re the above, i am hoping in the SA we get enough character customisation that we can recognise at least our immediate friends better. Have you read this thread HERE

Try deleting the appdata folder as described in THIS THREAD for people who get stuck loading in forever and have to force close the game.

Wooot ! Finally solved :) Thanks heaps to Rarabka223 :thumbsup: It did involve a full reinstall which she had done a few times previously with no joy, but it must have been deleting the appdata that finally solved it. Hopefully this thread can help a few who get the same problem and have to force close and never work it out, i found a ton of people all over the web in various forums and such who have given up with this exact issue so hopefully a google search leads them here.

For some reason i haven't had a broken anything since the patch. When looting the tents sometimes stuff was respawning as soon as i picked an item up and by the time i had completely looted all four, the tents had all respawned items, which is what i meant by 'non stop circle tent loot run'. Same was happening at the mil tents in Cherno as well. I wandered out of there after a few minutes fully geared. Only problem i am having is there is so much mil loot that it is hard to pick which two primary guns i want to keep, generally taking an m4a3cco and m14 aim.

I am normally hooked up to my spare 42 " so i can enjoy the scenery ;)

I know :) ..much easier though if we are doing a night or weekend at someones house and want to get our dayz or any other game on.

That. There is so much food since 1.8 you don't even need BB's.

Ok cool , thanks :) She just got back to me..steam redownloaded the whole install again so she is not a happy camper :) she has to wait until the 21st to have any net available again at a speed faster than dial up. She officially hates Steam..welcome to the list :D

Ok this is what i got from her this morning :) I just dragged Arma and ArmaOA folders out of the steam apps folder onto desktop, so there were no files. Not sure if that is classed as the AppData, cause I couldn’t find an a file called that and looked it up on net and they said it wasn’t actually a file. So did I do it right? They are the only folders I thought would make any difference, and when I checked after I did the verify, all the files were back there, so must be the right way. If not, I dunno where to go find the AppData… verify’d it overnight, went into both Arma and ArmaOA through steam this morn, then had to update in Commander, then tried to go into a 1.8 server, but didn’t even go to logby, just came up with that profile and exit screen…? Have another look tonight I guess…hmmm

Non stop loot circles at the 'zino mil tents will get you an M14 within a couple of minutes at worst, if one hasn't already spawned by the time you start ;) Something is hugely wrong with the loot respawn there :huh:

Have been able to loot the mil tents at Bere non stop in a four tent circle loot run. Takes about 5 minutes to get a czech/coyote , m14 aim, 8000 tins of food and drink, entrenching tool, m4a3cco and stanags and then get away all geared up and go sleep in the forest. Next guy that came along must have nearly died when he saw how much shit i left on the ground outside all of the tent openings :D

For some reason my crafting window works now..keep finding heaps of electronic scrap, rags, duct tape and wipes but no string or leaves. Decided not to waste my time picking up the new items and just resorted to my normal loot until either SA or the next patch sorts a lot more :)
