Why not? Why not allow the .50 cal during Alpha and then at launch of the finished game then remove. My reasoning is that even a .50 cal is not as effective as esp, aimbot, or teleporting so there is no logic to avoid the .50 cal because it would be unfair. Until esp, aimbot and teleporting is impossible on a public server, there should be no weapon that is off limits. Otherwise, all the legitimate players are the only ones with no good weapons. Maybe a serious weapon will help even the playing field for a little fun. Then remove the crazy guns at launch of the official game when the new engine works.

Hi everyone. Im not sure what is wrong but several times on servers were I have a low ping I will run upstairs into a building from a zombie who was behind me and yet Im getting hit even though I dont see the zombie anymore. Is the zombie stuck in the stairs perhaps or is the bitch hitting me from 20 feet away outside the damn building? Im getting sick of ruined gear from willy wonka Dayz physics. How do people avoid these major issues ? Is there any discussion of removing them until they work half way decent? -

Why is such a drastic increase in enterable buildings considered a good thing?

.... because adding stationary objects into the game is a hell of a lot easier and cheaper than fixing the controls, networking code, ballistics, animations, hacking...... I mean, let's get real here. What better way to show progress than keeping a zombie from flying through doors and walls..... God forbid we get that done. That being said.... I actually like the fact that you can find many buildings and enter them. I think that is more realistic. Also, I don't agree that just because there are lots of hiding places that people will only hide. Most people get bored and want PVP, even if they ever add more zombies. In short, this game has much more serious problems with it than too many buildings that you can enter. That's like last of a list of 1,000. If you want player interaction, you can get it within minutes on a full server. You are telling me that you can't get shot at if you wanted to within 5 minutes on a full server? I can find players easily in almost any major city, maybe not the smaller interior cities, but my God, you will get plenty of action in the big cities. -
Fix these two easy/small things and the game will be amazing

The game would be so much less frustrating and more fun to play if these simply addressed these two problems that are just sloppy in my opinion. 1.At one point of Alpha or Beta will we finally address the fact that if your character is standing still and we start to pull out an axe, your character cannot move at all if we hit the walking buttons. In real life you can easily start moving your legs even though you are also using your arms to pull out an axe. Why is the game refusing to address this yet? 2. At what point will they address the fact that for months and months now, we have dealt with the bug that a zombie who just touches you once, can somehow break your arm (but without you even knowing it) until you try to use just scoped weapons. (every other weapon will not sway, but scoped weapons magically sway even though your character does not have a broken bone). I don't know how your guy's physique or bone structure and weight is but if a half dead person does a half ass semi-lazy looking and poorly aimed and timed lunge at me......... he or she ain't breaking a single fucking bone on my body. At least not with one of those weak and poorly aimed lunges. I will accept that maybe 3 or 4 of those weak ass and poorly aimed lunges can eventually tweak your shoulder perhaps? But it's a bad glitch that one single weak ass lunge can break our arms, and the game not even tell us our arm is broken. (So if you didn't know, and then you engage in combat, it's too late for you to realize your gun is swaying). If these two simple problems were fixed, the game would be enjoyable and fun. -
Did they remove hacksaws? I have never seen one after searching 3 large cities very thoroughly for the last week or so. I found 25 or 30 each of the following tools, which are much less common in real households.... shit loads of cattle prods. (what the hell? never seen on in real life, but I own 4 different hacksaws in my house and garage) shit loads of sickles.... (what the hell? I've never seen a sickle in real life, ever) Wheat and grain are harvested by machine now, not by hand with a sickle, making them rare relics I would think. shit loads of sledge hammers... (what the hell? households are more likely to have a hacksaw then a large sledgehammer) shit loads of pliers... (this is the only item the devs got right, in real life, pliers are very common) shit loads of hoes.. (again, households are far more likely to have a hacksaw then a hoe, at least where I live) In conclusion, the hacksaw was never found a single time after finding over 200 other kinds of tools. Did they remove hacksaws from .52? And.... have the developers ever thought about real life when they make up the loot tables? It's comically fake right now. And frustrating that I can't find a common tool as a hacksaw.

Ummmm, sorry but last night I twice dropped items on the ground and they disappeared, forever, not just for a minute. Who told you it was fixed? If your inventory is full, and you are holding an item, and if you hit the "x" to dop on the ground...... it's gone forever. This happened serveral times in the last few days so it was not a random glitch. Also, you said "bug fixes". Which bug fixes do you mean have been completed? Also you said persistance has been added. It does not function properly and is thus not persistent. I'm just pointing out some things so that people who have not played the game don't get the idea that any features have really been improved like you make it sound. Because nothings has been improved in my opinion except maybe the variety of tools and items, and the first vehicle is a pretty cool start, but barely functions. It can't even go up a small hill. -

I think one of the things that is going right with this game so far is the variety of items. I like the different tools and weapons, granted... if the newer built engine can handle it we could use a heavy weapon in the future like a mini-gun or a anti-tank rifle. But the loot tables are so bad right now. It appears that they force some items that would be common in real life to be rare.... while allowing other items that would be rare in real life to be common. For example.... what is up with pistol magazines? In 10 days of playing, (about 1.5 hours each day), the only pistol magazines I've found were all for the FXN .45 which the devs have forced to only spawn at helicopters. (making the magazines nearly useless for a casual player). I literally found 5 FXN pistol magazines but not a single magazine for the many different 1911 pistols I've found, nor the many CR-75 pistols I've found. I also never found one single P-1 magazine.... But many FXN.45 magazines...... It's so fake to find pistols without their magazine that it's immersion breaking to me. The Dev's have done a good job of limiting sniping, and I get that. But why make it so hard to have a working pistol? The combat on this badly built engine is so awful that I don't thinky they are limiting KOS any bit by purposely making magazines almost impossible to find. If this is such an early Alpha game, why are they going through so much trouble to limit certain items that frustrate us and break the immersion of the game? -

Actually, this is a great idea. I think if they remove all firearms from the game, hackers will leave DayZ because it will be too boring for 13 year olds with Mommy's credit cards. Let's do it. Let's go completely melee, Chivalry style. -

Ah, Then perhaps everyone I looked people have only picked up the useful magazines and left the FXN .45 clips? I have to admit, I only seach Cherno are which is near the coast. But even the barracks, which has plenty of pistols, have not revealed any useful magazines. May I ask where is a good place to search that is not on the coast? But I still think that people would have picked up the FXN.45 clips I've found if they were there... so my gut tells me that useful clips spawn less. (for rare guns, they spawn more clips) I even found a 30 round MP5 magazine. (A super rare gun, so they allow higher chance of the magazine to spawn I'm thinking) -

Everything is worse with each update. If your bag is full and hit x to drop item on ground it disappears. I just broke my legs standing still on a 2nd story floor. Zombies fly through closed doors after 1 year of development. The hot keys are even less responsive now than months ago. Jesus..... Is this the end of Dayz? -
I know you are just trying to help with the topic, but just a friendly heads up, if you talk about the truth of hacking levels on the game the threads can be deleted by the moderators. So just a warning so we don't make good threads get deleted by the moderators. It sucks we can't discuss true things but, hey, guess that is Alpha shit.

Really? I'm "Fucking Whining"? No, I'm pointing out how terribly broken the spawn tables are. Clearly, they put in a formula or percentage for all kinds of tools that do spawn in all kinds of buildings.... but very little buildings ever have the possibility of a hacksaw compared to every other tool. What part of (200 tools found but not a single hacksaw) didn't you understand? That mathematically proves they didn't put hacksaws in the spawn tables of most buildings like they did with super rare exotic tools like cattle prods and antque sickles. Instead of bitching about me whining, why not for one second think about how dumb and fake the hacksaw loot table is? -

Hello everyone. May I please ask how do you guys hacksaw the MP 133 shotgun? I finally found a hacksaw, it's in damaged condition. But I cannot get the option to saw the shotgun. I tried numerous ways of which item is in what hand. Does the shotgun have to be in your backpack or something? I assumed it can't fit until I saw it of course. Does the hacksaw only cut the other type of shotgun? If so, is this intentional or a bug?

I was very cold and shaking, found a heat pack, activated it...... tried keeping it in the hands but saw no change. Then put it in the backback but also no change. Is there a "use heat pack as a suppository" option that I didn't scroll to?

OK, thanks. I was just wondering if it works at all. I do know how to make fires, just didn't have an axe at the time. I was thinking it was not working at all or broken. But it is confirmed that it gives you a little heat if in pants or jacket? We have gotten a lot of new items that don't function yet, like the welding helmet, so I was thinking the heat packet just doesn't do anything yet either. -
So I'm inside a building way up at the top to sort through my stuff and log out without zombies. Before I did I hear a guy who magically found me... could be ESP hack but I have no way to prove it... Anyways, we are facing each other and he did say "hey buddy..." or something like that. I don't have a weapon pointed at him and worried that it takes too long to use the talk key without threatening him... I think of turning my back to him to show I'm not a threat before I talk to him...... mother fucker shoots me in the back.... what was the point of the guy even talking to me if he shoots me in the back?

What does the ability to report hackers have to do with preventing hackers from simply purchasing a new copy of DayZ and Steam so they can hack again and again... you know, like they have been doing for 2 years of SA and Mod. What a waist of resources to waste time implementing the ability to report when they should be building a game that is difficult to hack in the first place.

You are being misleading. There is no such thing as a silent weapon in DayZ yet because the zombies still aggro for any bow or crossbow, gun, etc.... It's completely broken still. Or am I mistaken? Did they add any silencers that work yet?

How is the outsourced zombie work coming along?

I believe it was at least as long as 10 months ago that it was announced the zombie work/fixing was outsourced to another Slovakian company. Has there been any release of info on how they are coming along? Is there any animations, pictures, or blogs about all that work they have been doing for 10 months looks? I can't imagine that what we see on the current .52 is the achievement of an outsourced 10 month contract. Who exactly is this small team or company that has been working on the infected and what have they presented to the DayZ project leaders? As participants in the Alpha, we would love to help provide feedback on their new ideas. But I have not seen anything new except that they make slightly different stances, but they look and behave exactly the same. (Broken line of sight, broken physics on how they hit you and track you, pretty much completely broken). It really appears as if there was literally one or two days of work done on the zombies. Did the outsourced company get fired 9 months ago because they realized they had to rework the engine so they can't work on them yet? This is understandable if it's the case. I just haven't heard anything about it. -

OK, thank you. I'm very excited about seeing their numbers grow and their improvements. I wish we can give the trucks back and just get many more infected numbers in the game and having them work properly. I'd give my left nutt for that at this point.
