Come on man, stay with the times, they never announced removing the semi circle and sway and especially the dispersion until it was announced in status report after stress test. I am not talking about the 63 engine change as a whole. You should slowly re-read my post. Also, if you don't want to use reddit then, there are plenty of posts here about it. Would you like me to link a couple?

As I have said many times, I absolutely love(d?) this game. There is no other game like it nor can come even close to it, but I don't agree with the combat changes in 63, just as most of the community doesn't as well. There have been quite a few posts on Reddit in the last few days surrounding the new combat mechanic changes in .63. I have been keeping an eye on them and just as I have seen since 63 was released, it seems that 95%+ of the community hates the new changes and would like to go back to the old system. I am included in that. The new combat change complete blows. It is just terrible. As many others have expressed, there was nothing wrong with the old system and it didn't need a complete overhaul which then just introduced a ton of other bugs and problems further delaying the game development. Below are links to Reddit posts talking about this just in the last few days: https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/8yl7i5/63_it_appears_that_when_being_hit_by_zombies/ https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/8ysqwh/is_there_any_change_in_way_a_peter_thinks_about/ https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/8yxbq5/dayz_063_experimental_ads_v_hip_fire/ https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/8yvczc/do_you_notice_the_difference_between_gunfights_in/ https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/8zpfjd/i_dont_get_it_how_the_devs_didnt_mention_anywhere/ So it appears that a very large majority of the community doesn't like the changes. Definitely a much larger part appears to not like it vs like it. And it has been a couple of months since this change was introduced and even then, a lot of backlash was received because of it. The large majority of players agree that a change wasn't needed. I'm not here to bash the game or the devs, but this needs to be addressed. Most of the community also disagree with the explanation that Peter gave on Reddit for this change not long after 63 first hit stress test. It's like the devs don't care what the community thinks about the change or how the community wants the game to play in regards to the combat mechanics change in 63. So my question to the Devs is this. Why are you going forward with a SUPER, MAJOR game play change that was never publicly announced before releasing (purposely because you knew the backlash it would have, even though you pre-announced every other minor game play change) when the vast majority of the entire community (that has supported you for many, many years and made this game and the new engine possible) doesn't like the change and also agrees that the change was never needed and want to go back to the old combat system in .62?

This is meant to be a HARDCORE SURVIVAL SIMULATOR!!!! You should be on the brink of starving a good bit, it should be harsh and hard to survive in this desolate wasteland. That is DayZ. If that is not what you like, then DayZ isn't your game, sorry but that is fact. Folks who ACTUALLY like DayZ want the hardcore survival simulator. Perhaps a less hardcore and less harsh survival game is in store for these type people.

Well said!!!

I am perfectly fine for modders to turn dayz into pubg. What I am NOT OK with, is the BI DEVS listening to the community that wants Dayz to turn into Pubg, and then the BI DEVS make Dayz = Pubg, no mods needed. Which I know it won't be that drastic as their will still be plenty of survival elements etc. I am just EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with the change in combat mechanics in .63. Just as other have said, this flies in the face of their previous design decisions. And again, it all but solidifies that this was done to make the console port easier. If this stays, I am done with DayZ and BI. You don't turn your back on the community that has supported you for years, just to sell some console copies.

That sway is what made combat mechanics in Dayz different than any other game. It also required skill to master so 10 year old COD players can't just come in and know how to play it. That is the trade off for running, not being able to aim well. That is what makes Dayz, the choices you make sometimes have dire consequences. But you say that is "a little over the top" Hell let's just take stamina out, because it is "a little over the top." Let's stop hunger and thirst because it is "a little over the top." Let's add a ton of other stuff to "a little over the top too" and just make this a PUBG clone!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! exactly what the gaming community needs, another PUBG.

I 100000000000000000000000000% agree. I have been playing this game since February 2014 and followed this game VERY, VERY, VERY closely ever since. I have been gaming since the early/mid 80's and I have NEVER had a game that is like DAYZ in all these years. This game is (was?) so fn amazing. I know I'm an old fart compared to you 20 somethings and teenagers, but there is no game that I get the enjoyment and excitement from that DayZ gives. I thought the old combat system was rough around the edges but amazing, especially given things like the weapon sway after a long run and trying to get that floating crosshair right on target to shoot, etc. With the floating half circle crosshair, it required great skill to master and wasn't just a PUBG/COD clone that is just like every single other shooter. Dayz was WAAAAY different and challenging. Which is one of the things I love about it so much. However, the combat changes in .63 are incredibly fail imo and align it more with a PUBG/COD clone (speaking combat mechanics only, not survival aspect, etc.) Why are we changing the way the bullet leaves the gun? Why don't we have a floating cursor anymore? I don't understand why these changes would be made aside from the fact that the new console port won't allow the old system with the controllers on console. Yes, I have read the entire status report, read all of twitter replies to Peter, read the entire Reddit thread about Peters response and the community response. I sill believe this change was to make it super easy to port to console. I want the floating crosshair back, the ADS fixed, and the bullets to NO LONGER GO TO THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN!!!!! This is the dumbest decision you could have ever made for this game. And I am 98% sure it was done for consoles so that you could just easily port it over, but you will NEVER EVER admit that cash grab is the reason for this. DEVS: You all made this major design decision without involving the community or asking us about it. No mention of it in the status reports, you just did it. (this furthermore solidifies that you did it for consoles and refused to tell us about it in SR's because you didn't want the backlash and so could make 1 copy of the game to then port to console instead of making a PC version, then a console version with 2 completely different shooting mechanics) The PC community made DayZ what it is today, give the PC community what it wants and bring back at least the floating crosshair, the ADS fix, and the bullets leaving the gun and going to center of screen. Between all the platforms, including Reddit, that is what your PC community wants overall. I have been reviewing them since the SR was posted on Tuesday. Again, I love this game and its amazingness, but if you screw the PC community with this shit shooting mechanics change, I will never, ever spend a penny on a BI game ever again. If you have to make 2 version of the game, 1 for PC and 1 for console, fine with me. Do it. But don't screw over the PC community who have supported you for YEARS, just for the console cash grab of making 1 game with shit shooting mechanics for PC just because it make it extremely easy to port it to console. Don't sellout your PC crowd just to make an easy money grab for console. Make 2 games if you have to. DON'T FORGET, THE PC PLAYERS LIKE ME GAVE YOU OUR MONEY A LONG ASS TIME AGO (OVER 4 YEARS AGO) AND WE DON'T WANT THE COMBAT MECHANICS TO TURN TO SHIT!!!!! I know it is easy to say screw that, we need to grab millions from console now since we already got our PC money, but that will be a very bad mistake for you as a company. I can give you tons of reasons why a lot of the community wants things like the bullet not going to center of screen anymore, but there are TONS of examples in the Reddit post that Peter made if you want to go there and read them.

Ah, I wasn't aware there was a follow up video to that. I will have to look that up.

Thanks for taking the time to make this guide tatanko. But are you saying that the old bone stat video by wobo quite a while ago is now wrong and the bone state definitely does regen now? His tests in his video proved they didn't regen. Did you perform these same tests to ensure it does regen?

@Hicks_206 (DayZ) I haven't seen any postings or issues about this. Curious if the development team is aware. Since .61 exp, all game sounds (except voip) are about 25-35% lower than they were in .60. It is like all the sounds in the game were lowered by that amount for .61. Is this intended and is it going to stay that way or are you guys even aware of this issue? I have seen nothing mentioned by you in any of the .61 exp forum posts.
-
I did read it, multiple times. Still says nothing about what I was referencing. Wasting your time??? You sure you aren't supposed to be on the subreddit instead of the forums with your entitled attitude???? Please oh great entitled one, quote the OP where it references what I was talking about. If you are talking about this: Some issues noticed with sounds being played to all players within the network bubble radius Then you are wrong. That is completely different than what I am talking about.
-
I did and do. However nothing in the OP says anything about what I said as the overall volume of every sound in the game being lower than what it was on .60. Including ambient sounds. Please read the OP again before posting. Also, please read a users post thoroughly before replying to their post. I ask again, does anyone know if this has been submitted to the tracker?
-
Nice to know. I have read through all the .61 threads since 61 started but didn't remember reading it. Can you or anyone else confirm if it has been submitted to the feedback tracker?
-
I believe exp is mainly for testing the new items/enhancements to the game itself. So that bugs for those enhancements can be found and reported. Its main function is not to be used for PVP.
-
Curious if anyone else has noticed this. Since the beginning of .61 exp, the overall game sounds as a whole are not as loud as they are on .60 (except for voip). It's like the entire sound for the whole game was turned down about 25%. Has anyone else noticed this?
