I asked this question of Brian at RTX and he stated that currently it is counting against the CLE, but it will not in the future. My context was, what happens when a fully loaded out clan comes on to a public server? Does every weapon disappear because they just brought in their own aresnal? And how is that fair if you can't gear up to compete? So, when it will no longer count, I don't know, but the intent is for camps and personal gear to not count against the CLE.

A few questions without reading through 18 pages of comments... -Is persistence optional? The server I'm playing on (Vilayer) does not seem to be persistent. - For persistence, does an item have to be in a bag, or tent, etc? Or can I leave it on the ground near my respawn point? And if so, for how long? -Do all trucks spawn empty? About 6 hours total game play on this release, I've found 4 vehicles, all empty. Not a single gas canister anywhere. -Are backpacks now a luxury item? 3 hours in, and miles from the coast before I found a backpack... -Any chance of getting Zombies on this release, or are they out until .59? P.S. yes, I know they're not zombies.

What are the odds of getting a new stable branch release this week? Anyone hear any news that I may have missed?

So i'm just curious, but do server owners have an option to wipe persistent servers? I packed up prior to the maintenance wipe on Wednesday. On Thursday, I went in, setup camp and dug a garden. Logged in Friday night and there was no sign of camp, or garden... I doubt it was found on a low pop server in a very remote spot.

That's what I'm saying. I've already begun hoarding ammo for hunting and the occasional "oh shit, zombie" moments.

I just think there are more people out there looking for interaction, but the game play never really forced it. With the increased scarcity of ammo, and weapons, I think it will force more interaction. That's where I disagree.

I couldn't disagree more. While there are some out there that just want to shoot, I would say there are a lot of us out there looking for interaction, and working together. My buddies and I offer rides when we have vehicles, food, fire, whatever. We had one night where 7 complete strangers somehow bumped into one another, no joke, in the middle of elektro. We ended up setting up a fire and sitting around talking. One shared his pumpkin garden to feed us all. It was so rare we all posed for photos.

All I want to know is when will I be able to walk and eat/drink, or do so while a passenger in a vehicle. Passengers should be able to mend, eat, drink, warm up, etc. while in a vehicle.

So glad the Dev's idea of what DayZ should be is the same as mine. The only real concern I have is how long does it take to find that balance of surviving vs. constant desperation. I enjoy the thought of having to stock food and supplies due to scarcity but at what level of scarcity does the game still remain tough, but fun...

I've had the same thing happen to me on a set of stairs. Just knocked down, and unable to move. Still fully conscious and everything visible. Logged out and in and it fixed it.

That's the problem with Vilayer. They are unresponsive. Heaven forbid you have a problem on a Friday, you won't get any service until some time on Monday. That's ridiculous.

I'm using an i-5 4690 3.5Ghz with 8 gigs of ram and the GTX970. Since adding the memory command, whether video memory or otherwise, it hasn't crashed yet.

I just cancelled my Vilayer server. I'm done with those yahoo's. My server has had more issues than I care to type out here, but the general response from Vilayer is "oops, sorry about that.". I'm looking for a new GSP, and I think it's going to be Fragnet. Anyone know if public server hosts have access to logs on Fragnet?

I was having that issue initially, but after adding -maxMem=2047 to my start up options I haven't crashed and played 6 hours straight yesterday. Sucks to have a GPU with 4 gigs memory that you can only use half of, but it did seem to fix the issue.

I disagree. If the end goal is for base building, and long term survival, I think this will be a great option. Now, does it make sense at this point in the design process, when camps are wiped out each week? That's a whole other question, but I like the concept. Maybe too it will decrease the smoke that is visible from distance which then makes it a stealthier choice as well...

Has anyone tried cooking on the oven, instead of the tripod? Do you still need a pot if you craft the oven using the 8 small stones on the fire?

I agree with the rain coats but have to disagree on the food. Mind you, I play on a persistent server, but there's so much food lying around I don't bother to pack any. It's strewn everywhere but can't find a box of ammo...

Anyone having trouble looting dead bodies? We had a guy run up to our truck and died, couldn't loot his gear. Then my buddy died, and I couldn't loot his gear. Tried stripping naked, cycling my own gear, etc.. Had no luck in either case.

I tried other items but it only allowed meat. On a side note, to limit space, you can store your meat in the pot while it's in your bag.
