I never even got ported back. just black screen oblivion. Just now shut it off with the task manager.

I'm not optimistic. After hitting "connect," I've been sitting on the Novo overview screen for almost 2 minutes. Typically, that has not been a harbinger of a stable build for me. ETA: That's odd, this should have quoted IMT's immediately preceding post.

Wow, killer lag, rubberbanding, and getting ejected from servers. Don't think this is gonna be a playable one.

I got to run around Skaliskatay for a few minutes. Then my server died. Now DayZ is doing what it did with the initial release of .60. After clicking "connect", it takes me to the Zelno overview screen for around 20-30 seconds, then goes to black.

Just spawned in to "You are dead" WTF? :D

I had a hatchback one tire form ready this morning, when some guy ran through the trees and killed me without saying a word. And it wasn't for the car, because I was a bit away looking for that last tire. And it wasn't a surprise shot, because when he surprised me, I said "What's up, dawg?" and kept running. As I ALT'd around to look at him, I saw him raise his gun. :( Ah well, at least I spawned near Cherno and got to check it out. Pretty cool. I wish all the shipwrecks were enterable.

That black rectangle in the top right of your screen, I get that on some servers too. Anyone know what it is?

Also, am I just a dumbass or is the only way to take an item out of your hands in the Inventory screen to drag it to your back/pack? There's no way to just one key/click it back in place is there?

I always assume no one can be trusted. I do have around 1000 hours in game. I just get annoyed by people who are boring; especially on EXP. ;-)

Also, it just gets boring to try and murder everyone. Especially when there is a new build out, I'd rather run around and see new stuff. I spawned near Svet the other day. I wanted to see Cherno, but rather than run down the coast like a meat target, I decided t go W then S. I've still only made it to the Vybor area because almost everyone I see opens fire - normally, if you open fire on me, your ass would be dead as fucking fried chicken, but these people happened to pull this shit while I'm in a transitional period so I don't wanna kill them, I wanna help them. :D

Probably experienced by others, but some observations: i) MP5 scopes still don't work. You can attach them, but red dots and crosshairs are invisible for me; coupled with the screwed up iron sights, it makes that gun pretty worthless. ii) Items take a bit to register in the UI, meaning no more running over stuff with your inventory open to see what's on the ground. iii) Doors can take a while to register as well. Tried unsuccessfully to lock several infected in a firestation. iv) People still can't shoot worth a damn. Was at NWAF, admittedly a hot spot, but it is EXP, when some guy opens fire. I do not have a gun in my hand. I run around him for a bit asking why all the violence. He never responds, so I run off across the tarmac, in the wide open, zigging and zagging. I'd guess he fired around 20 times. He did chip my leg. Maybe if you're that bad at the PVP side, you shouldn't play as a KOSer. v) Loot is everywhere, but in small quantities. On one run through NWAF, looking in most tents, I saw scopes and mags for AK101, AKM, and M4, but very little boxed or loose ammo - then again, it was obvious there had been a lot of killing (so maybe I was just late to the party). Still haven't seen a combat knife or any .308. vi) Wearing any type of vest seemed to cause me to get hot. vii) But, the best part of the day? I opened a car trunk and found a sporter, with a scope, and a mag with 4 shells in it. That was really cool to find a complete set.

I'm just glad they took out the vestception glitch. Before barrels and tents, I'd run around with 4 high capacity vests in my bag (and 1 I'd wear with primary pistol, mags, ammo, and water botle): 1 with an SMG; one with medkit, protector case with secondary pistol and 2 mags, compass, matches, and 2 peaches; one full of standard ammo and mags; and one with high end attachments and mags. That toon must have been hale and hearty - sprinting around with around 80 kg of loot on him. :D

We're gonna have to find a new spot to store up the greatest collection of loot Chernarus has ever seen. Not sure why we do it though; you run around without a gun half the time, and I never feel comfortable carrying anything we have less than 3 copies of. If anyone ever does find a Fing/Thurman camp, their head will explode. :D

Although that particular location I wish hadn't changed. No one browsed around in the woods to the east of there; there were plenty of fir trees that went all the way to the ground. It was my favorite barrel hoarding locale. I never had one robbed in probably a few hundred hours of play on both the DayZUnderground and UN servers. Gotta find a new place to stash my loot, as my preferred groves are no more.

Yeah, the few changes I saw were really interesting. I got totally disoriented in Tulga! Tried to make it over to Cherno, but got sidetracked in Elektro when I found a fishing rod. So, of course, I stopped to dig for worms, and . . . wait for it . . . *BAM* "You are dead." :D

Yeah, I tried it, but after ALT+TAB'ing and selecting the task manager, I couldn't get to that window. Just back to a black screen.

The one that came out in the last hour.

Dang, the new build broke it for me. After "connecting" it just sits at the Novo or Zelno overview screen until it either fades to black (at which point I have to do a hard reboot) or kicks me back to the original menu screen (Play/Configure/Change Server, etc.).

The redesigned Tulga did away with my best barrel hiding spots. I've had as many as 18 barrels hidden around there on full pop servers for weeks. :(

Made it in this morning on my second try. Made a knife, talked to a guy standing over a dead body, ran into a house, then all EXP servers went offline. Maybe 30 seconds. :D It sure looked pretty.

So, in .59, I spent a lot of time on the DayZ Colony US-1 server (the non-whitelisted one). All I did was farm the ground outside of the side door of the Cherno PD. I could not leave greater Cherno (I let myself loot the suburbs, bc otherwise, finding anything useful was really rough). If I died, I had to run straight back. I met a lot of people and had regular bands coming by to try and murder me. Once a girl came by and gave me a Mosin with 6 rounds - I felt like it was Christmas. If I had a press vest, ice axe and a pistol, I was in high cotton. There is definitely something magical to having nothing to worry about. I remember once on .58 or .59 EXP, someone robbed the camp fing and I set up (several tents, about a dozen barrels, 4 trucks, multiple copies of every high end item). It felt a bit like getting sucker punched.

I have a pretty high end rig (i7-6700 @ 3.4 GHz, 3200 GB DDR4-2400MHz, 2 x 6GB Geforce GTX980 TI, loads of power and plenty of fans and cooling), and I haven't even gotten a sniff of .60. Granted, I only try for around 10 minutes and then quit. Just saying I'm not sure a higher end rig is the tiebreaker.

I think I was seeing 22. But had ping set around 250-300.
