Why should half the map be empty? That's a waste.

I keep getting in the queue of the US 1PP server. Then I get a connection lost message.

I've had an odd weekend in that regard. Out of 15 or so people I saw/contacted, only 2 behaved aggressively. Like the EXP of old days. I've even given away several guns to the unarmed.

I always assume that's what the stutter means, but don't know for sure.

Some mook took shots at me from the piano house in Staroye this morning. I just ran around until I had a good crowd of infected, ran up, opened the door and ran through. Trapped at least 6 or 7 in there. Listened to him bang away until he ran out of ammo. Once it got quiet, I went back in, ice axed the 3 infected he didn't get, and took his Sporter w empty 10rd mag, for which I had a 30rd mag. Win-win, with both wins going to me. :D

I was up by the radio tower at Solnichniy. Not any trees within 20m of me.

I also noticed that sitting by a fire in the rain (yes, I did start a fire in the rain and it continued to burn), my clothes got dry. Even though I'm sitting in the RAIN! :D Don't know if that's new, as I used to build fires inside (but now that those are limited, I gave it a shot).

Pretty sure that's the first build I played. Is that the one where they added the SKS?

Also, if we're gonna shit on the Devs, why can't Hicks unsticky the damn old EXP thread? WORST DEV EVAR!@!#@!@

Just a thought: if you are already cussing or fighting in your first 10 posts, you may need to look in the mirror. I'm not saying anything is all a single person's fault; but, if you walk into a party full of strangers having a nice time, and in the first 10 minutes you're fighting or dropping f-bombs, maybe you should have observed a bit before talking.

Is anyone experiencing issues with the displayed number of items v. actual? E.g., I see a stack of 20 SKS rounds. I load them into an empty SKS. They disappear. I unload the SKS and only have 8 rounds.

While we're all twiddling our thumbs, I got shot this morning (close range, shotgun) - it didn't damage my gun, which stayed pristine, but did damage the ammo in my gun (the 5 rounds in my mosin went from pristine to badly damaged). Is that new? I don't recall seeing that before.

Exactly. Show some effort/imagination. Not to bag on the game, because I obviously am a fan, but there are way better shooters out there. Do something interesting kiddos.

Part of the problem is that there are no choices to be made in .60 or .61. But you're right about the current level of PvP. I mentioned before that I remember giving strangers new guns in EXP just so they could see them. Now, the last 5 people I encountered all tried to shoot me without ever talking. After the first 2, which resulted in my death, I lost my temper and went over to the dark side - the last 3 were presented with the option, "Lower your gun and talk, or die" - then their corpse got a speech on why KoS is boring and ruins the game from me. Oddly, its people KoSing when there's no reason to - you're gonna kill a guy in Msta for his axe? I get hunting at military tents for a full auto, but not for a stack of bandages in Dolina. ETA: Also, you KoSers who are no good at it, take note: a bolt action rifle will lose to my ice axe in cqc almost every time.

I'm sure there are many and varied ways to handle what I see as the problem: that being, I have no reason to go to the coast. Give me a reason to go to the big coastal cities. Because now, there is none.

Also, I know there's not much to do in game but PvP; and ofc, military areas are pretty much always KoS, but, I remember when I found my first MP5 long ago on EXP: I played around with it, met a survivor in the Pavlovo military base and gave it to him. He slaughtered all the zombies and offered it back; I let him keep it. This morning, running around NWAF tents with my mic open (and no good military gear - just browsing spawns), someone starts banging away - I ran around in circles mocking his shooting ability for a bit then headed south (he only fired, never spoke). Then, on the South end by the hangars, some mook starts sniping from the other side of the runways - even if he's in the grass, that's a 250m shot, on a moving target (and if he was in the treeline its more like 400); of course, he missed. I don't know if I was more offended by their lack of imagination or their awful marksmanship. Now, I have been the agressor in a handful of encounters in EXP (I killed 2 guys when I found my first hunting scope - 2 shots, both at about 450m, if I do say so myself - as well as a couple of surprise kills [someone ran in a building behind me without announcing their presence]), and I admit, that I have hunted my share of geared up teams in Stable. But, I NEVER go after a solo, certainly not a civy dressed one - and never in EXP. If I see a solo, I almost always say "hi" - especially if he hasn't spotted me. Some people just have no imagination.

You're right of course, but this is the thing that troubles me most about the last several patches (and even the seeds of it going back to destruction of Balota tents and removal of southern helicrashes): why are they making a huge chunk of the map a wasteland? Give me a reason to go to Cherno and Elekto and Berenzino. Right now it's just freshies and freshy-killers. It's a waste of some of the best, most detailed areas on the map. I like Ducky D's thoughts above: make the coast (and most places) with more of simple items (food, civilian packs and clothing, meds [and can't wait for more uses for medical supplies], basic weapons), but make the NW areas and specialty areas (military camps, tisy, airfield, etc.) spawn the high value items (full autos, military clothes and packs, wildlife), but little in the way of food or meds. Really hope that's the way it goes. Not having a reason to be in the big cities has been a big drag for me lately.

Basher, I had 2 traps I was bringing your way. Both from deer stands. But, I got cocky with the hypothermia thing. :(

Does anyone know what wildlife is in .61? I haven't seen anything other than chickens, wolves and deer - been running all over the west looking for boar.

This morning, I was in Myshinko. Got totally turned around when some guy was wailing on me with an AKM - bet he spent 40 rounds missing me. That's a map change that's new to me. Was wishing I had checked out a map at one point. Finally I lost him, then squatted in terror in my building watching the infected outside. Clearly he ran off. At least I kept my pristine grey tac shirt and pristine black zimjovka. I suppose I did look sketchy with my gas mask and rifle in hand though. :D
