water seamed to be so extremly rare in 1.7.1.2. It almost felt like a feature lol For me it's most important that you fix Z behavior. When I can manage to save myself into a house with one door and they loose me, I can hardly walk out of their again. They just stand their and block the way out. Anyway keep on the great work!
