When wire, duct tape and rope can be used to restrain people this will be less of an issue, can't think of any reason to say no though. They definitely shouldn't go as far as the mod, pickpocketing isn't that easy.

Interesting idea, could definitely do with some more subtle effects to signify low health and blood.

I think they'll probably add the Model 70 and the SVD, split the ammo into 7.62x54/308 and remove the LRS from the Mosin/enable it for the Model 70 and CR527 all at the same time. SVD wont be in until the advanced loot distribution is finished, so I'm expecting it all late Q1 in the new year.

I think the best way to balance bases while keeping it realistic is to have them easy to break into but have lots of traps available to the defenders. If there's a possibility a palisade is surrounded by mines people are less likely to try their luck breaking in and if there's a possibility breaking down a door will cause a grenade to go off you might decide to wait for the owners to come by and attack once they've disarmed it in order to get in.

I think it's a good thing really, it forces you to go into first person to talk to the passenger.

Pretty sure the police stations already have big static radios in them, all they need is a power source. There's also the small radios in houses for receiving messages, and there will probably be a long range military radio added at some point. -
Stamina (and probably weight too) is coming Q2, Its going to be hard to get right and there will be lots of complaining but hopefully they'll stick to their guns on this. Having things clanking around in your backpack is a great idea. I much prefer this way of specializing to having inherent skills that not everyone can access, which other people have suggested and i think is totally against the spirit of the game. But to be honest most lone wolves i meet are pretty friendly, its the groups that are the problem.

To be honest i would rather have whatever the Chechens were using. It looks like they used water bottle silencers too, which we'll be getting in game soon. -
It's definitely going to be hard to balance but that's what we the early access players are here for, so the devs can gather metrics and work out how best to do it. I think once the central economy is in we'll have a better idea of where they're going in this regard.

People say the game gets boring once you're geared up. The obvious answer is to make it impossible to get to the this stage, to draw out the gearing up period forever. You should never have enough food, you should never have enough ammo, you should never be totally healthy, energized and hydrated. This doesn't mean you can't work on getting cars and bases too but if you're constantly worrying about your basic needs the aimlessness which leads to death matching in Electro will be much less of an issue. In regards to your idea the 'lore' is that the player are immune to the infection, although its not set in stone.

It was great to hear in a recent status report that they're working on animations for coughs and sneezes and other illnesses, stuff like that really adds to the atmosphere. In regards to the sitting down and eating thing i think its something to do with how the animation system can't do two things at once, but they're working on separating the body into two parts which will fix loads of issues like this. I wonder what will happen when we run out of function keys? i don't really like the idea of a ui menu.

Here's two for keeping warm: Some kind of traditional sheepskin waistcoat. Puffer vest. The problem with some of this stuff is whether it would actually fit over the bulkier jackets like the Gorka or firefighters jacket.

Gun maintenance is coming so its feasible to have it in 7.62x25 and wear down quickly, it could in fact balance the gun quite well because the internal magazine will make it very desirable. Is there a pistol cartridge you think would be more worthwhile adding to the game? I agree the current set up does look like it covers all the bases but surely one more wont tip it over the edge into caliber madness.

Life jacket is a very nice idea, reflective vest should be in too but i can't think of a situation in which it would be useful.

Most calibers in game are only used for two or three guns. I don't think that number will be much higher in the final release, there's almost thirty guns in game already. Adding the TT-33, PPSh-41 and the Mauser C96 would be a perfectly valid reason for a new caliber in my opinion.

It's a gun that would actually fit the theme much better than most people think, it's in all the old Russian action films (along with the Nagant pistol and obrez). Shame about the ammo though.

I saw this comment by a dev on reddit, replying to people complaining about the plans to have the vehicles use manual transmission and i thought it was relevant here: "We are promoting player skills, if you want to drive that vehicle you need to know how to operate it. Doesn't matter at all if it takes some time to get used to it." This is a good sign in regards to their design vision, hopefully they'll apply the same way of thinking to the shooting mechanics. -

It was just a joke. A super rare type of alcohol would be desirable to refined bandit chiefs and loot hoarders, helicopter crash sites are the obvious place for super rare stuff. It would be funny if American helicopters were filled with crates of champagne. -

Yeah, detachable magazines are pretty annoying but hopefully as the game progresses the balance in this area will get better -

You can make wine from pretty much any fruit which is why i thought it would work well. Thinking more about it maybe cider would be best for brewing, it's a very simple process. In regards to the time issue I'm sure that it can be sped up without ruining the 'authenticity' (Although hopefully not to the extent of the tomato growing cycle, which does ruin it in my opinion). Also champagne should spawn at heli crash sites.
