  4. I am glad you agree the game should be made more mainstream. Hardcore survival for niche audience is a stupid ass idea and would never work.

    I shoot absolutely everyone on sight so doesn't really matter to me but names popping up really close wouldn't be bad.
  6. But he is right. Suppressor with regular ammo still sounds quieter because it suppresses the gunshot and just leaves that supersonic crack.

    I actually agree with the veteran thing. This would make me reconsider entering into a firefight because as of now I have no reason not to KOS anyone on sight. Especially on 3pp servers where KOSing is too easy.

    What animations would add depth and immersion to the game?

    Not controlling like a tank in first person view. For an example your guy automatically lowering his weapon if he goes against a wall. Right now if you want to strafe through a doorway or lean through a doorway with rifle up then your guy will get stuck because 1 cm of the barrel hits the door frame.

    I usually do not KOS lonely players (unless they have gear I want) but when I see a group I go into corner peek mode and pick em off from distance.

  16. So if they left something gamey like 3rd person in a "hardcore realistic survival simulator" to appeal to mainstream then will we get our no-permadeath servers like some people want? I honestly wouldn't mind playing on one.
  17. What? where did I say I want hands lagging behind eyes lol. You need to re-read what I have written. I and others want 1:1 raw input with max speed limit, that is all. I do not even like headbobbing in games. I always turn it to 0.

I do not know if you have some sort of bone disease but when you switch between targets be it painball or with a real rifle at a range I do not slow down or wobble about like I am made of jelly. Neither does anyone else. Maybe you have bad coordination in real life, I don't know. Again you are proving my point "Twitching round" at paintballing sighting targets in real life= using both my head and my hands holding the weapon at the same time Freelook in Arma/DayZ= only the head They are the exact opposites so no, Arma doesn't simulate it.
  22. All it shows is you can do 360 when turning smoothly. Mostly everyone can do that. What is unrealistic is the fact that you cannot do small quick movements (or twitch as you say) which you can in real life. Just like your video shows, when you accelerate too fast even for a little bit it messes up and that is something completely unreal. That will never happen in real life be it at the range when quickly switching targets or when playing paintball. When I move about I do not turn and look smoothly and methodically because some magical negative acceleration might kick in suddenly. If anything, simulating panic would mean positive mouse acceleration but that too would be unrealistic. A game has no way of knowing between somebody panicking and when somebody just wants to move and change directions quickly even for a split second. And again, the devs themselves agree as it was changed for ARMA3. The complaint isn't it nobody can do it and it takes some serious skill. It doesn't and anyone can do that. The complaint is it is completely unrealistic.

  24. Glad to see you do not actually know what they mean. Right now the mouse will restrict your movement when you accelerate too fast. 1:1 input will restrict you when you reach a certain speed. The devs can keep 1:1 raw but limit your turn speed like some FPSs do. Keep on saying they are the same. Thanks for supporting me because that is exactly right. A panicked guy will move his gun around like a maniac and someone who is calm will move it in a controlled manor. So 1:1 will be more realistic as someone who panics will swing it around like a maniac with no stopping from neg. acceleration and someone who is calm will move it smoothly with no help needed from neg. acceleration.

I went through 9 months of mandatory conscription and I have done many 60-men-or-more paintball matches with russians, fins, swedes with full gear (padding, ball bottles, weapons, roleplay gear at times, camo nettings, etc) and I could look around faster than in DayZ. Even more so when "panicking". But my anecdotal evidence means just as much as yours - nothing. The fact that you want a video of someone moving their mouse in a video game to prove them wrong is lol. I guess the godly amount of people who complained about it in Ofp, ARMA, ARMA2 all should give in videos of themselves so you can tell them what they are doing wrong. Maybe the developers themselves should films their mouse movements as well because if they changed it for ARMA3 then they were obviously using their mice wrong. To anyone getting teleported off ladders with a rifle in hand, the best advice I can give is REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR WEAPONS. You will finally get used to it and it will be a no problem. "get used to it" and appeal to tradition fallacies are the worst and hold progress back. Just because we can play with neg acceleration does not mean it is not garbage and doesn't need fixing. Let's change half of the "suggestions" subforum to GET USED TO IT
