They could add a log out sound and not a log in sound. I would make the sound play only when they successfully log out so you don't hear the sound and instantly try rush the logging out player, While it wont prevent ghost log outs it would reduce the chance of people using the sound to gain an in game advantage. It would provide warning that someone has logged out nearby and you could prepare for someone to ghost you rather than only preparing for players who are legitimately entering an area. It still allows players to still log in unnoticed so ghosting could occur but it would at least give you warning. Could also make your character get linked to the server for 10-15mins when you first log in. This means that if you play on that server for 10-15minutes you will have no trouble changing server but if you want to change server, change location then log back into the original server for tactical advantages you will be inconvenienced. It would also make people play properly rather than just server hop as fast as possible. I don't mind people server hopping but when its for one specific helicrash or one building that seems a bit cheap. I mean if you just server hop one place as quickly as possible to check for good items then the game might as well flood every building with items so at least its intentional

If anything the development seems to be speeding up. They seem pretty determined to finish the game and I'm loving all the improvements. This is my favourite game, I have fun pretty much every time I play it. I would gladly buy this game again.

Isn't the sound part of the survival experience/difficulty because it's something to distract you

You probably already tried it but try pressing V or even try laying down and crawl your way out. Sometimes when you get stuck you can press V and log out quickly or yank out the internet cord then relog and find that you have escaped.

I was hoping they would add the ability to check servers with the new UI, Especially since I found this acknowledged on the feedback tracker How ever currently there is no quick way to check and there probably wont be for awhile

There is an entire thread dedicated to 0.54 issues. Personally I had issues and then I removed all my launch parameters and had different issues. -noPause -malloc=system Once I added these two launch parameters back my game became perfectly playable and I haven't experienced any further issues. I am on Win 7 x64.

The server is gone. I know it sucks but it is gone.

Pretty sure 1920x1020 is 16:9 and he looks extra skinny because you are used to seeing a short chubby guy.

I saw a deer doing donuts at Vybor, I watched it for a few minutes. Also did you know deer run when you try run them over in a V3S? Fun times.

There's a canteen in the pants but I ran out of room for food. Once my friend collects the scope and clip for the M4 I will have the room but it's more likely that I will fill it with more ammo. Wouldn't want to get caught in a fire fight and have to load bullets into a clip that's dangerous. I need to make sure I have enough bullets in clips to commit genocide on all the surviving humans, You know.... for... uhhh safety reasons.... Also I could come across a friendly traveler who challenges me to a sustained fire contest or a really strong deer, I'm going to be ready just you wait....

With nothing in my launch parameters my game freezes up entirely and crashes. With this in my launch parameters I have been playing fine and enjoying this patch. -noPause -malloc=system

They have just implemented weight values on items as part of the beginning stages of the stamina system, Wait a few more patches.

I removed all my steam launch options except -nosplash -malloc=system This fixed the issue for me

I used to get fully geared then take what ever I could carry to the coast and give it away to fresh spawns. I would offer people food and guns for no apparent reason other than to share and be nice. Since coming onto these forums and reading posts like this I have started to KOS most people and I don't feel an ounce of remorse, Want to know why? I would support a small timer which has to fully countdown before you can hit respawn. I would also support the idea of more non lethal weapons such as pepper spray so we can take hostages without having to shoot them with bullets to make them comply. And a megaphone so we can scream out bandit demands from a distance.

Maybe installing the new driver enabled some annoying power saving features. Assuming you use win 7 1.) Go into control panel Or click on the task menu and write Power Options into the search. Open Power options Click change plan settings Click change advanced power settings Scroll down to PCI Express Click the + then Click the + to also expand Link State Power Management Set Link State Power Management setting: Off You should also probably change Processor Power Management if you haven't already. Change Maximum Processor State to 100% Change System cooling policy to active 2.) Open Nvidia control panel by right clicking your desktop or search for it. Use the boost key while driving I think the default is shift, It uses more gas but it also makes the V3s drive faster. Momentum is your friend, You need to get momentum before the hill.... Just like real life if you try and take off on a hill you will go much slower than if you went full speed for a km before the hill.

Today I walked towards a V3S, My character brushed past the front as I was on my way to the drivers door.... You are dead It didn't warn me, It didn't interact with me at all, It just reached out and took my character with his full ghillies suit away..... I feel your pain

Last patch seemed to add more zombies and now when one gets angry at you other zombies show up as well.

In one day me and my friends went from freshie to fully geared. I had full gorka until I made my ghillies suit so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with gorka spawns. All on public not private too.

Dayz Launch Parameters Replace <number> with a physical number Eg: -maxmem=2048 -maxMem=<number>-maxVRAM=<number>-cpuCount=<number>-exThreads=<number>-malloc=system-noPause-window NVIDIA Only If you have a nvidia graphics card I have some changes that may or may not improve your performance without making the game look like ass (At least for me). Open Nvidia control panel by either right clicking your desktop and selecting it or go into windows control panel or type it into the windows search. Expand 3D settings if it isn't already. Select Manage 3D settings. Then click on the program settings tab and select dayz as the program. I will make the setting you change bold and a description of whether you skip or do this step in italics. Maximum pre-rendered frames - change this to 1,2 or 3 depending on how good your cpu is. 1 is for weaker cpu If you have an I7 or some other beefy intel cpu you can probably skip this step.How ever if your CPU is struggling and your dayz freezes up when you reach big towns you may want to change this. Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration - change this to single display performance If you use only one screen you will want to change this from default. Power management mode - change this to Prefer maximum performance. Even if you have an amazing pc you will want to change this because screw power savings. Shader cache - On If your hard drive isn't completely full you will probably want to turn this on but I haven't honestly tried it turned off. Texture filtering - Anisotropic same optimization - On if it doesn't shimmer, Off if it makes your game look like everything is shiny. This is something to individually test as it apparently improves performance, However it can cause shimmering so turn it off if your computer displays walls as shimmering objects. Texture filtering - Quality - High performance. This is something to test for yourself as I personally noticed no quality difference. Texture filtering - Trilnear optimization - On I set this to on and noticed no loss of quality but it apparently improves performance. Threaded optimization - On Turn this on because I don't see why you would want it off unless you some how have a single core processor. I was going to go through the cfg file and explain the launch parameters but I've run out of time and have to go out, I will come back and finish this sometime but I'm not sure when that will be.
