What about a Wiki to centralize information about gameplay like basic survival skills, interface, available weapons, how tents and vehicle repairs work etc. etc. There is lots of info scattered around the forums, a Wiki would be a great way to centralize it. You could even pick a few editors in the beginning and allow only those people to create/edit the wiki.

Server side upgrade = birds?

I had it a few days ago at one of the EU servers. -

Include server name in debug monitor.

Good idea /signed -
Hopefully people who accidentally pick up "cheated" items from killed survivors won't be banned as well though. Otherwise there should be some kind of appeal system if there are going to be false positives like that.

Forums seem to be quick as hell right now, I don't know if they changed something, but if they did, THANKS! :) -
Extremely slow website is in dire need of a new host.
[email protected] replied to daedrick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, the website/forum has been slow on and off since I registered. It almost seems like it is run from the same box as the character database. Would be nice if it is moved to a separate server or shared hosting account for website only (if it isn't already). The # of visitors shouldn't slow down the website this much, otherwise we would see too many connections on MySQL etc (I presume), so that's what makes me think that it runs on the same box. But what do I know :s -
This is questionable on that sheet though: Uhmmm, really?

Usually an official wiki is hosted on the official domain, just like the BIS wiki: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Main_Page Something like that would suit DayZ as well imo :)

We're gunna need a bigger boat...

Right now it's not very clear it's in alpha version if you go to the main website. There is only a red alpha logo in the header, the introduction text doesn't say anything about alpha version. Maybe make some kind of info/announcement text box above the intro text with different color and a text explaining the current state of the mod etc. :) -
And I was happy with 3 water bottles..... :P

Yes, it's crazy. I think we can all understand that it will take some time to accommodate the high interest for this mod. Good luck with it :)

IF this was an actual game...
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
- Game purchase only (no micro transactions or monthly fee) - Studio developed (with some community interaction) - Kickstarter (with enough info on planned features & stuff like that!) - Both studio and community servers (I think). Unless you really want to have the bandits aspect as core gameplay which probably means only official servers instead of possible community/clan servers with friends only.
