Have you checked to see if... 1. Any other device, or program on the same PC, is periodically accessing your internet causing lag spikes? What you described as far as rubber banding is exactly what happens when you are out of sync. 2. Have you de-fragged your hard-drive recently, and or cleaned out the cooling fan for your graphics card & cpu? You might want to run some hardware diagnostics to see if you might have a failing component. -
Just a quick check back in... I decided to go ahead and re-install Windows entirely to see if that would fix the issue. I wanted to reinstall Win 8 in UEFI mode anyways... Well... IT WORKED. Considering that I used the same backup of DayZ that I had made before I started having problems, I would say the issue lied neither with the DayZ game files themselves nor the Steam cloud synced files relating to the game. Since I'll never know what happened now, I could only purely speculate that it was something relating to Battle-eye, or that my network configuration had gotten screwed up somehow. Anyways, there it is.

1. My firewall has the proper permissions for the games I play. That's how I've played this game in the past without issues. 2. My internet is a 4G LTE cellular modem with very limited router capabilities. It's actually effected by the game's net code DDOS modem crashing issue, so I had to use the Steam caferate method to 'sometimes' avoid that. 3. This issue only effects this game. The game nor battle eye has been updated since I last successfully (normally) played the game. If it is on my end, it's related to this game specifically. That is why I asked here. If this is a bug instead of a standard configuration troubleshooting, it would sure be nice to have a debug mode handy (hint, hint devs). Besides, I even pinged the last tried connecting server manually, and got a normal response. lastMPServer="198.144.183.50:2702";lastMPServerName="Ontario Gaming - Resets once a day!"; FYI - I did try this server connect, and manual ping, with my firewall completely disabled.

Well, the game already has an equilibrium situation in the works to be implemented. Why else would you get the I'm cold/freezing messages. You need a small space to be heated by our bodies emissions, a human designed heater, or campfire to stay warm/warmer overnights. Anyone still out at night hunting other players should be punished with hypothermia unless properly clothed with heavy winter gear. Of course the side effect of this is reduced movement... Anyone with experience in colder environments knows that the more heavily bundled your clothes are, the higher risk for overheating when you start strenuous activities like running. ie - A slow jog at best would be the only practical speed with intermittent rest while heavily dressed on a colder night. Ultimately, I would hope that those camping in the woods (and discovered) would only be potential victims because someone else needed the warmth, but couldn't trust them to invite them in.

Hi. Considering the state of the game, and that most people are on cellphone plans, isn't it time for battleeye and other like anti cheat systems to scan for and kick teamspeak/skype/anyPCbasedComunication type cheating players? Only while playing the game of course... perfectly reasonable and realistic. EDIT; Kinda nullifies the ingame methods of playing, includung walkie talkies... People who attempt to circumvent basic game rules, like the night day cycle, should be auto kicked on offical hive servers.

Hi. Sorry if this has been suggested before, but here goes. 1. Nuke the max sprint with reduce run times and a period of recharge at which point you are reduced to normal run speed). 2. Introduce item weights, and possibly reduce carrying slots by 10-20%. 3. Item weight reduces max movement speed, and turning (slightly) speed. It also allows through prolonged carrying, and running, the ability for your character to move as the game is currently setup (when not carrying over a certain max weight), increasing the importance of that particular character as an investment (less suicide, etc.). 4. Make non-soft cloth equipment like helmets, heavy machine guns, ammo crates/piles, and some clothing create way more noise. 5. Introduction of actions that require two or more people to carry out. Such as erecting the wall of a shack. Why all of these things? Well for several.... no more jack of all trades, and master of them all players having a high grade military sniper, smg, pistol, several case worths of ammo, an axe, several slots of food and water, sticks, medkit, etc... Although doable, you'd have to be way more specialized, and careful if on your own. Benefits would be distribution of equipment over teammates who wouldn't want to bogged/slowed down by carrying everything (Unless you assign a pack mule status to a teammate). More reason to keep the armor light for quick snatch and grabs, or sniper movement. Specialized your team members for a complete package. And stuff... These are my two cents, but feel to free expand on or deconstruct any of this.

I'm sorry for the long delay. I was busy with work.

Which begs the question... If no one is truly friendly, how do you ever get cooperation outside of bringing your real life friends? Shouldn't the game foster cooperation for some play styles as much as it does in the opposite (ie - mass killers, bandits)? Or does the game simply not have the components in it's current state to allow this? I'd would not find the only purpose of the game being simply straight up killing other players for gear very entertaining. Or..., just running around trying to collect it the hard way. Maxed out gear, then what?

I've been playing this game over 70 hours at this point, and I still consider myself a noob. These are my friendly experiences with the other players, and all countable. 3 fresh spawns who call friendly. I was as well and was a fresh spawn. All other fresh spawns tried to melee me (dozens). 2 accidental encounters with armed people. We both surprised each other, and I'm guessing neither wanted a gunfight as we were just looting. We did have low level arms though (sportser, crossbow, etc...). All other armed people have shot at me - and missed, shot at me - killing me, and lots have specifically shot me in the back . In total I would estimate over a hundred encounters with people shooting at me unprovoked. I've personally shot one person after I tried approaching them with the intent to start conversation but he/she fired first. I've only actually killed 1 person who requested I axe them so they could respawn. At this point, I'm guessing that most people are COD/Battlefield players who treat the game as one large PVP map, or are in-game sociopaths. As I don't know any people in my real life that play, I have yet to experience any cooperative play (even coop banditry).
