    Why even persist?

On a personal note I think DayZ really needs a working persistence, and I'm looking forward to see it working even though that might take a while. The whole idea of everybody rushing for loot after server restart is somewhat gamebreaking in my eyes, as well as frequent server resets.
  2. Beeing hunted is always a rush, and yet, the key to win is to keep cool. :) Like your first encounter when you didn't get the right gun out (shovel guy) when you needed to switch to the makarov, you kept pressing 5 and even said five, though the gun is in slot #6 ;) And the feet hurt is due to your shoes beeing ruined (or missing).

Who still uses Mosin (+LRS) for range kills?!

I find don't find the sway to be that bad. Just, as stated earlier, make sure there are no phantom fracture's, that your calm and not panting, preferebly prone but standing or crouched can work in situations where needed and last make sure to hold your breath properly. I've had quite a few 700-800m kills in the last couple of patches on my sniper avatar Vasily :)

    Netting..... rare or common

Yes, netting seems very common at this time, and as stated earlier getting all the burlap sacks seems to be the time consuming part of it. But I also feel it could be a bit more rare/harder to get a ghillie. As to how I'm not sure, perhaps it could require more components, such as the need for a new item, maybe string. Perhaps one would need to have both string, sewing kit (wich I think are way to common btw) and perhaps scissors (as example, I'm not sure exactly what but something to make it harder to aquire a full ghillie)? At least make it harder to get, and preferebly not by increasing the amount of something needed, 10x burlap sacks is even a bit much imo, as it results in a grinding/hoarding of particular item, wich I'm against in most ways. With the current situation I wouldn't be surprised if burlap sacks becomes the in-game currency :D Cause surely they seem to be looted everywhere like never before.

    Need help any appreciated

They physical size of the monitor have no impact on the game performance, only the resolution used at said monitor (and well ofc what settings in terms of quality you use ingame). But same setting in same resolution gives the same framrate, be it on a 22" or a 55" monitor (though there can be other factors when using a TV display for gaming, such as input lag etc). So it would have to do with some settings that are outside of the game (asuming you haven't changed your in-game resolution). Mainly I'd focus on making sure the TV is properly set up on the computer as a monitor and not something like "TV output" or the like, as there could pop up a differance of variety's depening on monitor, graphiccard, drivers, choice of connection and so on.
  6. Check this thread: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/217405-shaking-like-crazy-cant-stop/ On top of that, if you perhaps could try get your hand on a thermometer? I've had this happen on 4 different characters now, and managed to fix it on three of them. I spent alot of time at the fire, at least an hour, to no success. I then went to find a thermometer, with that I managed to find out I really was unable to change my characters temperature. I tried of 2 hours heating up (fire, heatpack, animal guts, warmest clothing) or cooling down (naked, swimming, naked in the rain etc). And no matter what my temperature was 35C and not changing. With all other chars I did see the temperature go up, and shaking stopping at some number wich I can't remember, think it was 35.5C (but could have been higher), but at least there around. One small theory from my side is server lag somehow preventing temperature increase to register (dunno how that would happen, but still). As this was on a private hive, wich is pretty much always full and quite laggy. Crafting splints, skinning boar and other tasks many times takes several attempts to success. Where as the other characters that had the problem was on more "fluid" servers with alot less problems. So, as a last resort before you respawn the char you could try log in to a low pop, low ping server and try heating up, preferebly checking temperature with a thermometer, to know if it really is bugged or not. Same character also had problems with beeing wet, and displayed beeing wet, allthough all pieces of clothing was actually dry. Wet/Soaked status seem alot harder to shake in .52. So I've resorted to raincoats and wellies for now. Wellies allowing you to drink in ponds and walk wetlands without getting the annoying soaked status.

    Ghille suit -paint issue?

I'm not sure as I haven't tried it myself, however seen a friend having the same problem. It appears to be a bug that you are unable to pain the full ghillie at the moment. Someone else coudl perhaps confirm.

    Right click shaking since 0.52?

I'd take a guess that your suloution could be found in this thread: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/217405-shaking-like-crazy-cant-stop/
  9. The full ghillie is actually in now with .52 patch, 10 burlap strips and 4 netting iirc.

    shaking like crazy, cant stop

Tonight I went on to deal with shaking character #2. Results are interesting: There is clearly at least two lvls of shaking, a mild shaking, where its still very possible to aim and get stuff done, but for, lets call it stage two, shaking really is quite severe. Using anything with scope is pretty much out of the question and hitting anything beyond 50-100m would be pure luck. This character was clearly "stage two" shivering. Made a fire and started the timer, thought I'd try it outside this time, but in shelter from rain under a tree. Didn't use any other medications (such as antibiotics, painkillers, heatpacks etc), only 1 campfire. Firstly I took me a good while to get all the clothing dry, think they we're all dried out at 7-10min mark, but after that it was a wait, and a long one at that. At around 37-38min mark I got back down to "stage one" shivers, pretty much around there the campfire actually went out as well. Had to make a new one, and around 10min later, so roughly 50min mark my character finally stopped shaking. No visible shakes in the LRS scope at all, but if you look at your character in 1st person you can still see him shaking, perhaps that goes away after a relogg, have yet to test that out. So, first character took around 15 min, second character around 45-50min, wish I'd had a thermometer to check temperature progress but was unable to loot one up at the time, did search for quite a while with both chars but no luck. Difference between the two: Character one in additon to the campfire used a heatpack (wich wore out before I got rid of the shivers), he also popped painkillers, antibiotics, splints and morphine and was sitting indoors in a barn. I'm guessing the current body "starting" temperature could have been different, as well as server temperature, it still is quite a differance. I'm guessing heatpack could have played a difference as well. So still no real hard facts on how to deal with it the best/fastest, no more then that its possible to deal with. For other notes I'd be VERY VERY careful in .52 to not let my character reach "freezing" cause I think both of mine did here, simply cause its rather timeconsuming and a little pain in the ass to deal with. Not to mention you're also quite vulnerable in "stage two shivers" having a hard time shooting anything. And beeing wet seems to take a long time to deal with as well in its path on boosting you into freezing shaking stages. I always rocked the TTsKO jacket for the camo, but in this patch I think I'm switching to green raincoat/Gorka, or just camp out in a barn.... we'll see

    shaking like crazy, cant stop

Can sort of confirm this, had it happening on two characters as of now, like you as was getting close to go with the option of drop gear, suicide, pickup. I went into a barn made a fire and thougth I'd give it a real go for times you mentioned and behold, it worked. I did take the time, sadly I didn't check the shaking/timer until it was closing in on 15min mark. But one check at around 14 min and the shaking was drasticly reduced. Mostly just visible in the LRS, and slightly after 15min it was gone. I did pop splints, antibiotics, painkillers etc, but I'm fairly sure it only got to do with the fire. I'm gonna re-test this later tonight on another char that's also shaking, using only campfire. Worth noting also as stated earlier in the thread, the only message I got sitting at the fire was "I'm warming up", I wasn't cold, or had any other warnings going on, was fully energized, hydrated and healthy all the time.

    Stable Branch - 0.52 Discussion

Played a couple of hours after the servers finally came online, both private and public. Perhaps I've had a lucky streak but no problems with lost session/disconnect/kick at all. Most things felt quite fluid, don't know if its just my mind, they case of fresh server start or something but things in general felt a bit more fluid then .50/.51. On my brief tour I noticed a few things: - Airfield hangars spawn ammo, and quite alot of it. - The, at least for me, in .50 and .51 rather elusive 7.62x39 ammo for SKS/AKM now seem to be plentiful, and by far most common ammo in military locations. A lootrun spanning Zelenegorsk - central base - NWAF with tents had probably netted me around 30-40 boxes at least if not more had I'd bother picking all of it up/count it properly. Felt like ammo in general have seen a increase and maybe guns decrese, but would need more playtime to get a definitive grip on that. - PU and LRS worked as binoculars, however something seemd wrong with panning the LRS up and down, no problems sideways, perhaps someone else could test that out as well. - Found a NATO silencer under Zelengorsk christmas tree, however no weapon to try it out atm, so can't really comment on the use/if its working properly. - Do one need to eat/drink even more in .52? Could be my tired mind playing tricks on me but felt a bit like it. On a fail side of things I was unable to skin a boar in my quest to make a backpack, perhaps it was just a random one time glitch/bug gonna try again next boar I find to try and confirm. As for characters, all mine are still as I left them in .51, no problem with any of them (public 1st, public 3pp and 5x private). Though I didn't not attempt to play during the DDOS attack, so I'm guessing everything is fine for anyone who didn't. - Petrol cans seem to spawn more frequently as well, now I can't remember where it was I saw one, just that I was pretty sure they didn't spawn in that location in .51. So perhaps easier to get hold of now as well. All I managed to scramble in the short little .52 tour, hopefully getting a more proper gamenight tonight, DDOS free B) EDIT: Oh, and a thumbs up to devs, Hicks and Horton actually supplying quite frequent updates on whats going with the problems last night, that they were working on the DDOS attack and keeping ppl posted (even though quite alot of ppl seemed to miss it over here... :P).
