Yeah just throwing a crazy idea out here, the game is unplayable at the moment due to hackers. How about you fix that or is that too much of a request?

That's an ArmA2 feature. Will see what can be done though. maybe remove hatchets and crowbars for the moment? it's a huge bug at the moment

keep up the good work rocket, but the newest patches have messed the game up at bit good items like water bottles, akms, crossbows etc are still turning into hatchets in the tents and we're losing our stuff that way zombies are now superhuman, more so than the 1.7.1.1 patch -
can't see it in the notes rocket but the main problem i'm having is hatchets mutliplying. the main problem though is if you place something in a tent, it sometimes gets replaced by about 30 hatchets. the other thing is hatchets are no longer an item that goes with watches and compasses, its a primary weapon now

I'm totally with you OP, the latest patch has driven the difficulty up to 90/10 and IS driving new players away from sticking with the game. It's a real shame because v1.7.0 was the most fun I've ever had with a game. -

You need to launch the game as combined operations otherwise dayz won't work. Seeing you haven't bought through steam, you need to download a third party program that combines the two .exes into a launcher. Here's a video that should help you. The guy guides through for both the steam and non steam version: -

Yeah do that and just download the .rars manually, unzip and place them in the folder :).

A lot of people are having trouble with Six Launcher, try manually downloading and placing it in your @dayz\addons folder.

Sorry trying to help the best I can, I'm using the steam version and doing what I did fixed it for a few people. Instead of just having "-mod=@dayz"; try "-mod=expansion;expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion;@DayZ -skipIntro -noSplash" -

Try putting the arma2oa.exe file that's in the beta folder into the main ARMA 2 OA folder. Also create a back up of the current arma2.exe file in case you need to go back to it. -
No worries mate, on the server browser it says in the server names what version of the mod the server is running. Some are still on 1.7 but most have migrated to 1.7.1 now which is why you're probably having trouble.

You need the new update which is 1.7.1 for most servers and for that to run you HAVE to have the BETA patch.
