I'm going to wait :) been reading a lot and there appear to be more promising games like this one coming up, h1z1, 7 days to die, survive the nights, rust... I'm gona wait and see which one will eventually win the survival horror zombie game race :)

Hi people I'm new here and seriously considering buying the Dayz SA. I've read some recent reviews, though, that really made me have second thoughts... problems with cheaters ruining the whole experience, bandits just camping around spawn areas, too buggy to be playable, etc. And the biggest problem of all: the slow progress of the game development (unkept promises, missed deadlines, 2 years in alpha stage, ...). This made me remember a game that actually had the exact same premise as this one (zombie infested wasteland, scavenging to survive) and was also relying on crowd funding to develop the game. This game is going nowhere, i think, and i fear the same thing will happen with Dayz. The other one is called 'ReRoll', maybe you've heard of it. Should i be worried?

I will probably be buying the SA version, then :) It's 27.99 on steam now... not much of a discount if you ask me :D My playing style would be the lone wolf, i think... avoiding contact with other people, but acting firm when i encounter another player. I'm probably not going to kill any1, though... at least if they don't give me the incentive to. This is going to be fun ^^ when i get a pc that can run the game decently, that i s -_-

This was almost a year ago, though. Have there been many bug fixes since then?

Thanks for replying :D What do you recommend? Is there a difference in the amount of people playing? In what way are the mechanics different? Sorry if i'm asking too many questions, but i wanna be sure i get enough info before i buy :D

Hi everybody! I would like to apologize in advance if i'm breaking any rules by posting this thread, there's just so much information on these forums, i honestly don't know where to start. I've seen bits and pieces of this game and i'm thrilled by the idea of surviving in a zombie infested wasteland, scavenging whatever i can find. It seems like a real challenge! :D I'm confused, though, as to where i start. I've read that Dayz requires Arma II to play and i've seen it's available for purchase on Steam, so getting that won't be a problem. What do i do next to be able to play Dayz? I've downloaded the mod from this website, so what do i do with it? It appears to be available on Steam aswell, so if i download Arma II from Steam, would it be better to also get the Dayz mod from Steam? I've also seen people talk about 'Dayzlauncher' and 'Dayzcommander' around here (apparently programs required to run the mod, i presume...?). Can any1 explain me or direct me to a place where i can learn about how i run this game, because it seems pretty difficult... (i hope i'm wrong :P) I am a complete noob when it comes to modding, so i kinda need a 'Dayz for dummies guide' =) Big thanks in advance! Cheers.
