Put together an offroader. Haven't driven at all since .59 Experimental (so a long time ago). Pristine tires, but very slippery to drive. I spun off the road a couple of times.

Its a very foggy day on whatever EXP server I'm on. Just ran over a guy in a pretty open field lying in the grass in a ghillie. Literally was on top of him before I saw him. Stopped, talked to him: no response, no movement. Was he faking AFK, only to shoot me when I move on, I wondered. He had no gun in his hand. So, I just took off the other direction. It just now occurs to me, he was probably lying there wet trying to cool off and was AFK, as I am while typing this. :D

Glad you're OK! That would be awesome to have lighting in the game.

Does it seem like bullet damage has been nerfed? Some one just shot me. From a long way off. Just heard a whiff and thud. Guessing Winchester, Blaze, SVD, Maybe a Mosin. Ruined my vest, jacket, backpack and EVERYTHING in them. But didn't make me bleed or go grey. ETA: Odd, didn't quote anything. Not even sure what the above empty quote is. And can't figure out how to delete it.

Since there is no EXP thread: Logged in today on SC01. Ran around Novy a bit (police station, guard house, some barns - maybe 5 minutes). Stopped in the field between NS and SS to drink a soda and eat some peaches. All good. Ran to the car park on the east side of Stary - red hyperthermic. My guy must be in really bad shape. He was drenched - it was raining - and wearing no gloves or hat, but only an M65 and jeans.
-
So, I was just running through Vybor with a Mosin+PU and plenty of ammo. Decided to practice my sprint til' shaky-spin-aim-fire-reload-fire routine on Infected. After 17 rounds, my Mosin misfired due to being ruined. Was that because I was using damaged ammo or is Mosin dgredation set too high? I've fired much more than that out of a Glock, M4, and Magnum with no similar effect.

But you could do all of that without the design decision to make several points of interest less interesting. I used to wander through the middle of the map with specific goals in mind (collect so many of X and bring them back to camp; find as many of the vehicles as possible; etc.). Maybe what I'm upset about is ultimately a balancing issue (in which case ALPHA), but I think from dev comments its a design issue. Call it political if you want, but if you're not going to have a story line as a developer, why on earth are you trying to centrally plan my actions/movements?

I agree entirely. The game has suffered ever since the Devs decided to try and "micro-manage" playstyles by forcing people off the coast. I used to find more groups at NWAF BEFORE the nerfed the coast down to hat cities. Just set up a Chernarus full of great environments (i.e., places a player has a viable reason to go) and let the play grow organically. If people wanted to get geared up in Balota tents or PvP on Prison Island or go out west to hunt or hang around NWAF trying to get the best loot, let them. I can't tell what they're trying to achieve by making 90% of the map a grind of soda cans and hats. OHHH another player, maybe I'll murder him with one of my 3 9mm rounds? Or, I'll save that ammo. For what exactly? I feel like they have turned recent builds into more of a pointless PvP fest.

Agreed. Wish they'd open up the field of view on 1PP - it's like my guy is wearing blinders on his head - total tunnel vision. And, as you mention, driving a car while wearing Cone Collar is just dumb.

DayZ is at a real rough patch right now IMO. While there are obviously a lot of improvements over the last several patches, it's just leaving me cold. As others have mentioned the server list just starts me off in a bad mood. But it's not just buggy alpha stuff that's sticking in my craw. In the old days, there were many different things to do (or maybe I'm just remembering the best of several different patches and needlessly whining). I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's just seeming more boring to me. I understand the idea behind making things more difficult, but that just mean life's a drag, not that it's hard to stay alive: when is the last time anyone died of exposure, hunger, sickness, or environmental injury (zombies, a legitimate fall [not desync + stairs = death])? Where's the victory or sense of accomplishment? I know this doesn't really make sense; and if Bohemia got swallowed by a black hole tomorrow, I got more than my money's worth of good times in DayZ. But, it's just leaving me cold lately. And I can't quite put my finger on it - anyone else?

This morning, I found 2 P1s with mags, amphibia with mag, a glock with mag and silencer, several rifles with hunting scopes, an AK101 with scope, and an AKM with mag and folding stock. I have never found a gun that doesn't have a mag with ammo in it (Mosin, SKS, Shotty, Magnum, etc.).

So, I got bored today and started a new run with my 1PP guy. I actually put his AKM, vest and boots with knife in a barrel in a shed in Topolniki before blowing his brains out in the middle of the road. Spawned between Elektro and Cherno. Almost starved to death as I couldn't find any food in Cherno. BUT, I did find a box of pristine .308. Then found a Blaze in Nadez. Ran a helicopter route around Green Mt. and down through Zelno. Saw a couple of people in the Military base, so I opened my mic and started playing, America, Fuck Yeah! over it. I would have shot me just for that! They just stood there and laughed as I zig zagged through the base and then out the side. Then, I saw a helicrash to the SW. Ran over that way and someone took a couple of shots at me. Zig zagged in the open, spamming the same song over my mic for about 5 minutes until I overheated, trying to figure out where he was. Then, as I was getting bored, ran to the green house at 022 100 planning to log out. Ran in the front door, closed it behind me, turned off my mic, opened the second door and BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM!!!!! That SOB was in that house! I bet he was wondering how in the hell I figured out where he was. Luckily, I bet he shot me around 7-10 times with soem full auto - sounded like an M4, but not sure - so pretty sure he got nothing of value. :D Good times!

I just saw a bunch of deer N or Zelno.

I have now been through every town and base on the map in .60 EXCEPT Pusta, Mogilevka, Vyshnoya, Shakhovka, Guglovo, Nadez, Dubky, Novoselky, Kozlovka,Drozhino, Green Mountain, Bashnya, Gvozdno and Skalisty (and the debug island far to the SE). In addition, I bet I have hit close to half of the hunting stands/feedshacks on the map and explored around a dozen unlooted helicrashes. I have seen ONE box of .308, 3 boxes of Mosin ammo, several boxes of AK ammo (and many mags) - both types, one 1911 mag, no umps or mags, no AK101s (but have seen a couple of mags), No SVD (or mags), No Vintorez (or mags), no Longhorn (I don't think). Plenty of shotguns, Blazes (but of course no ammo), .22 guns, .357s, a few carbines (although only one mag I think). A very odd distribution of weapons, ammo, mags. I'd like to see a little more of the guns and ammo for the lower - mid - hunting tier (pistols of all stripe, Mosin, Blaze, etc.), less of the full auto, and far fewer scopes. I know its just an EXP build, just thinking outloud. ETA: Also, no plate carriers or attachments. Odd. Also can't remember if I have seen a P1 mag. And pretty sure I have only seen two CR75 mags. ETAx2: Also, no wildlife other than chickens. (Have now seen deer) Has anyone seen anything else?

Is it the command/old prison building? I was surprised to see they put a few out at Tisy. I thought that building was scheduled for extinction.
-
But, in the game, it seems a pick axe to the head isn't as effective as knuckles; certainly they're better than a lead pipe, baseball bat, pipe wrench, etc. That's all I'm joking about.
-
Also, on a strictly .60 note: What is the deal with having to click the weapon in your hands, then click again to "remove weapon from hands"? How long should it really take me to drop something? What was wrong with the nice little "X" in the old UI. Similarly, why the confirm button on swapping items? The new UI is still pretty clunky - hope improving that is a priority as it is very annoying.
-
So, I pretty much took all of .59 off. Played a little bit on one server (farming the ground next to the Cherno PD and trying not to get murdered), but overall, just sat out for a few months. Boy, did I get rusty. Twice in .60 someone has seen me and made contact when I NEVER saw them. Really unsettled me. I have to get my chops back, or I'm in for some trips to the coast.

Thank you. Despite our initial argument on these boards (where I murdered two guys from about 350m the first time I found a hunting scope), I almost never KoS. Even in Stable. I used to spend a lot of time murdering duper crews back in the .4*s, but I always feel bad when I kill a solo - especially out West. But, sometimes, you're in a position where you just have to pull the trigger. I'm still not sure if the guy I killed was the 3rd man of that crew, or just some unlucky SOB on a different server. On the flip side, I have surprised several people when I had the drop on them by only scaring them rather than shooting. Still occasionally play with 3 of them. Plenty of good reasons not to KoS, almost never a reason to do so. P.S., also, as for the 9mm is underpowered argument that pops up from time to time. I put down 2 of those three guys with a single shot. The 9mm works just fine. And, if anyone was referring to RL, I find modern 9mm ammo is very effective. It may not have the force of a .45 ACP, but it penetrates barriers much better - which certainly has it's uses.

Sorry for the poor quality photo, didn't have time to adjust: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=703653529703653529 Here's the story: Spawned near Cherno. Found some brass knuckles. Got attacked near Balota: Brass Knuckes 1, Glock 0. Ran along the coast. Used Brass Knuckles again, got a shotgun. Swam to PI, huge waste of time. Ran up through Zelno (empty, but scored a good backpack in the military base). Went up to Myshinko base. Saw a guy and said, "Hey, Buddy" - I did not have a gun in my hand. He opened fire. I got the luckiest Glock headshot ever - on the run, drifting sideways; couldn't do it again in a 10000 tries. Imagine my good luck when I see he has an M4 with pristine RDS, about 20 rounds in the mag. Chuckling at my own good fortune, looting his corpse, as someone else (his friends?) opens fire. I start running South before I can finish looting his corpse, the quonset is coming up on my right when another guy runs out of the tents on the left with a gun. I choked and ran . . . INTO the Quonset . . . AND NEGLECTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR IN MY PANIC!! My pursuers wisely sat outside as around 20 Infected followed me in. I shot so many I couldn't move forward. But, finally, they couldn't move back to me. So.... I just laid down with Glock in hand. Infected milling near the door. I guess the guys outside assumed I was dead. They approached the door far too casually. Got the first 2. I could hear the third running around (was afraid he'd just shoot thru the walls - are they bulletproof?). Server restart. True to form, I decided to join the same server (or so I thought). Join in, inside hut, door closed (same server or not, I wasn't sure - no dead bodies, but the restart probably would have done that, right?). Hear feet running around. Door opens. I had to shoot the guy, right? Kind of felt bad about it. Told him I was sorry over the mic and explained the situation. Hope he was listening. TL;DR - lots of Infected milling around is great! P.S. Is it just me or are Brass Knuckles severely OP? I think I get one shot kills (or at least knockouts) with them around 65% of the time. A distant second is an Ice Axe. Until I get a very fast gun (like a 9mm, 1911 or assault rifle), I almost never bother with anything else up close.

I've had no problem with DayZ on Win10. BUTTTTT....many other steam games seem to crash the CPU after a long bout of play with the WHEA_UNCORECTABLE_ERROR. Very annoying.
-
I just ran through NWAF right after the servers came up. Saw several military packs and vests. An AKM, AK74S, an FNX, some AK74 ammo, some AKM ammo, plenty of .45 ACP, a few scopes. Could have been better, but figure it's just a high traffic area.

I like IMT's style. I was yoloing this morning, to no good effect. Made it to NWAF twice and got killed each time (neither time did I have anything of value on me - once I was merely skipping down the tarmac killing Infected with my hammer). Another, I died running down police station stairs (and only a few minutes before found a pristine box of .308). Obviously, the natives were restless with .59, because I have never seen so much KoS in EXP (I had to kill 2 people who wouldn't stop chasing me [yet I was armed and they weren't]) - I'm guessing 90% of the people I talk to open fire - better just to hide in the tree line with my Carbine and 2 rounds waiting for everyone to leave. :D Also, love all the map changes - I don't like to read status reports or change logs (I like to be surprised with a new build), so while I knew Cherno was changed, didn't realize so many other areas had been retouched.
-
I did get in, but after about 5 minutes of game breaking desync and rubberbanding, I got kicked. A swing and a miss.

Not for me. Still stranded on the Zelno overview screen.
