    If you leave the 2 trees and the bush up, fire comes from the Hospital to the N, the silos to the E, a small window from the construction site (further E) and pub (SW). Occasionally, someone sneaks into the green house - that's a massacre (:D) - or stands to the NE near the masonry wall. I haven't been sniped while farming in days - I grew pumpkins, zuchs, and eyes in the back of my head. I've never thought about the peach house to the NE - I suppose the windows don't face that way. Don't think I've ever been set upon from there. Also, someone with grenades could do some serious harm.

    It's a private server. So perfect for not giving a damn if you lose everything. Honestly, I think the farming is just the excuse for the PvP. :D We have had some good times this week, charging snipers with ice axes and red 9s. WINTESS ME!!!!!! :D I'm not sure if I'll be on tonight, but there may be a few hanging around the farm anyway - I think it's grown beyond me a bit.

    Fing, today was definitely not representative. I have been farming a plot by the side door of the Cherno PD on the DayZ Colony US-1 server for about a week now. While about 1/2 the people I see are friendly, most are just freshspawns who want a handout and then move along (I've been doing it enough that most know I'm good for a few shotgun or mosin shells, and on my supply runs, I always bring back any guns/ammo I find). Most days, however, its a constant battle fighting snipers in the hospital, silos, or pub. There was a day last week (Thursday) where a core group of 4 defenders defended the farm from 12 different attacks. It's a pain when I, the farmer, die, though; as my rules are generally (i) must go straight back to Cherno, but can loot the first PD passed, any train cars or auto wrecks, and any and all sheds/barns; (ii) must spend all free time farming (so can only loot Cherno -which is usually bone dry - when crops are in the ground; (iii) can never initiate combat, no matter how sketchy someone seems; and (iv) have to share half my stack of whatever ammo I have with anyone who asks. That last rule left me so depleted last week, I had to fight off several attacks with nothing more than an ice axe after both shells in my sawed-off were gone - felt like mad max. Then some darling girl came by and gave me a Mosin with 6 shells and a Gorka helm. Anyway, if you're on that server, come by and enjoy the farm, or try to murder us*. :D The farmer is a black toon usually wearing jeans, long sleeve shirt, a press vest, and zjimova cap. He has a hoe on his back of course. *If you're gonna try to kill me, at least do it properly. Nothing more boring than someone who walk into camp seeming friendly, then shotguns me in the back when I'm planting. Be the guys who put 2 on the hospital and one somewhere E (hill, crane, construction site??): those guys ate my lunch all day Saturday. :D

    So, i'm sure this isn't news to most, but the bow sucks!! Even allowing for sway, consistent target distance and shot timing, it is very difficult to figure out where your shot will land. I made one this morning. Practiced a little bit, then went zombie hunting. I bet I landed less than 1 in 5 of my shots. And, in true DayZ fashion, while I'm running around Cherno looking for infected, WITH A BOW IN MY HANDS AND NO GUN ON MY BACK, some mook starts taking pot shots at me. I guess he wanted my improvised backpack or my green hiking shirt. If I had any skill with the bow, I'd have gone after him. Thought about charging him with my brass knuckles, but wanted to play with the bow some more.

    He was moving at full speed while crouched (and only had a .357 in his hand). That's what made me suspicious. I'd never sent hat before. But the server was acting janky, so it may have just been a visual bug, I suppose.

    Had some fun just now, though. Found a high pop private server (CREW something). Started a new toon. Spawned near Svet. Found a 30rd sporter mag and the gun. Then found a box of ammo. Spent the next 45 minutes running around Svet, sneaking up on people and shooting them in the butt/legs - wasn't trying to kill, just surprise and annoy. Hit at least 6 people. One even yelled over his mic - "Hey, somebody just shot me in the ass!!" :D

    I haven't played .59 much since it first came out. But for the last 2 weeks, I've been trying to get back in the groove. On the r/DayZUnderground server, I managed to liberate 3 different (I think) offroaders from 3 different camps. After each liberation, I loaded the car with some choice items from camps, then I just drove around giving them away. This morning, I still had one left. I couldn't find anyone so I drove to Myshinko tents. Jumped out, mic open, asked if anyone wanted a free car. What I presume was a hacker, glided up to me in a crouched position very quickly, screamed at me to get my hands in the air, then shot me without raising his gun. Good times. And while .59 works pretty well, it has a few very annoying bugs that I hope will be gone in .60. Just ready for a change I guess. .59 seems too one-dimensional. Everyone running around has and AKM and a glock. I've been sporting an SKS for the first time in months, just to shake it up.

    Thanks for your insightful comments Buakaw, but by that reason no one can ever voice displeasure with the current status of the build. So your point is just noise. And if you read what I said, clearly a tall order, I just expressed a wish. Jesus, I hate the internet smart guys who think they're about 3x as smart as they think smart is.

    It's also not survival when it's nearly impossible to die of malnutrition, infected, hypothermia, fauna, etc. Heck, about the only way the "environment" kills you now is lag/desync while changing altitude. This game needs strong infected back in force in a bad way - they never (?) damage your gear anymore, they rarely make you bleed, and there are never more than a handful milling around. Heck, I miss the infected that ran through walls - at least there were a lot of them and they were dangerous.

    Found a VSS today. Ran over to Myshinko and found a mag. Sat up in the hills shooting infected. Wow! That is one SLOOWWWW bullet. At first, I thought I had the range wrong bc the first infected didn't move. Then, as I'm checking the range, he drops. Probably took a second at 250-300m. I'll stick with the scoped Blaze for sniping. It's pretty nice up close though as it has virtually no recoil.     Just found the tank: little square on the "passenger side" (right if you're facing forward) immediately forward of the back door. Well, it's on SC01 W of the Elektro firestation; I'm gonna go explore the rest of the map if anyone wants a free bus!

    Wow, been taking a break for the last 2 months. Popped on, saw a bus. Found all the wheels, plug, battery, and even a headlight. Can turn it on, but damn if I can make it move. Hmmm. Also, where's the fuel tank? :dopey:

    I have a fairly high end rig (a substantially souped up Raptor Z55) that I use for DayZ - .59 is very laggy for me.

    If that's in Berenzino, it's where there used to be small apartment buildings. They took them out, but the loot still spawns as if they were there.

    In my experience, it works - in that as players pickup, drop, and use items, new ones spawn. But, it really makes game play less fun as the world seems more static. Public servers seem to get a huge benefit out of the legions of hoppers who come through one location for a few minutes looting/using items. Even a private hive that gets full almost every day for a few hours just doesn't have the player activity to make the world seem more dynamic. I really hope the devs consider whether their current approach to the CLE isn't actually encouraging/making servers benefit from server hopping.

    I suspect you're right; the implementation of the CLE coupled with the lack of Infected has definitely decreased the long-term playability for me and others with whom I've spoken. Once they get the former a bit more refined and the latter back in, I think it will return to being loads of fun.
