I remember, I once played the mod on my first days into the game. I always managed to find bandits and obviously I spent most of my time dying to them. Then one day I met this guy driving an ATV down Elektrozavodsk and stopped to help me refuel my own ATV. His name was Chern0byl and he left after I was all set. I spent several days going into different servers trying to find this guy. Took me some time, but I did...He lives un another country and we've been playing DayZ (both mod and game) since then like a team. That is the most gratificating thing I've found in this game. Surviving the zombie apocalypse with a good friend, making an even better team is what keeps me playing DayZ.

I never accused the devs for the game not run on my XP :s what the hell is wrong with you? I wanted to make sure, that it was the right reason causing this...and at least someone here knows how to read, becuase he answered my question.
-
Yeah, but I've been playing since day one on a WinXP, so the minimum (supported or not) went back as far as WinXP at least. Anyway, my question was answered...
-
Thanks a lot good sir, this was the only thing I needed to read ^^ beans for you :D :beans: :beans: :beans:
-
We ALL know that is never was supported, that doesn't change the fact that DayZ runs better my old XP than my gamer Win7...I want to know if that is the reason...that's all. Why is so hard to read the question?
-
I do not care about official support, I already know that...my PC is Win7, but this one is XP and I've been playing a lot of hours here before... knowing that even it is said that it doesn't work on XP...it does, now it doesn't...all I'm asking is if that is the reason. Nothing else. Please read and stick to that
-
EDIT: Apparently some people are having trouble to understand a question, so here are some facts... 1) I Know WinXP isn't supported by DayZ 2) I Know it is an old OS 3) My main computer is Win7 4) My old WinXP ran DayZ much faster 5) Even though the minimum specs state WinV as the minimum, DayZ used to run on WinXP as well 6) I am not angry because this happened 7) I am not asking the devs to support WinXp 8) I play DayZ on my Win7 9) I know WinXP has too many security flaws, but I know how to protect my computer and I'm virus free with everything I need (except for DayZ now) 10) I use this old computer for work (some programs run better here), but I also have some games installed here 11) I do have a copy of Win95 as well...no need to brag about it 12) The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim, Max Payne 3, ArmA3, Thief, The Sims 4 and NBA 2k14 still run on WinXp altough none of them support WinXp (Don't belive everything you read and experiment on your own) 13) Thanks to Kichilron, the only one capable of answering my question So...apparently I cannot play DayZ anymore :( is because I have WinXP?

I've made plenty of bows and they've worked. Obvioulsy a bow made of a solid thick branch gives more stability and power to the shot, but we're talking about improvised ones here my friend. Please, simple reading, shouldn't be too hard, right? And staying on that subject (improvised bows) it is more useful to put a bunch of RANDOM branches of the same height and girth, twist them around and tie them. This make the bow to be curved and resistent to the power implemented on each shot. These bow deteriorate incredibly fast, they're made for one hunt, not to be your companion your whole life. PS: Ash or elm bows are obviously better, but a "bushbow" as we call it here is quicker and easier to craft, works fine to get the game and gets the job done, plus is way more common than the other 2. And since we're playing a survival horror game, I belive it suits better to have a more common and simple bow.

Hahahahaha, this phrase got me. I second this

I was thinking about replacing the ashwood one with this, but I'm cool with having 2 kinds of improvised bows. The reason why I don't like the ashwood one is because IRL, using only one thick branch to make a bow is not as effective as a lot of thin branches. It gives more flexibility and resistance PS: This is a bow I found in the shed outside my house. It must be 10 years old, it doesn't work after all this time and is kinda small (I was a kid when I did this) And this is the new Nerf Bow my sister got for her birthday...learning the basics since young age hehe

Who still uses Mosin (+LRS) for range kills?!

I belive that insted of an Ashwood Stick, we should be able to craft a Makeshift Bow from Wooden Branches and it could look like this I say this, because I hunt with my brothers and when we were kids we made a lot of these and they worked (as good as any improvised wep of course) and this is way more common to craft. What do you think? :)
