After playing the Experiemental a few time I find it impossible to find food and most likely your character will die within 30 minutes.

What if it's occupied? lol you have to wait until they are done at least, right? Or they might ambush you!

Ok, it was my fault not the trap. Since I never read or watch tutorials I assumed that "Setting Up" the trap is enough for it to work. In real life I know how to set up traps, but I was in gaming mode. But I have another question though. If I want to set up traps, that means activating part should be included in it. Otherwise why would I bother setting it up? So with that assumption, I totally ignored and didn't see or even look at the Activate option. The only thing I saw was the Take Trap in middle of screen.

He wasn't using a mic, and didn't tell me he had food. I didn't know. He was pretty new to DayZ. He didn't know how to use those items.

I've never had a single problem doing this. Bugs and glitches will be fixed and the game is getting better and better every month. I demonstrated it in the video and it worked like a charm. I did this today 4-5 times in different locations and didn't lose anything. But that's just me, and the only way to find out if this works really well for you is to try it out several times, it won't hurt. It works at least 99% of the time. But at the end of the day, it all comes to personal preference. Some folks, newbies, or players never thought of this, might find this pretty useful and efficient, while it might not work well for others. :)

Yeah, I agree. I don't mind if others use for whatever reasons they have, new players, disabled, personal, group/clans, etc., it's their style, as long as I don't use it :) but it's a humble suggestion or hint for others that not using the map will make their gameplay a lot more enjoyable in the long run. Getting used to online tools and metagming too much will eventually dull your game experience. Some might try it and find it interesting and not rely on online tools and try to explore & survive in Chernarus on their own. It'd be a challenge. Thanks for constructive comments!

Those status messages are REALLY annoying!

I've seen ton of videos where players go to Main Menu and conveniently change their Field of View on the go while PVP or when they play Night time servers they can change their Contrast & Brightness settings and be able to see everything. Should the FOV and Color Settings be only set before joining a game? What are your thoughts on this?

Both! I'd like to choose. Some men already have beard! Also if I choose a short beard, my character should grow it longer over time. Starting clean shaven is kinda lame. If DayZ is designed so players can survive longer, then growing beard is practical, otherwise we all die before even growing a beard. What about hair? We should be able to grow hair too!

I understand exactly what you mean, but in some real life situations like if you're behind a solid concrete 7 feet tall fence, you won't be able to see what's going on the other side of it, but in the game you can conveniently see everything while hiding safely. As you said, it balances out everything, the real life vs. game, but still there are situations where a player can abuse 3PP for unfair advantage. Also, 3PP allows people to glitch through walls and ceilings, which is hard to stop. But at the end of the day, it's just a personal preference, some like 3pp some don't, and I see what you mean. We 1PP players not trying to get rid of 3PP, it's there to stay. And if we compare wide FOV in game with real life, there is nothing wrong with wide angle FOV, as long as you chose the right view and set. But the problem is that we can change it back and forth any time we want, while in the game. In real life survival situation people have tunnel vision, they don't have the luxury to change their vision on the go. Only digital cameras can see it that way. I think it is a lot more difficult to see everything clearly in real life than in game using FOV and high res monitor 2 feet away from you.

Same here! All the survival features and mechanics are useless if DayZ is only about Military Gear, Guns, Ammo and Death Match. Who cares about little pesky zombies???

What about we shouldn't be able to change FOV during game play, whether it's 1pp/3pp? I think FOV should be set before joinging a server. I don't like 3PP and I think being able to change FOV on the go is same as 3PP, it allows you to become a super human with a wide angle view, as if you instantly changed the shape of your eyes like a wide angle camera.
