    Duping: 3/4 of High Level Gear is Duplicated

    I only found two AS50. One was a legit helicopter crash loot. The rest was from a dead player. I found 3 M107. One legit heli loot. Two player kills. One tent stealing. It really seams common to me now! Yet I only found one DMR on a player. Two M24s in the whole game. No SVD. Maybe 5 or 6 CZs at max! I think duping is a huge problem in DayZ. Someone brought up a very good issue: Stuff spawns and spawns and than gets looted by new player. There aren't not a lot of reasons why items will disappear.
  2. This. Not everybody has to be friendly, but things got out of hand. People complain that friendlies want to force a playstyle on them. However I already get forced into the shoot on sight mentality. It's absurd. This is a game breaker. I hope rocket puts in more elements that encourage teamplay. Not so much punishment for killing.

    I spent the time playing like ammo isn't infinite. So I have right now a CZ, M14 and a G17 on my char. I'm roaming around Zelengorsk. I've realised that there will be a lot of risk be involved. All in all I must say that Zeds actually feel fine and good right now. You just have to prone from time to time or simply crouch walk! ... Right now it's all about if a town grind is worth it or not. There is no need for me to go into the town besides a tent or a ghillie. Wires and occasional ammo from industry building is fine, but not needed. I seam to HAVE to visit the industry building too, so the trip gets even. I mean: Costs even the use. BLAH! I just want to say that I look forward to this update. Towns get risky because ammo gets sacred again. It makes the game more fun again. Infinite ammo was cool for trying out guns, but let's move on. What will happen to the debug monitor in beta or standalone? Will it completly dissapear? I'm so used to it right now...

    Skalisty Island - Sanctuary and Trading Post

    ! People already did it successfully in Ballota airfield for example. There is a whole trading guild with guards etc. that work together for one big trading event from time to time. I actually don't know the name of the group. Grab a pack of bodies and create such a place if you want something like that to exist.

    All servers should be hardcore

    I prefer expert servers, but I don't really think that it is the all way to go. Though I would welcome a standard for all servers. Regular servers could be used as training servers for new players. Your character wouldn't be saved on the hive and therfor not portabled to actual gaming servers.

    Triple Kill @ NW

    I thought the same. For me this was an exploit to messure the distance. Now that I know that something like this exists, I will definatly stay on my veteran and expert servers. Than I know that the people who sniped me at least had a range finder or actually use the mildot system =/ Boring video. Triple kill on slow moving targets from 400m away... so pro! Go and enjoy your COD style triple feed!!!

    legit: M107, M14, Rangefinder, GPS, PDW and the usual stuff at the same time. "unlegit": One of my tents got a bug and spewed out a M4A1 CCO SD. This gun had a silencer, camo and a red dot sight.

    The same reasons made me want to start a similar crusade. I didn't do it, because I'm not that much into waiting. One day someone sniped me from more than 1000m away with a .50 cal. Come on. I had no chance to see that fucker! I'm not that much against sniping players, but I hate it when they don't even try to collect the loot of their victim. It just sucks. Maybe I will pick the idea up again.

    AKS 74 Kobra

    I think the AKS 74 Kobra is my favourite automatic rifle against zombies. I can just kill them way faster because ot the sight. Yeah keep that gun. M14 is my weapon of choice against other players. Worked great so far!

    It is. Anybody can imagine what hacks are like. This is exactly what I thought. Nothing new. You can't just post such things and boost it's popularity. You can't stop hacking. It's like an armsrace. Someone builds up, the other one closes some holes, the next one comes up, the holes close... Just look at computer hacks and viruses. There is NO hack proove game out there. DayZ is getting popular that's why it gets exploited and hacked. Yes you can fix some things, but overall there will be always hacks. It's hard to say, but... Deal with it. I got hacked in a game yesterday. I deal with it too. This is alpha. Security issues must be uncovered and fixed. If this happens in a full game or even beta, than you have every right to complain the hell out of this issue. Now... pointing it is good, but move on. If you don't want to... fine, but don't expect a standalone version to have no hacks at all. That would be naiv.

    Someone suggested something very interessting (at least for me). The idea is assuming that tents and vehicles are saved in the hive. Why not save them on each server? If there are more than a million tents, than there are more tents than unique players in the game. This is crazy! It's probably because of duping (Intentional and bugs). Tents and vehicles are only the buisness of the according server. There is no need to save them in a central database beside security and preventing admin exploits. The same goes with barbed wire, sandbags etc. Saving those things for one server should be easy (in my opinion). Saving all those things on a central server isn't. If those things are already saved on each server indevidually, than I can't really see why there are still so many horrible bugs and exploits. @bola: Censor your link please. Don't make advertising for the site!!!

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.5

    I would like to know something. Today I had my second real undeniable hacker encounter. First there were two helicopter crashes next to each other (maybe 50m apart). And there was a lonely heli. When I try to go to the heli, my bones break and I die. What the hell was that? I couldn't hear anything. Does that happen if someone shoots at you from 1000m away with a .50 cal? What made me wonder about this is, that me and my friend were at the area the whole last hour and after we scouted the nearest area, we didn't care about safety and were out in the open. All the time we were some pretty nice targets, but nothing happened. Why was there no bullet sound at all??? Was that a legit kill or a hack? I really don't know! Well anyway. I respawn and after 10 or 5 minutes we all get teleported next to Ballota. Even the vehicles. Someone starts shooting and the slaughter began. Thankfully my friend was able to log out fast enough. I had nothing to loose and tried to figure out more. Of course someone shot me.
  16. I think your ideas are great. After ironing out current, bugs, glitches and exploits they should have an eye on your suggestions for sure. I espcially like your ideas for new items. I just miss the batteries. For me it's too easy to get geared up fast. Alice pack, a nice gun and sidearms and the essential survival tools are fast to get. I would love to see them get harder to come by. I also think that you can have everything you really need with a Coyote backpack. Degrading the chance of item spawning is silly. There would be too many trash lieing around. It would make the game really monotone. More items spice up the experience. If there are more useful items that I can actually can carry, than teamwork gets way more interessting. The idea of boxes is nice too, but I'm somehow afraid that the item interface will get too cluttered and too complicated.

    Tents are random as f. One of my tents just spewed out an M4A1 CCO. Of course I took the chance and equipted it. I never had the gun before in my life. The surpressor and cammo are awesome. @ruaraz: Sounds nice. The damage of weapons should be more tweaked. I personally like the current modell, but heavy handguns are pretty much useless gear.

    This will be important and the first step in stopping the inflation of item value. Oh man... I'm excited! As it is right now I exploit the heck of this bug xD I can't really remember how the game played before the bug. Next thing would be fighting duping one bug after another ;D

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.4 Rolling Update

    Someone suggested some sort of piece sign. I used "surrender" once because there was a guy at Ballotta and I had no weapon or anything. He let me live and allowed me to gather some loot before I moved on. In your case some sort of piece sign would have worked too. Once I waited for some player so I can steal his backpack and some other player spotted me. He layed onto the ground like he wanted to open fire. I opened fire on him and killed him with a M14. Than I discovered that he was unarmed. I never want to kill unarmed players, but his behavior was some sort of hostile for me. A piece sign would have saved him. There was another guy who had an M14 as well and I was for sure in easy kill range. He must have heard the shots from me and a friend against Zeds. So he was next to our new base... He didn't opened fire. We starred at each other for some time until I elaborated that this wasn't my bud laying in the bushes. I opened fire on him, because I panicked. A piece sign might have been his rescue. I had no idea if he was friendly or not. I had no headset and typing would have made me a standing target. This guy was strange anyway. M14 as well. GPS, DMR.... This guy was very well equipted. I don't understand why he didn't tried to kill me on sight. Too well equipted for a survivor if you ask me. Well anyway. I use the "surrender" body language from time to time and it works! Too bad that I had to assign it to a new key before it could actually work. I would love to see something easier implemented in the game. Here is a video about it:

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.4 Rolling Update

    I can understand you, but your last statement is: GOOD. Too hard for lone wolf? Team up! People might stop this insanely shoot on sight mentality or decrease it. I play in a team of two. Most of the time I'm a lone wolf. I have a good time. We do have our bases, but most of the time we are just hoarding stuff. I can't remember when I actually picked a gun out of a tent. The thing is that it got so easy for me to get a rifle in the game. AKM feels so common for me by now! Hack even red dot sight AKS-74s! That's why I would like to see a reduction of advanced weapon spawns (as crazy as it sounds). Of course duping must be fixed first! What really makes my life to easy in the game is the fact that all magazines on your character will be refilled after you respawn. I would really like to see how this game place when this gets fixed. It would be nice to see if I would really drop my M14 for an Enfield just because there is more ammo for it. ... or ... would I stick to my PDW that can use M9 and G17 mags, but has a bad iron sight and needs 4 body shots for a Zed? Oh this excits me! ... even if I will cry for leaving my lovely M14 behind... Good point. Are you sure that only DayZ weapons are nerfed? Maybe a mod can't modify the damage of a weapon. Altough patching a whole game for a single mod sounds crazy and irrational as f*.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.4 Rolling Update

    I can understand a lot of the complains, but I have to say that I like them! -Gun nerfs (by BIS?): That was a REAL surprise to see that my 1911 took more than 3 shots for a Z. I almost thought that the Zeds were bugged. I like some changes of the nerfs like the Enfield nerf. In my opinion the revolver and 1911 should be at least a 2 shot kill for Zeds or they are pretty much pointless. MP5 feels more useless now. Maybe it's just me... I like the changes for the AKs. Now there is a reason or fact to switch to M4s, AKMs and M16. Before that a switch was pretty much pointless (beside iron sights). -Tents and duplicating At least fix duplicating. Item inflation blah blah. You know the deal. -Zeds LOS It kinda feels unnatural too me. It's not too bad though. -Zeds audible range This makes them a real threat. Before the update I had no problem at all when firing my M14 in a city. Now this gun can bring me into big big trouble! It makes weaker guns like the AKs or MP5 attractive for city raids. Before the update Zeds were annoying. Because if you alert them, you might also alert other players. Now they are a threat again! That's good. I just feel that the respawn rate is a bit too high. Zeds should also spawn in a radius of 1000m to a player. Why? Right now you can easily tell if a player is a town, by searching for Zeds in the distance. This is way to game breaking to me! -No respawn Makes me value life more. Your friends are in Solnichy and you respawn in Kamenka? Bad luck! Might be more careful next time. We're just used to respawning. That's all. We are used to it as much as I'm too much used to the debug monitor (and oh boy how much I will miss a blood status with numbers when it might be gone!!!). -Graphic glitch Sucks. Happened to me in every update (since two months so far though). You spawn in Kamenka, but died in Elektro, want to take revenge and get your body? Not anymore! Happened to me and did it to a guy to test it's effectiveness. It worked way too good. Now it stopped. I hope this brings a lower deathmatch level to Cherno and Elektro. BTW: Spawning in Kamenka is not bad at all! The city has some nice loot places and there are three deer stands next to it. Spawning in Solnichy is spawning close to Berezino etc. Take your time and explore the smaller cities and places. There is plenty of stuff! I'm satisfied enough that I can respawn when I have a broken leg. That's very helpful. Big thanks for that option! I just hope that people don't exploit it too much, but if they really invest the time, they could've also take the time to friggin' walk the distance!!! I noticed it by myself on how low I valued my fresh spawned character. Got killed? doesn't matter! Just press respawn for some time until you're back in the place you died. I hope this makes me value my char at a much earlier state of progression. I would like to see some item spawns reduced. Right now I got almost everything that I ever wanted on my char (beside NVGs and Ghillie). So what`s left? Well at least me and a friend try to build a fort with sandbags, barbed wire, tents and steel hedgehogs... but let's assume that I didn't got the idea to do that! Well I would be left to try my first M107 on cows in 1000m distance. When I've mastered that, than I would be left with PvP and trying it on players. Yes it's a sandbox game, but I need more content and more stuff to do! PvP out of boredom doesn't feel right to me. There should be more in this game (as you hopefully planned). PvP is fine though. I just feel like we need way more purposes to live beside PvP and gathering loot. Survival isn't that much of an issue after some time. Well I like the patch and like the direction the game is heading. This game gives me an experience that no other game can. It sounds harsh, but well... if you don't like it: Move on. Try another game. You might find the game experience YOU've always wanted. Stop wasting your time here and whine about wasted potential about YOUR vision of this game. It's rocket's vision. You and me don't have to agree with it. Especially when it's a F2P mod.

    Official patch 1.62 must be requirement in the next update. I play with it and a friend doesn't on the same server. He doesn't suffer the weapon nerfs at all! He can still one shot (to the body) Zs with a revolver and 1911!
