Hello, everyone and Happy New Year Will basebuilding allow us to form barriers for doorways that don't have working doors? I ask because for example, there are those really tall apartment buildings that don't have working doors. They just have open doors that you can't interact with at all. It would be nice to be able to board up those kind of apartments. I'm worried that if basebuilding is coded to where you can only reinforce working doors, and we can't just build our own barriers on any flat surface.... then we are pretty fucked and won't be able to use half of the buildings.

On the opposite side of the spectrum the funniest shit I've experienced in Dayz is when 4 of my buddies and I who were well armed found a lone wolf who had a pristine press vest, (this is like 5 updates ago). The guy just stopped in his tracks and said to us... oh shit...... and I said on the voice... "my friends want your press vest, we'll be taking that". He didn't cooperate either but was promptly shot in the head. I feel bad but I've never seen a press vest on the ground to pick up.

Do you mean best firearm or melee combat weapon or do you just mean best of any kind of weapon? Because if you mean what is the best of any kind of weapon, well hands down it's the ESP hack, no questions asked. Followed secondly by the speed hack. But if you mean what is the best firearm weapon, then I think it's the repeater right now in terms of easyness of finding ammo for it and decent stopping power and firing rate. The other weapons are great but hard to find ammo for them.

Why would it piss you off? One guy who thinks the updates should stop zombies from going through doors or fix the controls, etc.... and is not excited about a new welding mask or chainsaw. It really shouldn't bother you personally. Anyways, Merry Christmas. I enjoy Dayz, but just have not seen anything impressive yet. I'm not sure why some people think the updates are impressive yet. When zombies work correctly, when controls are tighter then Jessica Alba's ass, when all the important stuff is addressed at all which in My opinion has not, then I'll be excited and impressed. Sorry if I was sarcastic about how I thanked the Devs for adding fireplaces, welding masks, and chainsaws.

I think it's cool there is a chainsaw but if the game doesn't show dismemberment or not even specific blood stains where you land the blows, then what fun is the chainsaw going to be?

I don't really know what you mean. Are you deciding which DayZ fans can no longer play Dayz or participate on the forums? You know it's possible to actually have a conversation with someone even if they don't agree exactly with what you think.

Half of the servers I join have zero loot in them. I mean literally zero loot at all. The game is not really crashed because you can open doors and there are zombies, just zero loot at all. Is this a known break from the last patch? If so, did this not happen at all on experimental before the pushed this to stable? Is there a way to filter out servers that have the broken zero loot problem I'm seeing?

To me the really annoying thing is that even if you use the "slow walk" speed when you approach a zombie from behind, they still freaking hear you when you are like 12 feet away. It's so annoying how broken they still are. I also love how when I ran into the police station when I first loaded the new patch two zombies followed me and both of them walked right through the fucking door on the roof of the police station. I'm so sick of these patches that fix nothing that matters.

Where do we report scum bag rule breakers who kick you as soon as you join their server? One named Ybor Battalion just did that to me.

So you are saying only the GSP's have rules? You are telling me that Bohemia can't tell the GSP's what is allowed in order to host a Dayz game? Perhaps I'm missing something here. Because if it's only up to the GSP's, then hacking is allowed if the GSP's allow it.

This is fucking ridiculous. Now I just got kicked off of the next fucking server I tried. This one said "SKS" in the name and in the game they spam (brotherhood or nothing). So to recap... I've been fucking kicked from the last 4 fucking servers I've fucking tried. Bohemia, please don't be cheap and make people rent servers, it invites abuse.

But I think you misunderstood me. When I say no loot, I mean not a single item at all, even in the 30 or so storage rooms near Cherno. Or am I mistaken that persistance means every now and then, new items should spawn, no? Not a pair of gloves, or a damaged or rotten piece of fruit. The game is broken because shouldn't there be some item at all? There was not a single item you could pick up anywhere. Is that the way Persistance is supposed to work?

What? Here is my theory... Because loot is broken on half of the servers, people are more desperate to get loot. So server owners are kicking players so they can try to grab loot. I just got kicked again on another server. I forgot the name on that one. They let me play for about 1 minute then kicked me. Why the fuck would they get rid of the rule now when people are more desperate for loot due to the broken loot? We are getting kicked like never before.

I did read that, but also, the experts say that if they just have 3 layers or networking, and buy a extra bandwidth to anticipate it, ( you know, like with the freaking 60 million dollars they have).... DDOS attacks would fail and not work.

What the hell? Again for the second time? I've been playing online games since 1999 and I've never once seen a hugely popular game be taken down because of hackers. I've seen crashes and maintenance issues, but why is only DayZ so easily fucked with by hackers? Who is in charge of network security and how much is their budget for it?

That's nothing. I just lost a fully geared character from just spawing into a serve with 3 damn people on it.

Awesome. So now you can hear all the sound glitches in fully surround sound! Just kidding, congrats man. Even with the bad sound problems this game has, it's still fun.

Good God. I appreciate this everyone I certainly got a fantastically detailed reason and answer to what is happening. I really appreciate it. But now I'm wondering why they are trying to fix such high number of problems with the current zombies and the game when it sounds easier that they should just start with a whole new engine and zombie architecture. I think it would be less work!

LOL You might get the thread locked up or deleted with that evidence of hacking but wow, that is funny. Is it possible it's a glitch and not a hack?

You have 1000 posts yet you don't know enough to realize many of the "upcoming" patch notes are often full of empty promises? How much money do you want to bet that zombies will still be going through some doors and wall and hitting our empty hit boxes from 20 feet away in patch .54? Please share with us your evidence that all of a sudden, within 2 more patches, that the clunky netcode and broken zombies will be tuned enough to be much better. I really wish I was wrong and I appreciate your positiveness and advice. I have fun playing the game and am not mad at the whole game, I'm just mad at the zombies and netcode/controls. I really hope you are correct that in 2 or 3 more patches we will notice a difference. Can you post a link to the evidence you have that suggests the gameplay will be noticeably better? Because I haven't notice any better gameplay since they added some pathing to the zombies way back in September.

I freaking wish this would happen to me. I'm sick of ruined gear because of glitched out zombies who can hit me from outside a building due to the willy wonka Dayz netcode.
