Yeah it got caotic fast, my friend has just started playing DayZ so i dont expect him to pull me out of any situations. I play with him because hes a good friend, not because of l33tness or coordination skills. =) On a sidenote Lauri7x3, if you make a survivalguide for new players. Do you think its optimal if its made by someone who is a very experienced and skilled shooter? So the guide starts with: Ok, turn of this video, play FPS games, preferably strive up to pro lvl on CS, then return a few month from now and continue watching. The idea is to show how to play and survive even if youre a terrible shot. =)

Anyone having trouble skinning people?
Millenbauer replied to Judas666's topic in New Player Discussion
Maybe Hannibal Lecter has a book on the subject? Start at the torso and work your way down? -
Well, i know for a fact that the compass isnt working at the moment, even if its pristine it shows the wrong direction. An easy way to loose your direction is if you press Alt to look around then release it your character takes a slightly different direction. Best way to keep a straight line is that you try and find a solid point in the horizon, a building, tower, mountain or something in the distance in the direction you want to go and keep going until you get there, once there you find a new spot to follow etc.

First 100 minutes of Gameplay

Try this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewRBaRD2By0 made a guide for new players. I mention most of the basics of the game. I havent done a graphic settings guide however because it depends alot on your machine and personal preferences. But i recomend you try different settings until you are satisfied, there are some simple settings you should try right away tho like removing clouds and removing bloom. -
We had a hallarious encounter in DayZ the mod, a friend and i spawned in as two black toons. We geared up with semi uniforms, barays and AK´s. Then we agreed on the next player we find, we are going to act out as African militia and have a little fun. After a while, between Cherno and Balota a fresh spawn runs by, and my friend goes like: Ehey yoo whitheyboooy... come here! We hear a squeaky voice go like... "hi guys". So i run up and start talking jibberish in a dark typical african voice: Borodi makudi awhaey mubundi? Guy goes like: What? I start skreaming: AWHAEY MUBUNDI!? and fire a few shots with the AK next to him. He gets all paniked and yells "i dont understand". WHAT DO YOU WANT!! I go: Kewali burundi... Guy: What!? me: BURUNDI MATHAFACK!!! and i start shooting in the air Guy sounds realy stressed goes like OK OK Please dont shoot me!! BURUNDI!!!!! and we start firing around him... guy goes like hyper squeak: Fuck!!!! and runs off. XD We let him live ofcourse. I wish i had fraped it all, realy hard to type and capture the scene but belive me it was hallarious. Still to this day i wonder if he thought he had encountered two African militia guys playing DayZ in their spare time...

Id say the "best" gear would be a scoped Mosin, and a AK74u with two mags/MP5 with two mags as a CQC sidearm so you can fight well at 1m to 800 meters. Keep the sidearm in a large capacity vest. A rangefinder, a selfmade backpack to couver your profile while prone. Or ghilie/smersh vest combo. Green combat boots, with a combat knife in them. Boonie hat that holds a fishing hook. Green sprayed fire axe as melee/utility weapon. Two protective cases, one that holds matches, Compass, map, can opener. The other to hold reserve mags. One ammo box for all the ammo you need. A first aid bag that holds 1 bandage, two pens, one seline bag ready to use. Two water bottles (military variant that holds more water then the usual pet bottles). Rest of the slots you keep cans of food. Clothes, id recomend a full gorka uniform, pants and jacket. A green balaklava.

Hi there fellow survivors! My name is Chris, been playing DayZ sience the mod and now im only playing DayZ standalone. Love the game and other survival shooters in general. I try to be a "goodguy" ingame but if i dont trust someone i shoot and forget. I have a very good track record, ive died a handfull of times but survived over hundreds of firefights. My friends know i am extreamly lucky in games rather then skill having anything to do with it, i often get broken limbs, crawl out with 10% blood, wake up from beeing unconsious thru firefights etc. Im generally intrested in helping and playing with new people, however i tend to help from afar before i come to close... ;) http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198085373981

Here´s an easy guide to find out where you are and how to navigate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewRBaRD2By0

Hello fellow survivors! I have started a letsplay DayZ Standalone guide series, for people new to the game and to some extent people who are allready playing. But unlike other guides out there im going to record as im actually progressing from nothing to hopefully attain some endgame gear, and start PvPing. Audio and gameplay is recorded live, so anything can happen at any time as to follow the spirit of the game. Hope you guys find something usefull!
